Also is the Rime-Rimmed Mariner’s Rebreather soul/account bound and obtainable only from wintersday boxes?

I must have it. I have like 10k empyreal fragments burning a hole in my pocket. It sounds like it will probably be easier to get than Mawdrey II which is nice. I hope it won’t be a case of miss one day, lose your chance though.

What you (probably) need to do is go through the story, check your mail and follow the clues. Dulfy has a guide for the parts that have already been released. You can do one step per day, total number of steps is currently unknown.

Go to your home instance and find the orphans standing next to a grawl. Talk to the grawl. Then go to the Sous-Chef in Black Citadel near the Mustering Ground waypoint (There is a peppermint candy icon on the mini map and large map showing his location). Buy a Bowl of Bloodstone Broth for 1 Tiny Snowflake (if you don’t have the snowflake yet you can buy 1 in the TP for cheap). Go back to your race’s home instance and give the food to the Grawl. Here is the tricky part: you can only give him 1 food item per day so you’ll have to wait, probably the next day’s reset. Second day you trade the Sous-Chef a Shiny Frying Pan (masterwork quality) for another food item. You get the Shiny Frying Pan from the renowned heart vendor here http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sentry_Triktiki. For the third day you trade the Sous-Chef a Superior Sigil of Mischief which you can buy from the TP for around 1 silver.

After you give the Grawl the 3 food items (takes 3 days) you get http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Orphan%27s_Generous_Gift which gives you a Wintersday Gift Tree for your home instance and a “special star item”.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Star_of_Gratitude says it comes from ’Orphan’s Generous Gift’. However, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Warming_Grawnk%27s_Heart says the reward is a Generosity’s Reward that contains the Wintersday Gift Tree and something called a “Slate-Bound Star”. I think the ‘Warming Grawnk’s Heart’ page is inaccurate on the reward.

From what I can tell you get the “special star item” after completing the ‘Warming Grawnk’s Heart’ mission.

I have been poisoning the grawl since day one, so judging from his life bar I assumed day 3 would… end things.

I just was unsure about how I could get the star, good to know it’s part of the reward!

You get the star after completing the For The Children collection which is unlocked after you kill the grawl with the bloodstone soups.
