Just something that I have noticed, everything ascended is being renamed to the item that gave the stats,

My Foefire’s Essence was renamed to Zojja’s Claymore
My Whisperblade was renamed to Zojja’s blade

I kinda think this is a bit annoying, I take pride in the name of my shineys :’( now everything has the same generic names.

So im enjoying the patch until I read this post….and realise something horrid. Since about level 20 (a day after the games release?) ive owned a rifle obtained during my personal story called the Potent Avenger. Ive transmuted it onto every rifle ive owned including my now ascended rifle. The name….is now no more.

Is this a bug or a permanent change? If its the latter ANET have taken away probably the most important item I own in GW2. If this is the case i’ll be asking for the original Potent Avenger back as I was not told of this change prior to the patch.

Having the same issue with all of my transmuted items. I’d transmuted my Primeval gear onto Flame Legion stuff for zerker stats, but all the pieces have had their names changed :/

Please change the item name to the name of the skin and not the base item, ANET.

Has there been any mention of this bug so far from ANET?

This is an issue and an annoying one at that.

Yea, it really should keep the name or give us a choice of which to select. It is not just about the model and textures but also the name of the item itself. I doubt it is a bug, but it really should be because this change really does not make any sense.

If I want to transmute my sword into a (e.g.) Rinblade, then it should look and have the name of one.

I expect that it is working as intended.

If it were a bug, a community manager would have stepped up and said “Hey this is a bug, they are looking into it” by now. They are fairly quick when it comes to acknowledging bugs.

There have been lots of questions about this and they have gone unanswered. And if you look at the last month of posts about this patch, its been a trend that any sort of feedback, criticism, suggestion, complaint or adverse opinion has been met with deft silence.

The new approach seems to be that if we are unhappy with something to ignore us until we go away.

I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised. I did notice this on my affected items.

Or whatever the original name was. I can’t say I’m happy about that. I would rather have them reversed because the stats are far less important than the looks, and the name should reflect that.

There are other topics about this but one more won’t hurt.

Even if it’s working as intended it’s just bad design. Everything I have now is called Zojja’s xyz .. annoying.

My full ascended armour set is called Zoija’s despite the fact that it clearly is not. Same goes for all of my weapons that have been transmuted. I just dont understand how this ‘feature’ helps us as players. It doesnt make things clearer for new players as it shows that multiple armour pieces that look different have the same name. If not to make things clearer why make the change in the first place?
