Spell effects a bit much?
I think you can turn off or limit effects in your settings easily.

Fingers have been crossed for awhile now in the hopes of receiving more options to reduce particle/ability effects, moreso now than ever with the megaserver.
I think you can turn off or limit effects in your settings easily.
No you can’t. That setting doesn’t work.
Just keep on zerging. There’s no need to see anything in front of you.
To be honest I really don’t care what others are casting at the mob. Unless it effects me directly (boons, ground heal aoe, effect fields, etc.) I’d prefer to turn them off completely
Save some life on my system, and save a bit of heat that my AC doesn’t have to counter =D
Been waiting for this, (and more armor looks) since 2 days after release.
Spell effects are perfectly fine.
If you look close enough, you can clearly see Dwaynas private parts ^ ^
Just a tip: If you turn off Post-Processing, it helps a great deal.
Actually they should allow us to hide everything but the boons/heals/current combo starter on the ground, or something…
For christmas I’d like to get a crossbow for my characters.
With love, a cute kitty.
We do have an option to limit effect detail.
It has only two setting, on or off, “Effect LOD” (Limit detail of particle effects.)
It doesn’t seem to do much of a good work tho.
And turning off Post-Process, that’s despicable! I love the overall effects that come with it…
But then, we’d need “combat effects” and “PvE-only Culling” options.
Can only see players and their dazzling skill effects, but not always the mobs trying to kill me.
I rarely do PvP or Hard PvE, unless it’s organized.
This was a problem in another mmo I used to play (won’t name names here but it starts with an ‘R’) and was a huge problem in open world dynamic events. Everyone referred to each boss as simply “that glowing white ball of light” and for good reason. This particular game was far less reactive when it came to the combat too; no tells to dodge and just displayed cast bars to interrupt.
What that game eventually did worked pretty well. They made a small option in the graphic settings that disabled all effects from other players while still displaying yours.
I hope someday GW2 will incorporate a similar option since I’d like to actually see what Malchor keeps going on about.
I’t a running joke in GW2 that you cannot see the bosses and champions during fights.

Really? It just makes everything look all glowy and soft-light, like a 20 year-old’s “#nomakeup #nofilter” selfie on Instagram.
