Suggestion: Roleplayer Flag - Megaserver help
An RP flag (that would be visible to others, and also determine which megaserver you end up on) would be great.
This flag could be added to the already existing statuses “Online”, “Away” and “Invisible”. Simply a new status “RP mode”.
And a RP chat, which will hold all emotes and messages if you’re in “RP mode”.
It should function like the normal /say chat and emote messages, just with the difference that you can either hide this chat or any other chat.If done so, they could also add a new report option, “violating chatrules”, if someone uses the RP chat to insult RPlers. He would be punished with not being able to use the RP chat anymore.

It would be a great idea if not for the unavoidable fact that ANet hates RPers. That’s why they go out of their way to destroy anything relevant to RPers and have never done even one thing to support RPers in any meaningful way.

IT could be done in the character screen – pretty easily and then give them an RP chat channel.
A.Net does not hate RP’ers – your statement belies the fact they said that RP guilds will be on the same mega server to help with this.
Kal – you do not know what you are talking about.

Wow? They said that? Based on what? RP guilds will be on the same instance because the algorithm puts you together with your guild and your server as priorities. If you’re in an RP guild on one of the few UNOFFICIAL RP servers then you will, be default, find yourself with more RPers than not, as long as there is room for you in the zone.
Don’t mistake this for ANet caring even a little bit for RPers. Yes, I was exaggerating when I said they hate us. That’s absurd. But to believe they care enough to add anything to the game that will directly benefit RPers over anyone else is just silly. In the roughly year and a half the game has been out they have done not a single thing to indicate that the needs of RPers are even remotely on their radar. On top of that they have actively made changes and implemented features that 100% interfere with RPers doing their thing.
So don’t come in here and try to tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. Name one thing they have actually done, not said, to improve conditions specifically for RPers and I might consider anything you have to say on the topic.

There is no sinister ANet agenda to disrupt RP and inconvenience RPers.
There’s zero useful outreach to us either. We are a non-concern. Clearly, at no point in the development of any of these features have they said “how will this impact the Roleplaying Community?” Other Communities get dedicated full-time development teams, we don’t even get remembered during their planning sessions.
The only advice we’ve been given, “Join a Big Guild”, is completely ignorant of the structure of most casual RP. For a lot of us, most RP is walk-up style with strangers. When we do make RP guilds, they tend to be small-to-medium sized, and friendly with a handful of other RP guilds with compatible stories. Also, not all of my alts are in any one RP guild. Each one is a different character with a different storyline, and they don’t all fit in the same groups. I’ve got my five Guild Slots filled with five different small close-knit guilds, and wish I could have a dozen more. I wonder if a super-helpful dev will come in and help me decide which guild I should quit, which storylines I should abandon, which characters I should put on the shelf, so I can join some Mega-Guild whose only value to me is weighting Merged-Overflow(1) Selection?
(1) – Megaserver is their word. This was a Server Merge, with a marketing buzzword to diminish the “Game is Dying” bad press.
