I think as far as skins go we need more:
Black Lion skins with effects: Time Keeper and Bloodstone were good as they had moving effects and are very nice but some of the others that were released recently have been very meh. When there is a weapon set I like I buy them… ALL of them.
Here are the good ones that I liked and why:
Bloodstone: Cool Effect and nice color combo, Black and Red is always a classic and the weapons had nice lines
Spectral: Nice use of the “ghost” motif and cool side effects. Coolest blue themed weapons released
Timekeeper: these were my favorite in a LONG while. Excellent movement, nice lines and particle effects… just cool
Balthazar: Kind of kitten weapons… nice molten core texture thing going on. This is probably my favorite pistol design
Dominator: Not the best… but nice color combo (unusual) and very nice lines

Here are some of my least favorites and why:
Improvised: All of them are ugly
Gallant/Cavalier/Embellished: I get that these are for players that want more realistic looking weapons with cleaner designs but we are playing a game with giant horned cats and flower people… come on. I grouped these together because I dislike them all for the same reason. Again… I get some people like them but do we REALLY need 3 sets for those people?
Tempest: The effect was cool but I don’t think the devs did enough with the wind element.
Dwayna’s: Gross color combo. Little variety in shape and look between weapons.
Dreamthistle: The effect is kinda cool I guess I just don’t think it is as cool as some of the others
Glittering: Are these supposed to be weapons for female characters? Their presence is insulting. Seriously though I could see how someone might like them but I have never seen a character with a theme to match them nor does the available armor really support one.
Soaring: These look like they were very rushed. They glow kinda… thats it.
Merciless: These were actually really cool looking weapons but just are kinda meh when i see them on a character
Plasma: Cool design… but yellow? Really?
Privateer: Whoever decided to make Account Bound Black Lion skins messed these up. The only chance they had was on the trading post. These weren’t that good looking and now… if you got them… guess what… you’re stuck with them. They are very plain… and account bound.

Here are ones I think you should bring back:
Fused Weapons: I know they were rewards but that are so amazing! Good animation, nice lines, cool colors
Mordrem Weapons: Wasn’t a huge fan when they came out but they are growing on me. One of the only cool unique orange/blue weapons with a decent animation
Phoenix Weapons: A kitteneesey but still nice from time to time.
Immortal Weapons, Torment Weapons and Chaos Weapons: I think these are everyone’s all time favorites. I also think they should be brought back every year on the anniversary of GW1 release for just 24 hours. I definitely think we should be able to buy the Immortal weapons out right.

UNRELATED to that I also think the gem store should go back to offering armor sets (not just the one peice costumes) so we can mix and match a bit more. The first thing I ever bought from the gem store was my Elementalists flame armor with the nice effect. I was hoping you guys would actually release good ones for each of the elements like in the original guild wars (fire, lightning, ice, earth).

I’d also like some more chaos effect armor. A Margonite outfit would also be cool to match with the torment weapons. I just really wish it could go back to being mix and match armor. I feel like then we get really cool combos and huge variety.

I feel like we DON’T need:
-Account Boosters
-Gathering Tools
-Minis
-Back Packs that don’t do anything or have any animations
-Mail Carriers
-Dye kits that are basically the same colors over and over (however dyes that let us put effects on our characters are MORE than welcome… iridescent die, or see-through dye, or a dye that mimics the blade effects of dawn, twilight, or eternity but on your armor for instance… if you came out with that I would MAKE you TAKE MY MONEY!!!)
-Seasonal Costumes. These have been released for years now… there are only so many seasons…. we get it… halloween is scary and winter is cold.

Flaming Staff Skin

The game has flamey skins for all sorts of weapons, but nothing really good for staff.

As a concept, imagine Nevermore, but boiling like lava, with plumes firing off randomly (instead of ravens). And (again, instead of ravens), when you cast, it would shoot out phoenixes towards the target and they would burst into flame (and ‘die’).

Celestial Skins
Guild Wars 1 had some great skins, including the celestial set of skins. I’d love to see those in GW2

Yeah honestly, I’m a little bothered by gw1 content in the gemstore. I’m probably alone, but I worked mad hard to unlock the elite armor skins, weapons, etc. back in that game. Seeing the storm bow and my elite woven monk armor up for grabs for anyone willing to spend $10 cash was a little disheartening. I do love the nostalgia, but I’d like it more if was an in-game reward for earning something comparable in gw2.

Or even if those awesome gw1 skins were released in the Hall of Monuments rewards to gw1 players who purchased gw2. But I’m getting off topic.

