So....That's it...?
Instead it’s almost like we went from helping them build a settlement and in the middle of a giant catastrophe we saw fireworks and ran off screaming “FESTIVAL!!!!” and left them there to die.

Southsun Cove was just to tide us over while other content was being worked on. The word they use was “bridge”, but it should be fairly obvious.
As far as keeping us busy goes, it was certainly successful. A majority of players enjoyed the Instigator karmatrain, while others like myself enjoyed our stay farming barracudas.
I would say it’s successful.
The problem as I see it….
If they leave the events as is, no one will go to Southsun anymore. Several of those events require a HUGE zerg of players to have any hope of finishing them.
The other issue…as I am sure others noticed…dying is impossible to completely avoid there. I don’t know if it is a glitch, but several times the game allowed me to WP into a contested location and insta-die. Or 5 dozen karkas would just “materialize” around me in a location that was peaceful seconds ago.
I don’t mind challenging content, but Southsun’s current mechanics involve dying no matter how skilled or careful you are.
I feel the same way. The battle with Canach seemed to imply that there was going to be more to the story but nothing really happened. I’m feeling like this event was just poorly thought out filler in order to keep up with the promise of monthly content updates.
Yeah, I mean I’m not saying it shouldn’t be totally conflict free and dandy where everyone’s holding hands and skipping together, or anything but for being a ‘living story’ and attempting to emulate a ‘living world’…I’m saying it’s very anti-climactic….I was expecting a real sense of finality with a final stage of the settlements being complete, or at least more or mostly complete, with more safe-zone settlements where we would have “settled” settlers celebrating Dragon Bash and/or their freedom.
I really don’t like how it seems like we didn’t accomplish anything.
