Dear ANet,

can you please (pretty please with Skritt sugar on top) make the Skritt Burglar into a champion?

She only spawns in low level areas, which nowadays are full of downleveled but fully geared level 80s and goes down within seconds. She doesn’t have much chance to aggro, let along transform anybody.

I think I’ve seen her maybe 6 times over the course of my GW2 life (and I’ve been playing since release). I have one of the four achievements, which I got very early on, must’ve gotten caught in the crossfire before I even knew what I was doing. Now I have no hope at all of getting the other three.

But wouldn’t it be so, so, so much more fun if she had the hit points of, say, any of the Queensdale champions? People would call her out in /map, others might even have time to portal/run there, and she would have a few seconds at least to aggro and transform one or the other player.

Not just ‘because achievements’, but also because I think that it’s a super fun concept that is completely lost on anybody new nowadays unless they go and read up on what was initially supposed to happen when she spawns.

bad idea, she often doesnt spawn in populous areas, and the goal is to kill her before she escapes, which means, champion will fail EXTREMELY often. everytime I ve seen her ive been alone

The goal is to keep her alive (for example by using only white weapons and 1 skill) so she has the chance to transform you before she dies, which is pretty much instantly.

I have all of the Skritt Burglar achievements except for 1. I found her the other day in the one I needed for the achievement and followed her around. My skill 1 hits were taking off maybe 1/6th of her health (level 80 ele.. not even zerker). She died before she transformed me, and I tried really hard to not hit her ever.

Skritt Burglar spawns with extreme frequency in Wayfarer Foothills. In the extreme south of the map in the Svanir cave near the wolf shrine, and at one of the huts near Svanir’s Dome. I kill her off 3 times a week at least just doing dailies.

She has like a really short range that she will travel, a champ would always get away. If you’re the only one doing it you will always get transformed as long as you don’t kill her off in the first 20 seconds. The drops are really not useful, but adding a champ bag to it wouldn’t really make it more popular.

I always announce it (maguuma) when I find it at Dome before doing the Dome champ. I don’t know if she scales up with more players but I doubt it.

I’m not sure but I think I need one more transform. Jackalope is obviously her favorite…

The transformation is determined by the map in which she is located. I’m still yet to get Jackalope, followed her for quite a while before I eventually killed her. Couldn’t open the achievement panel to check if it was indeed the achievement I still needed…

You could also make her not despawn. Just, hm, give us a chance to actually fight (as opposed to one-shot) her and admire her mechanics.

I discovered the skritt burglar by accident while fleeing from a champion spider and stumbling upon a pile of clickable rubble in Metrica Province. My guardian was two levels below it at the time and sported a hammer (so almost no ranged skills) which resulted in me chasing the skritt through half the map before finally managing to kill it and complete the event.

I don’t think it transforms you while running. I got turned into a siamoth when I clicked on the rubble and it spawned. But not during the chase despite the fact that I was alone and it lasted a very long time. So much so that I was worried that I will fail the event.

Jackalope is Wayfarer Foothills. And she’ll turn you into something if you try to cc her or slow her down, but it also depends on how many people are there who gets transformed.

Sounds like her range is more like she got far enough away from her pursuers that she got away instead of a fixed point that she has to reach.

I got only one burglar. The one in Kryta. In there, it does transform you when you smash the skritt. But it has low chance. Like 20 percent or so. So you can kill it before you get transformedd and not get the achievement. Stupid. I stopped caring for these long ago.

Funny, every time I’ve ever run into the Skritt burglar there were at least 6 other people there, so no, no transformations :’-(
