Simple Solution for Champion Loot in Events

That actually is not a bad idea. It will be even better if after the 4th champ they just stop spawning more champs in that event, so the people will focus on the captain (i’m talking about aetherblade events while an invasion).
Something like the drops from scarlet invasions? DR to green and blue gearboxes?
I like that.
Even easier: Champs spawned by events don’t drop bags. Give bags for completing event, relative to difficulty.
This would help some… but depending on a few things it might not accomplish your goal “To make it worth completing events”.
If it was faster to restart the events (and thus get fresh champions to farm which spawn at the start of the event) by failing the event then this wouldn’t help… if it was faster to restart the event by completing it… it would.
Now this means one of two things, either we have events that recycle very quickly (which some people don’t like because there’s no lasting affect of the completion) or we have events that don’t get completed.
I think your idea, combined with better event completion rewards and more events would help encourage people to complete events and then move on to another event. If the event completion rewards were good enough to outweigh the desire to spawn champions, you might even see less zergs and more people out in the open world completing random events. Not sure if that was also one of your intended goals… but I personally would really like to see rewards tied to the events themselves… have the random champions out in the open world have a lootbox (they should be rewarding to kill) but the ones that spawn in events shouldn’t be as good, the focus shouldn’t be on the mobs but on the event itself.
Well, that’s my thoughts on it anyway.
Nice idea but it still introduces an anti-social aspect into the game.
Already killed your champs for loot, you aren’t going to kill anymore. Some people are trying to kill their champs and ask for help, everyone else has already gotten their loot. People aren’t going to bother stopping to help and back to the old ‘ignore champ, no point killing it’.

Here what I and most terrible people like me will be doing.
- Kill my 8th champ
-Leave for the next camp I can get drops at
-Now a handfull of people are left fighting a ton of mobs
-They all die
-Event fails
-Tons of kitten ensues in /m
STOP nerfing peoples ability to make money, your idea is backwards.
What we need is champs spawning at EVERY event not just pirates etc… theres a reason hardly anyone bothered with minions (5-10 chests vs 1) that’s a real hard choice!
Money is this game is HARD to make, theres a wall that almost no one can pass until they get a precursor drop, otherwise your average person makes ~5g a day, especially now that emberfarm and deadeye are gone.
Or make it you don’t kill the same champ twice in the same couple of hours/day. If you want to farm champs forever go do it but explore the world not just the corner of a map.

I can make 5 gold in less than 1 hour, easily, without making events fail.
And if I want to make even more gold even faster → play the TP

Too much math.
It is simple. The always said they want a living world. Get people out doing things.
No more champ loot boxes.
Make all champions that spawn solo without and event. Have an event. (gasp)
Make all Events, have a loot box upon event completion. Base the quality on event level and medal.
People wanna farm champs. farm champs. People wanna farm events. Farm events.
To top things off, daily call to arms in certain zones, to have double rewards. Ensuring no one zone is always to go to farm.
They should just make, like many have suggested, champion loot drop from end-of-event chests instead of champions themselves. Clean, no whining from farmers (apart from the ones that whines over everything), events get done and we still have players filling zones.
This idea should be extended to the harder events like Temples and make them drop a large number (25 to 30) champion boxes at completion to reward skill and effort.

The problem was champion loot completely going against the philosophy of reward beibg a measure risk/skill/effort, and making people play the game in ways it should not be ( failing events on purpose and everyone going straight to pirates in invasions, making them fail).
I still think people were exaggerating about that, “everyone goes to pirates and makes the invasion fail.”
I have only been in one invasion that has failed, and it wasn’t because of pirates. There is also no way for me to know what the majority of people are doing on the map, as I can’t see how many people are concentrated in one area, and I’m too busy trying to complete the events.
The majority of people I’m with in the area leave after pirates are completed, (both before and after the nerf)
The number one problem with your solution is the number at which DR kicks in needs to be a lot higher than 4. It needs to be high enough to cover the actual number of champs that will be killed during a normal event run or else you’re punishing players simply for playing the event where a certain number of champs are going to be killed in the course of completion.
Also, this game has too much DR anyway. Other MMOs don’t have DR to punish their players and they do just fine.
Places where DR does not exist are the best places.
