Okay, I know I’m not the only one who’s thinking this. We get it, in video games, more exposed flesh means better armor. At least, that seems to be the train of thought when it comes to the women of Tyria. Before any of you get mad at me for my somewhat sarcastic tone, it’s alright, I accept that that’s the way it is, but can I suggest we try the same thing for the strapping males in our fantasy world?

Arena net, sex sells as the revealing feminine armor sets have clearly shown, well you also have a decent female and gay male player base and we would love to see some attention over here. Nothing quite says, “Fear me!” like charging in to battle half naked because, why the kitten not? I know that there are a lot of things on your plate, but I just wanted to toss this idea out there. The male body is a beautiful thing so let’s celebrate it the same way we celebrate our beautiful women: with tastefully revealing armor skins!

Seriously though, this is a bit of an issue. Playing through HoT last night and got to the point where I was speaking to a certain survivor and noticed that while her cohorts had solid, protective armour, hers had big holes cut out for her boobs. I had to wonder if she was just clipping but no, actually had boob holes in protective gear.

I’m all onboard, too. Maybe not ridiculously skimpy but certainly not full on trenchcoat clad options would be nice.

I’m just saying we need more like that feathered armor, but for mid armor classes. I’m totally on board for the nip pasties though.

A Charr female in high heels and a teddy bearing down on you would probably be pretty scary.

And a little bit exciting.

But mostly scary.

I find it funny that heavier armour translates to more skimpy options in the game. Heavy armour gets a selection of around 4 nearly shirtless options. Leather armour has multiple short sleeves/sleeveless chest armour designs, and cloth armour is mostly full-covering robes.

Tbh, I don’t find most female armor in this game “skimpy” (I guess there are few exceptions). Unrealistic and not particularly protective (then again, lightweight “armor” is basically just clothes by intent)? Sure, but not any more unrealistic than combat in general. Distastefully sexualized? Not at all. There is a certain and very important difference between showing the body’s natural beauty and emphasizing one’s sex characteristics. Are Na’vi from Avatar wearing skimpy clothes?

Male armor, generally speaking, is not any more realistic, albeit for different and less obvious reasons. It simply tends to hide the body’s shape in a pretty silly and diffident manner.

I’d actually transgender one of my toons for that. I don’t normally roll males because I don’t really relate well, but if it means a little beefcake? Yes please!

there is not one thing wrong with people being them self’s and having good harmless fun even if it is in a video game .

this now is my rev I got him into a cute out fit and in nice shade of pink changed it so the front view now shows up

I find it very interesting that those who don’t want male skimpy are either:

Afraid of men showing equal amounts of skin and want only women to be skimpy (double standard)

OR

They never like the fact that in games (and in real life too), people can wear what they want, and everywhere they go they want to close their eyes because they disagree with what others are wearing. yup yes they are flesh that is too scary for them to handle . lets say some can break them emotional/mental barriers more easy then others can . like i got a few guy friends that look better in a dress and heels and some of them even make money doing so too. needless to say tho some women find out they get very jealous for some reason not sure why but they do .

Who says it has to be for that reason? Someone could just want people to see his beautiful abs okay! Yes some guys might wanna do it to get a girlfriend but showing skin doesn’t always have to do with sexuality sometimes it can mean innocence.
