that’s a really good idea, actually. And it’s already built into the game (they slowly introduced the megaserver to different maps) so it shouldn’t take too much work.

because people still have problems with organization for new events ( the tiers system ) and the guilds still have problem to recruit people from their server
Fact is we all have gotten allot for the Server communities and the’re a bit like Super Guilds for some of us and very important for the WvW players and organisation.
There have been indications that we might get Guild Halls at some point (I wish!!) but the servers need .. really need a home if we are to keep the great community spirit for more than just the WvW’ers
I think that not only Lion’s arch needs to be a server bound map , I think this needs to be done for all ‘city maps’ (divinity’s reach, Hoelbrak, …). Some guilds like to gather in such maps because sometimes Lion’s Arch is full.
Yes i fell that we lost this and all the time we speak about our guilds in pve maps some players have arguments because of theyr own server stuff. I understand why this megaserver is like this ..otherwise low servers players will be depresed by the numbers around them. One of the solution i wil propose to do is a server chat at least where people from my server that want to anounce private things have this option.
Or remove home server and wvw and eotm, that would fix. j/k.
Making LA server-specific would help WvW organizing at least a moderate amount. Right now when you put out the call for people to help there’s like a 50% chance you’ll actually draw more people from the enemy servers instead (blood in the water and all that).
It might also help RP players, though really making the five home cities server-specific might do more in that regard.
It’s been suggested before for all the cities. Honestly, if you can still join on your party members in other maps then I don’t see why not.
This should have been the case from the start of megaserver, and despite many calls for this, they went ahead and made everything megaserver. This severely hurts smaller wvw-population servers. They may have many that will go in to help when needed, but there is no practical way to make calls in pve because everyone is so separated.
It’s bad enough that guilds get separated into different copies of the maps, but even parties do so, and they are all on the same server. WvW for the non-stacked servers relied on pve map calls to get help when needed from guilds that aren’t 400+ active members. This may be too late for many server communities at this point, but it would still help some, and la is the best place to do so. I mean, if I can’t even be guaranteed my party, all in the same guild and same server, can stay together, you can’t use the excuse it would separate parties or restrict people helping each other (story instance should work without having to be in the same map as dungeons do, I do not remember if this is implemented yet or not), what would it hurt to have la be more as it was before, server based?
While I advocated to not apply the mega server to any major city when it got introduced. In hindsight I think that might spell doom for various racial cities, and the players that play those races, these at least feel somewhat busy again for their size…
But besides that, the ‘need’ for a server city is definitely there, and LA certainly makes the prime candidate, I’d be all for it.
