My issue with those wings is, that they appear more like some garment than actual wings that the character can control. I wouldn’t want them to flap constantly like other wings do (since they are too big for that and it would look silly), but some idle-animations like stretching them a little bit (not too much) or just some more movement from time to time would be great and make them look more alive (yes I’m aware that there’s already some slight animation going on). But I guess you can’t give idle-animations to backpieces… either an animation plays constantly, or not at all.

They do move a hair, but I suppose the small animation could be more apparent just a little. Without it being “too much”.. because they’re big and all. I think everyone just wants to put their big wings to use in general, or show them off like a /stretch type command.

I have been hoping for backpieces that react more to character movement as well.
The best example I have seen in-game was during the Battle for Lion’s Arch with the three Assault Knight bosses. The idle animations they had before the fights were pretty nice.
Well, here’s still hoping they can bring that tech over to PC’s eventually.

I’m sure we’ll see some additional colors over time. Releasing the black ones first gets the people who want black, and the people who will take what they can get while waiting for the color(s) they really want.

I want gold ones myself.

Not really fond of the wings myself. They look so bulky and lifeless.

I really don’t want to run around with them .. so i also crafted an extra backpiece
for them and can switch them whenever i want

Why do people take so many screenshots with something dark behind them when trying to show off their black wings…? .

He’s only a little fella and I broke my rule for using skins before 80 but I think he looks okay. I can see the wings getting a little old though.

Edit: now that I’ve run around with them for an hour I think they really suit this guy. They won’t get tired at all. Here anyway.

Sounds like a monitor issue on your end. I can see the wings clearly in each screenshot in both this thread and the other one.

I had a medium armored Sephiroth, a fallen Angels, and vampires from Legacy of Kain, waiting on the wings. Of course, ironically due to Anets poor choice of a 24 hour sale rather than at least 48 hours, coupled with work making me stay out of town during that period, it was not something I could achieve for my RP cosplay accounts. :/

Last night I saw 3 Anvil Rock jerks trolling around our borderlands ganking noobs, all wearing these god-awful wings. I can’t wait for this fad to die, just in time for them to release a lazy re-skin.

My Thief, more or less just playing around with the different outfits and those wings. Not sure what I’m going to do with them just yet. Kinda wish they were dyable or available in different colors (wheres white?!).

quite disappointed that thet vanish in death shroud and while using emotes, but otherwise they look really good

You can get them back during persistent emotes like dancing by opening Hero and toggling your back off and on. You’d have to be bot-fast to do it for a short emote like /point, though, so machinima might be limited in using the wings.
