I think it would be nice if we could spend laurels on transmutation charges.
Thought I’d share the thought

Hmm I really like this idea. Laurels are limited by the month, so if someone wanted to spend a few on trans charges I don’t think it would hurt anything.

I like the idea, but because transmuation charges can be bought from the gemstore, I doubt that they’d make them more easily obtainable than they currently are.

It’s always nice to have more options to spend laurels.

However, the transmutation charges did become a lot more easy to earn, through the log-in rewards system in December. Before that they were only found in PvP, map completion and opening black lion chests, which not everyone engages in doing.

So as to whether they would add another option of acquiring them when the had just recently done so, it seems a little too far of a stretch, especially as they are also providing some profit from the store.

That is true. It’s also true though you can get them for free already if you do the PvP dailies (one every other day) or 3 every 28 logins or by doing city completions, and people make and delete alts for that. Since the game hands then out so easily, charges for laurels is a viable possibility.

^—- this is what I was thinking. Honestly I would never use laurels for trans charges, they just aren’t that hard to get. I just think it’s a nice idea for those that would want a short cut to getting more.

I wanted to point out if you go to the vault in the new Lion’s Arch (where all the black lion weapon skin merchants are), there is a Boost Enchantment Researcher in there that sells all types of boosters for coins (XP booster, WvW booster, Gathering booster, etc.). These are the very same boosters you can buy in the gem shop, except you can buy them for silver/gold. The merchant also sells that Boost Enchantment Powder as well as letting you convert boosters into other boosters for coins. I think the Black Lion Trader (Armorsmith) does this as well.

Since we can get gem store consumables (boosters) for coins from a merchant of some kind, I think it would be nice to do the same for transmutation charges.

You cannot buy boosters for silver/gold, you CONVERT boosters for silver/gold.

About the transmution charges, as many have said there is a lot of ways to get them already, I go through so many having 16 level 80 and yet I still have loads left, do more spvp and map completes sethy :P

You can do that now in a roundabout way.
Laurels -> Gold, buy Heavy Crafting Bag to open and sell the mats.
Use the gold to level a new character to 10. #1
With this newly minted character, do a Lion Key run.
Reroll.
Repeat.

Granted this is highly inefficient. Instead;
Level that character as high as possible via funds. #2
Map complete anywhere you feel worth doing. #3
Do more story, if you’ve hit the tiers that reward a key. #4
Repeat until bored/have more laurels to do so again.

Don’t have a slot free? Use the laurel gold to buy one first, treat the initial cost as an investment.

There are some websites out there that show current cheapest prices to craft. I don’t use them so simply google.

RNG Tranny’s and LKey’s on completion (unless they changed it). Rata Sum and Grove are rather quick. Any racial city is easy to get to and free to wp.

Story also gives a fair amount of exp so it may bump you up to a tier that does reward a key.

Sadly skill points no longer exist, they were a nice way to make extra cash from rolled characters. Also can do the pvp daily as the tracks give a fair amount of charges (just chug the potions as you get them). Practice arena or servers based on daily will generally finish it fast.

This is correct. the OP confused me as well, so i just went in to verify – you can buy boost enchantment powder directly, or can SELL your boosters and pay an equal amount of gold to the cost of boost enchantment powder, to convert boosters of a specific type into the generic, selectable ones.

I imagine that’s what had the OP confused.
