[Suggestion] Account wide skillpoint pool
Its probably not going to happen, but this would also take care of the problem of too much skill point scrolls.
its a very nice suggestion.
but incase this never happens just save up skill point scrolls.
also u can trade in 35 fractal relics for 1x skill point. and also tomes of knowledge gives u a skill point + a lvl
so there is plenty of ways to give alts skill points. just not as fast
Fractal lvl 80 – 126 AR
I’ve been wanting this too.
Karma was moved to account based.
And with the wallet, gold and all other currencies were too.
It only makes sense and would be very helpful.
Critical Impact [Crit]
I’ve 15+ Birthday lvlup-to-20 scroll (in 2 incompatible stacks, grrr)
I’ve now 70+ tomes of knowledge
I’ve over 750 skill point scroll,
most of my chars have a pool of 350+ (my main WvW-char 1100+) skill points.
Should I ever make new chars again (I’ve 10 already) I don’t need to play them anymore
Where is the sense in this skill-point inflation?
Yes please — this would be a great QoL change. I could finally pop those stacks in my bank!
I would like it, too. Jumping from my playable main to 500 specific profession crafter and back makes little sense.
I remember suggesting skillpoint extracting because of the new Trait system, but no one felt even closely interested and it will be phasing out soon anyway.
So, I can just create a new character and unlock every skill almost instantly? Yeah, sure. That sounds fair.
I wouldn’t mind this for level 80s with all skills and traits (since they can be unlocked via skill points since the change) unlocked; but even then – Heart of Thorns would throw a spanner into this.
To me, skill points aren’t a currency, they’re a form of each individual character’s progression. If they choose to convert some of that into an item and craft something with it, then so be it.

That’s already the case. You just have to walk to your bank currently.
Only Problem: my mouse will probably break, while I make my new revenant lvl 80 with 500+ skill points by doing nothing than tutorial and walking to the next bank.

I have over 1000 skill point scrolls. Whether they are in the bank for a new char to pull out and use or are in the wallet is a matter of inventory space, not a true objection to this idea.
As soon as I make the new profession, I’m going to feed it all the skillpoints it needs.

Sounds like “the good old days” to me.
Would be nice in some ways .. however i start to wonder when somebody asks for acountwide level-ups
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
Pooling skill points? Not such a grand idea.
But, I’d recommended something similar in other threads, where characters can convert skill points to account items, at a loss, to give their extras to other characters. Not sure what the return rate should be. 3:1? 5:1? …10:1? And probably make them only as a bundle, so 25:5 (partially to avoid all the godsbedarned clicking…).

For one, the new Masteries are account-bound and apply to all characters.

You are just a bit nerdy and the system was designed for casual players.
Do you make skill point quest points account bound too? Be careful about what your asking for account level your going to start to push the game into one play though per account.
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)
Server : FA
There is precedent for this idea you know.

Yeah, I would kinda like it if all the extra skill points (I’m not talking about the scrolls, I’m talking about the skill points in the hero panel) my main character has accumulated could be used to advance other characters, but I also understand all the concerns raised against such a proposal.
It’s just that all those hundreds of skill points feel a little wasted on my main when at the same time my latest character could really use them…
I don’t know, it would probably be a big QoL improvement for altoholics, but I totally understand if this change never happens.

This has been possible for a long time using skill point scrolls.
