Forums are a place for feedback. If no one complained, then Anet wouldn’t know what players wanted out of their game.

Most of these main threads are even created by Anet themselves to get feedback about the new features. They want to hear the complaints and concerns so they can “listen to our feedback”.

So telling people to stop “crying/complaining” completely goes against the whole purpose of these threads. If you don’t like it, go somewhere else. Your post contributes nothing to the feedback. Complaining about complainers is not very constructive and doesn’t provide any useful feedback for Anet.

Now when the changes are not in kiddies favor suddenly they are not happy anymore with “play something else”

The critics in this forum din’t have anything to do with an opinion is was pure crying about losing 30% damage output.
Believe it or not, the majority like that change.

GW1 is my favorite MMO, and I find this patch disappointing. Not for the berserker’s nurf, but for the changes in PvP. It’s too related to PvE now. If I don’t have a specific type of weapon in PvE, I can’t use that type of weapon in PvP. I’ll have to buy a very cheap one, and keep it in my inventory forever, even if I don’t use it in PvE. Customization in PvP has been reduced even more, since you can’t use different types of runes in different pieces of your armor. You have to pay gold and skill points to unlock traits, in PvP! You have to pay charges to use the skins you earned by playing PvP since the beginning of the game. You can’t create a level 1 character just for playing PvP (Similar to PvP only characters in GW1) because you won’t be able to apply skins to your armor since you won’t be wearing any (And again, you’ll have to give him weapons, PvE weapons). You have to complete dungeons in PvE if you want more rewards from PvP.

Well I may be wrong but the entire basis of the Bezerkers DPS build was “we kill this quickly to avoid the damage it can put out” correct? Seems to me a decrease in your damage leads to an elevated risk? I’m not saying the game will snap to a Trinity style approach but I think we’ll all be looking at more balanced builds in a month or so! And I don’t think that’s anything to be angry about, Bezerkers will still represent the high DPS option and be viable within a group!

I played several years, got all the swords in all coop missions, explored all the maps, did all the dungeons and reached tombs rank 9+, gladiator 4+ and champion 3+ titles in not one but two different accounts.

Now...

Why would I be happy about a patch that made my favourite activity virtually impossible to organise, made PvP even more of joke, removed RPG features that I liked and messed up my gear (yay Gear Wars 2) while giving ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in return?

Please explain to me, I’d really love to know.

Gw2 has no GvG, has pve that keeps getting worse and Pvp (lets not talk about that one).

If you really want people to play Gw1, they will realise that Gw2 has nothing to do with Gw1.

I have been saying this almost as long as I have been playing GW2, but GW2 is more like WoW than GW1 ever was, and there are things that are getting changed that apparently not just in my opinion make it more like WoW than it was before.

As far as the PvP and GvG levels in 1, I am not into that so have no idea how good it was over what is available in 2. However, I will say that there is no GvG in 2. People can cobble something together that resembles the GvG in 1, however, it is still not GvG, because the Game does not force it to be only 2 guilds/alliance fighting each other. The closest to it is WvWvW, which I feel is GvG on steroids, but is still NOT GvG.

There are some things in PvE (really in GW2 in general) that have been improved over how it was in 1.

  • Open map areas – improvement over 1
  • Not forcing the entire party into another area when 1 player goes into another area – improvement
  • Allowing the dyes to be unlocked across all armor pieces on one character, and now across the entire account – improvement
  • Allowing players to buy upgrades by way of gems with in game money and/or real world money to get more stuff in the game – improvement (but I do wish you could mail gems from 1 player to another)

That being said, here are some things I think were basically fine in 1 and should have been left alone for 2.

  • Dancing – Putting it into having to use these books to unlock special dances, mixed. I liked a lot of the dances from 1, and how they were based on both the profession and the gender of the character. Making the character dances here basically suck to encourage people to buy the books? Not cool.
  • Character classes from 1 – Screwed over in 2, guardian is basically a Warrior/Monk dual class from 1, but you should have left the professions from 1 as they were and added more, if possible, not rehash and try to replace the ones in 1. For the record, Thief is NOT Sin.
  • Not forcing dual class – Mixed, because I didn’t like it being forced in 1, but I also liked that you could if you chose to.

DPS cuts? WHAT DPS cuts? We ran some dungeons yesterday and noticed a few things..
(AC Path 1)
- Mobs became kitten…we were with a guild party of 4 people (instead of 5) and while two of us were fighting some gravelings, the other two sat down and were laughing..still we went through it like an incinnerator through snow..whilst doing normal DPS (no cutbacks noticed, no complaining here)
- the new thiefskill changes spongebob squishy thief into a tank…go with Fiery greatsword or S/P skill 3 instantly renews the healthpool (not complaining either)
- The fact that a dungeon is easier to run makes you think to do it over and over again..but the rewards for doing it the second time the same day are very much downgraded..which is good IMO

And overall…although the patch download time seemed to be very small…there are A LOT of details and handling changed and with care…so very great Job A-Net !

I am not a new player who just bought a new game. I’m an old player who has to buy gems to make the game survive.

The patch did next to nothing good for me as an old player – I have all my looks and dyes gathered already, most bugs I’m utterly tired of never got fixed, I don’t like PvP.

On the other hand, the game completely messed with things I enjoyed – world bosses, especially doing them with medium to small groups; the waypoints are a pain now; the Orr events turned into camp-the-map-and-hope-those-PuGs-fail-this-event-finally; zergs everywhere, even in cities, is discouraging; on the other hand, the light-minded source of T6 materials on the market which made supply higher and prices lower AKA Frostgorge train is in danger; the daily options have been cut down in half so I’m practically forced to do specific things if I want a laurel; my weapons got ridiculous names. See, I don’t even mention the zerk nerf – it’s not the thing in question.

Am I happy? No. Will I support ANet if I’m not happy? No, and the recent gold-to-gem conversions instead of cash-to-gems are the direct consequence. Will there be enough eternally happy new buyers which pay enough before leaving to make the game always go forward? No, because new players are a finite number.

20 level 80s and counting.

that there is something wrong fundamentally with the patch?

It’s not just about nerfing damage, there are other things messed up in the patch as well.

Granted they did design some nice features, some that I love, like the account-wide dyes, but there’s a can full of things wrong in the patch as well.

They’re favorite playstyle is now gone, I think they should be allowed to whine about it. Just like other things people are whining about. Patch is great overall, but it’s preposterously far from perfect. It seems like ANet really didn’t think out some of these changes very much.

Why is it gone? Berserker is still top damage. Bosses just take 5s more to kill. Besides, since almost every berserker player wields a greatsword, they have another sigil slot to compensate for the damage. Also the runes are reworked which in most cases contribute to higher damage.

Correct me if I’m wrong but while ferocity reduced the raw damage compared to crit damage, the extra sigil slot for gs and the reworked runes make up for the loss.

Thief, wvw zerg player – Thieves have few options to get rid of conditions, therefore I need runes and traits which are all not in the power line. So there is no way for me to just even it out by new runes or a new sigil (already had two anyway) or to chose other traits as I still need the same ones so I won’t die that easily to conditions.
I have been able to solo roam and to play in a zerg before the update, now I have to chose whether I want to be a zerg thief or a roaming thief – and to me that’s a massive loss.

I find this funny, everytime someone doesn’t like something someone says, that person is part of a “vocal minority”, but then when that person feels they’re right, everyone is behind them? Hahaha.

My complaint is mesmer bugs and limited dying abilities on town clothings. These are bugs, not whining, these need to be fixed. Maybe OP you should realize this before generalizing everyone negatively.
