Skimpy clothing preference
I agree here. I don’t care if they do the same for male characters. I’d still agree
As long as male characters are included, I wouldn’t mind.
Plus, more freedom with character appearance is a positive in my head, anyways.
So long as there are OPTIONS I couldn’t care less. I don’t mind if someone wants to run around in near no clothes, so long as others have the option to run around in more concealing clothing. Personally I love things like the cabalist armour on females as a pose to say, masquerade armour. So long as options are there, all is good.
I like tight fitting clothing on my characters showing off their curves, which happens to be more revealing armor.
50/50 GWAMM x3
I quit how I want
I think you’re worrying needlessly. If ANet’s track record is anything to go by, there will be enough skimpy and concealing outfits to satisfy both sides of the player base. I’m personally quite happy with the selection of armors as it is right now.
All of those female human thieves and rangers aren’t saving up for the T3 cultural because of it’s practicality.
Same goes for winged armor. I’ve seen people craft the level 60 set just so they can transmute it to a new lvl 2 character.
I think there are and will be plenty of options both ways.
Dragonbrand
I want my male human thief to be wearing less. He’s got a nice body. I would like to see it! Plus most medium armor is just terrible anyway.
I agree. As long as there’s enough options for both. I’m female and I hate running around with a character whose breasts are falling out of their armour. I don’t care if someone else wants it though :P I’ve played too many mmos where that was the only option for a female character though and I’d hate for THAT to happen.
I say more skimpy male armour. There’s definitely not enough of that. There’s only two that I can think of that show some chest.
And… since we spend most of the time looking from behind, it’d be nice if there were a bit less on the 6 oclock.
sometimes I feel like dressing my char as sexy as possible and sometimes I just wanna make her look bad kitten and intimidating, so yeah, I’m all for more skimpy clothes, but i also want an equal number of bad kitten but not-so-skimpy clothes
I agree with maintaining a skimpy option for both male and female character armor in light to heavy armor. To me, especially for light armor wearers, skimpy just looks right.
I wear trench coats in life. I wear fur coats (fake fur but still fur looking). I wear pants, long sleeve shirts with no cleavage, simple flat shoes for daily comfort. I look at other people who wear the same clothes (generally) all day long at work, on the street, even on a night out, it is generally the same clothing, maybe just flashier colours and some glitter on the eye-lids.
Even if i REALLY wanted to wear those beautiful fantasy clothing to work I could not. I live in cold and harsh Canadian climate. Even if i do manage to get by, I will be given a warning and shortly fired very fast.
Then I get home from work, I want to emerge myself in this fantasy of a video game. I want magic abilities, I want dragons, I want a beautiful magical world to look at. I certainly do not feel right to wear the same clothes in game as I wear at work. Kind of kills the fantasy aspect there.
All I want is:

Some high heels for my female characters would be nice too!
As a girl, I have to agree. I play a class with Medium armor and the medium armor is the worst offender of them all! I’m not asking for Tera skimpy, I just want form-fitting clothing. A lot of the medium armor consists of Trench coats and I hate them so, so much.
Personally i think there’s a nice variety for both sides bar maybe on the medium armor . There’s always Transmutation stones if you want the look of one armor and the stats of another
Charr get such nice fur patterns… and then nearly all their armor hides it -_-
I’m not really even asking for skimpy armor in any traditional sense – I just want to be able to have something to see for all the time I spend fiddling with the colors & patterns in the char gen – I mean, its actually visually interesting and distinct charr-to-charr (unlike the sea of trenchcoats >.>). Heck, even the NPC charr get some (what appear to be) town clothes options like this but aren’t afaik obtainable by players. The people actually after skimpy would benefit by having more options that would translate to showing more skin on humanoids.
Also more non-trenchcoat options for medium armor please. I mean, there is very little visual distinction between the vast majority of medium armors.
And while I’m at it, I might as well throw in that it’d be awesome if all those terrible clipping issues for charr armor (esp Horns, Ears, Tail) got fixed.
Give Charr armor some more love!
Let us show our spots, stripes, or lack-there-of in style.
I don’t want female humanoids to look like blocky robots, nuns, or bigfoot.
By all means let us continue to have large and interesting shaped cleavage windows, bare midriffs, and eye high skirts!
You seem to be talking only about female characters, which makes my knee-jerk response to your post one of irritation and NO.
Personally, if I complain/comment about female armor being too skimpy, it is almost always because the female armor is skimpy and the male armor is not. This is sexist and it bothers me, so I make my thoughts on the matter known. I am certainly no “prude”, and in fact often enjoy dressing my girls in pretty, sexy clothes, and I would kindly ask that people such as the OP consider the fact that it is not merely “prudes” that complain about skimpy female armor.
Give both genders equally skimpy/sexy gear, and I give this suggestion a thumbs up. Otherwise, I emphatically disagree.
I apologize if this came out too harshly — I just tend to be a bit defensive as this topic is often met with "yeah sexy ladies, we want skimpy gear! . . . what now, sexy dudes? eew lol no -posts picture of a buff guy in a skimpy pink unicorn outfit-" or some other such intelligently phrased variation. xD
There’s a few bare chested male armours around.
I like tight fitting and mostly covering clothes and also skimpy clothes like winged.
I want to see Elite Canthan make a return. As it is the sexiest non-revealing set because it just accentuates her curves and is very tight on her body. I wore it a lot in GW1 as one of my four main sets.

