Is there any chance of this happening? I think after 2.5 years, and mass amount of players opening up BLC, many have most likely obtained a large amount of black lion salvage kits. I’m sure for most they are just taking up excess space in bank tabs that can be used for other things. Thoughts??

Of the list of items i would like to see stack in this game, and specifically the tiers of salvage kits, BLSK’s are somwhere around bottom priority on that list.

They are pretty easy to burn through salavaging level 80 dungeon armor for insignias.

Now, I wouldn’t exactly object to BLSK combining charges, but… I don’t even have that many of them in bank, and it’s easy to burn through them, just salvaging for ectos if nothing else.

People who can argue often offer a good and meaningful conversation about the subject.

Yes! Yes! Yes!

I have so many taking up space that it’s driving me crazy. I would love to have an option to stack them all up into one big kit that is similar to the mystic salvage kits and their 250 uses. Or maybe being able to mystic forge them into 100 use kits and then mystic forging those 100 use kits into 400 use kits. I need that space!

BLSKs are probably 1 of the most undervalued gem store items by the players.

Usually players should link their BLSK drops in map chat EVERY TIME they receive one to trigger blob-wide envy, hug their kittens in real life and shower their fur with tears of joy.

Using 1 BLSK charge should net you at least 1g profit, 2g, if you know the market a bit, 5g, if you know how to profit from all the globs of dark matter you gonna get and 10g during short term peak times. So its a value between 25-250g, I have seen exotics being linked in map chat for a lot less. At times, i bought gems with gold and then BLSKs and still made 2-3g per salvage.

Yet it seems very common to me that many players, especially veterans, pile up dozens of these without knowing what to do with it. Its a frequent question I get asked in game from friends and guildies.

I bet there are enough BLSKs stored away in banks without intent to bring a couple of markets tumbling, if people started using them up all at once.

I have at least 25 of these kits across all my accounts. And yes I have no clue what to do with them
So far I only use them to salvage items with valuable runes in them and keep them in bank for all eternity if there is no exo with good rune/sigill

Very few people are interested in looking at spreadsheets all the time to see how they can maximize the profit out of everything. I know I want to play instead of looking at excel sheets or similar.

I would like all “charge” items like gathering tools of the same type, and salvage kits to stack to 250.

I also know that’s not really going to happen since the Mystic Salvage Kit exists.

The problem is that they are not “stacked” nor are they even charges. They are single items which “break” after a set number of uses.

You can’t stack two broken hammers to make a less broken hammer.

While that may just be a technicality, it is the reason these things never ‘stacked’ in the first place.

More like 15min, it takes me max. 30 seconds per account unless I do more than just collecting the login chest of course. Quick loading speeds because of SSD help a lot.

Considering each account makes about 60g per 28 days (without considering stuff like black lion kits) its 28x 30 seconds = 14min. 60g/14min = 4.28g per minute. Not bad for something you dont have to spend attention to and can read a book or look at TV at the same time.

I’ll admit, I do have a pile of these around 45 full kits. I only use them to salvage exo’s i don’t forge, and to get specific runes, etc. I haven’t had the time to actually find a profitable way to use the kits that I would like to do. In the meantime I would just like them to take up less space. Any push in the right direction for ways to make me use these more often I would gladly consider. Even if its just an idea to research. I am not asking for someone to give away their trade secrets. Just for some ideas.

Actually, i was just using one example. But never once did i make this a matter of judging someones understanding and assuming someone doesn’t know anything. Salvaging insignias are not guaranteed. In fact in my experience I don’t receive the them more often than actually getting them. Some people actually prefer making larger returns than smaller ones. It is a preference. As for calculations, math is math. Not sure how you can really calculate differently when it comes to profit? Regardless, instead of criticizing someone, maybe offering a solution or an example WITH numbers or facts to express your point, would be a better option.

I also didnt assume that someone doesnt know anything, I just stated that some people have a better understanding of it than others.

Yes this is true, but even saying you get the 3 ecto (86s after taxes), shamans insignia (1.53G after taxes), 3 ori (11s after taxes) plus rune (25s) you are looking at 2.75G per charge. Therefore, if you were to buy a kit outright with gems thats 300 gems or 44G, so 1.75G per charge subtracted from 2.75G, you make 25 gold a kit. which is good if you get kit for free for some people. But it my eyes im losing 19G. If that makes sense.

I stand corrected, that is correct. My apologies. Hence 1G/charge, I feel over all there could be better options to get more out of using a kit is such a matter though.

BUT, back to the original topic, regardless of using kits for making any profit, still doesn’t mean stacking them should be an issue.

Or…just take anything with ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ into your inventory and change maps. Afterward, they will stack.

BLSKs are probably 1 of the most undervalued gem store items by the players.

I always thought they were awesome, but I’m also pretty sure I don’t understand how to maximize their utility. So, out of caution I have probably 4.2 of these banked. I’m starting to get a little bit of an overflow of Exotics in my bank too from sPvP, so it’s likely one problem can solve the other.

Would you mind PMing me with maybe a little more step-by-step explanation of this? Maybe you have a cut-and-paste essay stored somewhere?

All similar items should stack regardless of their acquisition method to the default of 250. I can’t maximize the roi on these kits because I don’t get enough exotics to use them up. Each week with the daily black lion login reward I get a new one to put in storage. I get to use like 1 charge per 2 weeks with world boss runs – I’m not interested in dungeons, fractals, wvw, or pvp so these kits keep stealing spots in my bank and they’re so valuable that I can’t just delete them.

Dark matter is an extra 3g profit?

You get one every week from the Log In reward? Wow! RNG truly favors you! I get, more often than not, Bank Express or Revive Orb or Trading Post Express. =(

Crafting ascended insignias can be quite profitable.

They can’t make them stack because BLSK is one of many items created to clutter your bank and force you to buy more bank tabs.

Yes! Yes!

You are sitting on a gold mine there buddy..use them to salvage 80 exotics for insignia’s (as said earlier by someone) or ecto’s to obtain Crystalline dust (the ratio of getting Crystalline dust by BLSK is quite rewarding is my experience). Also obtain some luck on the side

Sharpen your justice. Dust off resolve. Brace your courage. The Guardian dragonhunter approaches.

They give it to you and you refuse to use them, instead you store them in your bank and complain that you have to buy more bank space?

Makes sense.

Or another option, remove the account bound part. Let’s make some deals. I know they won’t do this but, hey you never know. Good hunting flipping to you.

Am I? Because it can only be a gold mine if there were enough exotic drops (not dungeon token weapons) to actually use them on. That’s also assuming we’re talking about exotic armor pieces with high value runes.
