[Suggestion] New Ground Targeting Option.
If you mean the target set with the mouse pointer, then I have a word to say too.
When I use mesmer’s blink, it would be nice if the target stops at max range. In rough terrain the target may slip too far, and that means I have to press skill key again. I loose time, and loose fight when blink fails. (But maybe pointer targeting is one of the game challenge!)
When I use pointer targeting, I loose turning control. A and D are too bad for turning: I easily overturn. I don’t have to stop, but I run straight over edges and against walls
In any case, the pointer is lost in the screen too often. When I release the right mouse button, it would help if the pointer then starts from the center of screen.
I suggest reversing the behavior, as option: turning is by default on (like in Skyrim), and when pointer is needed, player has to keep right mouse button pressed. An optional toggle key to change this behavior would help too. In WvW/EotM, I keep right mouse button pressed 99% of the time.
What are those other options for ground targeting?
The options for ground targeting currently are show indicator in key press and cast on key release, cast where your pointer is and the normal which is indicator follows pointer and when u click the spell gets cast.
Most of the time I don’t click on mobs to target them it automatically targets when I attack. After the initial attack the mob will be targeted unless u want a specific mob then there are other options u can use to select targets. In the control options it shows 3 options to target enemies and 3 for allies but there are 2 that aren’t mentioned for enemies and at least 1 for allies.
