Anyway you can stop these spoons from dropping once you’ve added them to your collection? They are more like a big fat 10s middle finger to the face when they drop.

That would completely ruin our guilds internal competition of who gets a full stack of fractal spoons first. >:l

And besides it’s a free 10s drop which tends to be lot more than most other loot you get from mobs.

As Taku said: it’s junk worth 10s. which is far better than regular junk. I prefer to get spoons than whites, blues, and greens. I just hope it’s not replacing a rare I would of otherwise received (they are too common to be replacing exotics).

I, too, hate getting a free 10s vendor item. I would much rather have another garbage masterwork item that sells and/or salvages out to less than 10s.

Until a dev says otherwise. I’m under the impression that any time a spoon drops, it did not take up the slot of what would have been an exotic.

I’m not sure but I think once you complete the spoo achievement collection, you won’t get any more spoon drops.

I’d rather drop Teq’s spoon every single time and sell it for 10s than the Karka Queen’s Settler recipe which I basically have to destroy now ><

i got it on the 2nd Tequatl event after the achievement update. ever since, almost everybody who’ve i played with got this spoon over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. it became a joke, you get tons of greens and the only exotic is the spoon

One way to fix the Teq one could be to make it a completely separate drop (ie not taking the rare/exo drop spot) that has a chance to drop. I believe they’ve already done that with a different chest (BLTCs I think), where you always get the X number of items and then there is the chance to get another bonus item (in this case the spoon).

I prefer a 10s junk item than a 1s junk item. They should be auto sold when you click “Sell Junk” though, not even kidding.

I do hope they are located in the Junk part of the loot table though, and not taking place of a rare or something actually useful.

19 Celestial Ascended Rings here from running fractals, maybe I can get a full stack before you can get stack of spoons.

example: 100 fractal spoons + 250 ectos + item 1 +item 2 = Fractal skin box
Allows u to pick a skin of your choice.

Same can be done for Tequatl spoon etc.

That would be sweet, especially if the Teq one gave a Teq’s hoard. Though all those that complain about the ‘prestige’ in at least the fractal skins would throw a hissy fit about the change though.

Shrug, they are 10 silver each. I would rather have one of them than a 1 or 2 silver green or blue. Since they are labeled as a trophy, presumably they don’t take the place of an exotic weapon or armor.

The couple of times I’ve gotten an exotic drop from Teq, it was from a gilded strongbox. The spoon comes from the big chest itself. The spoon might not displace an exotic but replaces another green or blue.

It’s a nice bit of money, but it sucks that it takes up an inventory spot.

I would like all the collectible items like this to be able to drop into Mystic Forge in hopes of other items even it were only items for other collections. At least it is nice we can sell them but I would like to see the chance of getting some of the rarer collectible items via Mystic Forge as well.

And that’s the real question is it not? Are junk items of higher end rarity add ons or in lieu of possibly more coveted items? This applies to not only spoons, but to tonics, recipes, our new collection trigger items krait, grawl, ogre, etc…), and the like.

I do know tonics take a slot out of a chest in dungeons . . . but haven’t noticed the spoon for Tequatl being a problem. More like an extra item, from what I recall.

I’m still waiting on the stupid WvW and Fractal spoons.

Hi anet, I’d like you to stop giving me free money. Oh and please take back all the money I’ve made since the patch thanks to spoons. Oh don’t worry, my friends and I won’t care about the dozens of gold that are taken from me. Six months from now, if the spoons aren’t removed, we can look back and laugh at how I’ve made hundreds of gold by this time thanks to your silly spoons.

what about wvw spoons? those i’ve got close to a full stack of, about 230 last count. if they give you a teq weapon for spoons, should get something for wvw spoons too XD
