When saying this, I’m thinking specifically of runes/sigils, that drop from dungeon chests or the Mystic Forge. I think that if you do not control which character acquires the item (karma items, for example, you buy on a specific character, therefore you have control), then the item should be account bound. There have been plenty of times that I’ve gotten runes that I would have loved to use on my Engineer – except that my warrior got them while forging.

I feel like there are very few instances in which soulbound on acquire makes sense, at this stage in the game. The primary exception is karma-bought gear, or perhaps the Order armours.

I tend to agree. Silly me, I picked up a pair of daggers in WvW for another character and then realized later they were soulbound. Oh well…

i don’t think anything should be soulbound, account bound maybe, but soulbound is just annoying if you have alot of alts.

Yeah, souldbound needs to be scrapped. I wish the whole accountbound thing would disappear too but let’s start with scrapping souldbound.

I agree! Soulbound has annoyed me to no end! I have things that I can’t stack because they are soulbound. I have to be careful about what I create for which character because stuff gets soulbound. I’ve picked up some awesome exotics and skins before that I would have loved to use on other toons but had to vendor them because they were soulbound on acquire! The absolute worst is when i place a soulbound item in storage and forget which character it’s bound to.

If it HAS to be bound, let it be accountbound!

aye, that whole souldbound to another character is REALLY annoying. But no, I don’t want to know which character, just let me use it on all my characters, please and thanks! >.>

At least there was a workaround before the change to transmutation occurred. You could take a soulbound rune received from the mystic forge and apply it to a white item then take that item and transmute to another character’s armor.
Now the way the transmutation charges work that is not going to happen. The runes from the mystic forge are useless unless you can apply them to that specific character you used to get them.
Please consider making them accountbound Anet. If it happens to be an exotic level rune it can’t even be thrown back into the forge.
