{Suggestion} Character portraits
Not opposed to the idea.

I think he’s referring to something that would display to the general public. Like perhaps on party members, or when you target someone.

yeah, but that gives you:
1) no close up choice.
2) zero or close to zero composing options, as you cannot play with the camera on the Y axis (x so so, as you can adjust that a bit in camera settings, though it is just awkward to do that while taking a pic)
3) zero chance to get a picture of a landscape whithout your character in the center spot.
So no, it wouldn’t be adding something that’s already here.
What I’d like, more than the ability to take a “selfie” is the ability to view our character on a plain (colour selectable) background for easy editing (for personal use, if there’s a legal issue). I see loads of people with cool pictures of all their characters together, but the slog of trying to get matching lighting on them all and then cutting them all out is a bit much for people with limited skills in that area.
No! Absolutely not.

I wouldn’t mind if it’s done right but I would actually prefer to have my characters portrait on the forum instead.
I think this would be a cool idea! I think developers have more important things to worry about with HoT coming up, but the idea of having personalized character image sounds great to me. Perhaps something like this could be used for the forum profile, guild roster, party member icons, etc. Maybe they’ll look into this for the future and maybe not. Either way, a little more personalization is never a bad thing imo.