Yeah, I miss the form-hugging armors of my female Assassin from GW1. Not all Medium armor has to be shapeless, bulky trenchcoats, ANet!
My warrior is a lady and I’m not really interested in equipping her with something absurdly skimpy like the armor you see in games like Final Fantasy X-2, TERA or Perfect World. Don’t get me wrong, I quite enjoy that kind of eye candy but I want my warrior to look cool before she looks sexy, there’s half the Internet for the latter. =P
If I could make a request for my warrior’s armor, it would be something that looks knightly like the Elite Templar Armor from Guild Wars 1. It reveals some cute leg skin but it still looks like heavy armor and the lady looks very heroic wearing it.
I think it would also be really cool to have a berserker armor; something that looks like Diablo II’s barbarian. To justify that being in the “heavy” armor class, make the kilt and boots in metal and make the chest armor include metal bracer and big shoulder, but leave the chest exposed.
Yea there are some awesome skins/tattoos for the sylvari and norn, but if u play any non cloth wearing class all those are hidden away in armor. Just the option for more clothing choices or skimpier clothes would be nice. But there’s a difference between kittenty and attractive clothing!
Red circles heal you. Just relax.
i think the current set of armours are pretty broad in how skimpy they can be and ofc how armoured up you can look.
It doesn’t have to look like a swimsuit or exotic-dancer outfit.
But really, take a look at the pix from any red-carpet fashion thing. People do not wear hugely poofed out skirts, or trenchcoats.
Skimpy is nice, so is really form fitting the only thing I don’t like are those armours that make you look as if you just jumped out of a giant cake. They seem popular though

Their has to be some town clothing swimsuits and dancer outfits. With diving and dance abilities.
I think it’s fine the way it is… I’m actually quite happy that they decided to make some armour actual armour for females instead of chain bikinis.
I’m sure you could mix and match a few pieces from the human or norn cultural armour sets to get the look you’re going for though.
i want pants! why is it so hard to include light armor pants that looks detailed and not ugly?

Chain bikinis would make great town clothing.
As long as for any stripperific armor introduced there will be one for people that prefer more complete clothing, i see no problem.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
I agree, skimpy is better. Or at least let us choose armor from skimpy or robot ones.
Don’t really care. I stopped kitten to game toons back in the elementary.
I don’t see it as any sort of priority, personally, but I’m fine with more revealing armors as long as there’s an equal number of more realistic ones (of which there are proportionally more at this time anyway).
Why do some want every new revealing armor to have a one non revealing armor counterpart?
When this game is really lacking revealing armor to begin with.
The gladiator armors are pretty skimpy.
So are certain pieces here and there. Like the Vigil Chest.
Ele’s seem to be the skimpiest of all.
Anet lied (where’s the Manifesto now?)
Sure – but please -more skimpiness for males. Thanks.
My pathetic sense is tingling.
For those of us who don’t want to see countless obvious fantasies of vastly overweight males running around, perhaps an option to hide said players?

Because girls complain about skimpy armor on females.
did someone say skimpy, this is my lvl80 ele … dont think you can get any more skimpy than this.
I strongly disagree, sure, guess they can add some town clothes like that but I for one was glad to see that female armor is actually armor, nothing makes me roll my eyes more then the skimpy “armor” you see for female characters in many games, same with high heels. Tera being the most extreme example, so over the top I view that game as a parody! :P
When it is like that it just become so obvious that they target young teens and give them something to drool about.
I want a hero and want my character to look like one.
I would like to see more of this type armour with a pants option- think cat woman ;D
but skimpy can be nice too.
I want less skimpy armour. please leave the skimpy kitten to the lesser mmo’s that i have no interest in playing. or atleast give us male skimpy armour so as i feel males are degraded also ty..
I like skimpy armour, heehee… I mean, I’m a girl, but I like my characters to look sexy all the same. My Norn is hot. She’s just so buxom and beautiful! I gotta show off those gifts to the world.
But +1 for having sexy male armour, there’s a set my Guardian is wearing… Pit Fighter I think. It shows off his chest very nicely!
Personally I made the biggest most ripped norn female I could find and then stuck her into the bulkiest piece of armor in the game. That’s attractive!
Im a guy that plays a Sylvari female. I deliberately try to avoid wearing skimpy outfits, this being helped by the fact im a warrior and wear heavy armour. I see this as part of my character- she prefers to rely on her armour to shield her rather than ‘magic’ which is clearly what protects the more ‘skimpy clad’ characters running around. She’s not prudish, just would prefer to remain ‘appropriate’.
That being said im all for skimpy outfits on other characters. It creates a nice balance with the huge Charrs and Norn running around with a metric tonne of metal hanging from them. Anything that creates diversity is a good thing in my opinion.
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
I want more skimpy armor for men and more bulky armor for women. When I roll my Mesmer, I want to put him in the miniskirts my Ele suffers through.
Some high heels for my female characters would be nice too!
On this I do disagree unless it is town clothes. Climbing rockfaces, fighting and even running in high heels just does not look right.
I don’t mind if others want to run around an a couple of straps of clothing as long as I can get something to wear too without having to pay an exorbiant price. I may pity your characters wearing their bikini in the snow though. ;P
Options, i want options….
Anyway i’m waiting for to anet to add loads of town clothes
Some examples of outfits i would buy for my necro girl the moment they arrive on the gemstore
- schoolgirl outfit
- bunny girl
- a non outfit
- almost anything linegerie
- swimsuits
More armor options would also be highly welcome
On a sidenote:
We all know the more skinrevealing an outfit is , the higher the armor rating
