Best book I have ever read!!!! First time ever I finished a book 100% through one sitting.
Lore buffs will love the details given.
Adventure lovers will orgasm.
It has everything you can ask for 10/10
Sorry for being vague, I didn’t want to spoil anything with it being the release day.
Buy it though!!!
Just got it on my kindle…looking forward to reading it!
Really looking forward to reading this book. Ordered it yesterday, so should get it tomorrow I believe.
I have it on my ipad mini via kindle app ($3 cheaper going kindle than iBooks)
Should be waiting for me when i get home, didn’t find the other books particularly good so i’m looking forward to seeing if this will pick things up a bit.
I will be ordering this on the 29th, loved the first 2 books also so i hope this is just as good or even better.

I’m inclined not to get it till I hear feedback from other people because the last two books were written, so badly. I hope it’s good though
I am considering buying all 3 books, is each a individual story or are they connected?
The fantasy books I like to read are by:
David Gemmel
George R. Martin
Terry Pratchett
Robert Jordan
Raymond E. Feist
Is the writing in the same league as those?
I feel very much disconnected from Guild Wars lore/story, especially as I never played GW1, so would love to get to know the lore more over a good story…

I doubt anything will beat Robert Jordan (RIP)

Haven’t read the third one yet, but the first two ones are losely connected individual stories.
Ghosts of Ascalon deals a lot more with the world in general and the events tha happened on it, IMHO it’s very good for the lore background of the GW2 world. Edge of Destiny doesn’t deal with the lore as much, but it (obviously) tell you the story of the main characters in GW2 and what happened to them. The novels are losely connected in the fact that the events in Edge of Destiny happen before Ghosts of Ascalon (the novels seem to go in reverse chronological order), so in GoA you there are mentions and cameos of characters and events from EoD, but the general storyline is mostly independent.
The writting is very nice, though of course it’s not nearly as good as the ones you mentioned, and sometimes it feels like some of the events or situations are forced to move the story forward or drive a point, but in general I’d say it does its work and were enjoyable to read.

I don’t feel the writing is in the same league as actual literature, because it’s written for a gaming audience. The focus, particularly in Edge of Destiny is too much on action, and less on story. I thought Ghosts of Ascalon was better written.
I’ve only just started Sea of Sorrows, and it’s good so far, but you know…it’s hard to tell from a couple of chapters.
And though I didn’t think Edge of Destiny was well written (I disagreed with some of the decisions the author made), it was still a fun read.
I just wouldn’t expect a lot of depth, that’s all.
Thanks for the answers, just read the reviews on Amazon for the 1st two books and they pretty much agree with what you both said…
Ghosts of Ascalon seems to be rated the best, so I will give that a go and consider the other 2 later…
Cheers…

glad to hear it!
I just finished the first chapter. Pretty sad stuff but hopefully things turn around for Cobiah in chapter 2.
