Snap Ground Target Toggle
I’d like it. I mean the quick and dirty fix is to just clear your target so you can manually aim, but then I sometimes accidentally target something and it’s just a mess.
I would also like it as a toggle as sometimes snapping isn’t optimal and it would be more convenient than to go into options to turn it on/off.
Also I’d like to see changes to how it affects targeting for skills not meant to be used on hostile targets, such as the throw elixir skills.

It works, but as you said not very well. Considering you can target virtually anything it can be quite the pain at times to find an empty spot to click to clear your target. This is especially the case in big meta events where there are lots of people, creatures, placeables, and materials.
That’s not even to mention the fact that now you’re fighting “blind”. I like to watch my targets conditions/boons/break bar/health/etc.
I hope that this gets implemented. You mention this would be helpful for Engineer but I see it being viable for a lot, if not all of the classes. I hardly ever use the snap ground to current target because I don’t like to then be forced into holding down a button in order to manually position my abilities. It just doesn’t make sense why this isn’t a toggle on/off rather than press and hold.
i tried this on thief in pvp with out thinking properly, infiltrators arrow into Dh – and traps.. never will use this again ;p
gw1 – healing signet/frenzy/charge
I hate it when I accidentally click on another player when using this feature. This usually happens when I am trying to clear the target and I click a player instead and I start throwing my nades at them…… It’s great. OP’s suggestion would help that. So yes please.
Yeah, I’d agree. A toggle is something I’d use.
As Andraus pointed out, occasionally targeting a friendly can screw some classes up more than others. But I’d imagine some people might still use the feature for targetting friendlies. But going into options every time I swap classes is rather inconvenient.
Finally, I don’t think the dev time investment would be overly taxing to toss the feature in.
I know the Dev’s have a lot on their plate, and this isn’t a priority by a long shot, but I also can’t imagine it’s a terribly involved script change. At least something small to put on their “to do” list.
A toggle would be great, but it should be a 3rd option in addition to the current two. I wouldn’t want it to replace the current “hold to snap to target” functionality.