I’m getting back into the game and I noticed the Zodiac Armor Set isn’t in the gem store for now. Any hints on when the celestial beauty will be available again? I know it was in there for a long time but I never bought it, now that I really want it I can’t get it lmao.

I suggest Cargo Infusions: infusions that give extra inventory space. Because they don’t confer stats, they won’t be PtW if sold on the gemstore.

As I like playing reaper the most out of all my characters I sometimes like using minions but they are so ugly. They are disgusting to look at. This isn’t just my sentiment, this is expressed by almost every necro I’ve talked to that uses minions.
So if there could be skins for the minions so they don’t look so disgusting like little devils or something. It won’t change anything within the game or give an advantage cuz minions are minions.
And if you do decide to implement a different look to minions please don’t put the skins on the gem store.

While the minions appropriately radiate an aura of creepy undead-ness, I would also enjoy the option to change their appearance. I really liked the minions in GW1, but I found the ones in GW2 to be less appealing for my tastes (and that is part of the reason why I rarely use them on my necros).

The seriously pathetic offering of facial hair for male humans and their neglect in the TMK updates is something that has been bothering me since the game’s launch. You’ve got one well-grown full beard, the horseshoe, and then just a whole bunch of pansy pencil-thin decorations – none of which suit what I’d like for my characters. I took the time to draw some period-appropriate ones I think would flesh out your selection very well, and I really, really hope you can get one of your gemstore artist to implement some more facial hair into the TMK soon! Surely it would make a perfect Movember addition.

I would gladly pay 20 bucks for a set of Undead Quaggan minions.

My necro does not use minions simply because the current ones do not impress me. What happened to the GW1 minions!? Why take away our skeletons? Bring them back and my necro will happily run around with a hoard of minions!

You can keep the zombies tho, they have been over done well and truly now.

They could make some minions look like the Phyrexians in Magic: the Gathering. Originally, the Phyrexians were ugly, zombie-like creatures, but later art made them look majestic and powerful.

I appreciate your point, but I think it’s unlikely to happen. They’d need to reskin, what six or seven minions for a relatively small group of the community.

Doesn’t seem like a worthwhile investment of time and effort from a business perspective.

Yeah, I rarely use my necro now precisely because of this. Not only are the minions ugly but they are the same ones every other necro uses. If I wind up foregoing a basic mechanic the class becomes a ‘what is the point’. It would be like running a ranger as-is without a pet and LB.

I’m all for this….I get to summon a black blob? yay…how’s that for creativity. Necro’s should summon undead – zombies and skeletal knights, etc, not black blobs and skeletal scorpions.

I’m just imagining little celeb minions or characters from the game, or undead kittens and it’s just never ending wtf. Personally I like the steampunk look of the turrets and such.

I just noticed that the wings on the fire elemental from glyph of elementals looks much nicer than the fiery wings that are in the store.

So the story is that my character (male norn warrior) was bald from the beginning. I realized that i need some hair if I want to look him cool with sunglasses, so I decided to buy a Self-Style Hair Kit and give him a frisure. I realized that there are different dyes, so called “Premium Dyes” and that there was a Celestial Hair Dye. Long story short, my norn now has glowing hair but a matte mustache. Please make glowing beards a thing because right now i feel a bit weird, having glowing white hair and a matte mustache.

Can’t the hair style kit also be used on facial hair? I’m pretty sure you just wasted a kit my friend.

Sorta like how Vindictius did it. You could sell it in the store. Cosmetic, fairly customized tattoos you could place on your character’s arms, chest, face, whatever; stuff that goes under armor and would show on the skin of certain sets. Or even bringing back full body tattoos like the monk/necro armors.

And on an unrelated note: A charr trying to get a tattoo is a great mental image.

Perhaps they could be treated as a form of ‘invisible armor’ skin for the head, chest, shoulders, and gauntlet slots instead of the OP’s suggestion of them being applied under armor… In this way there’d be dye channels to customize the coloring of the tatoos (or warpaint for the Charr, as Razor above suggested). The existence of the chaos gloves seem to indicate that the tatoos/warpaint might be possible as an armor skin.

I was just looking through the store and noticed the Monk outfit is still for sale. I’m willing to accept that I’ll never get the Ritualist of old in GW2, but I can live with it if I had some old school Kurzick/Luxon Ritualist outfit to go on my Herald. She’s already got the blindfold, she’s channelling spirits, give me a Ritualist skin to cover up that clunky heavy armor she’s got to wear and that will be enough Ritualist for me. I’ll love you forever.

Sure, yeah. The idea I had for tattoo was just something that would show on your character while wearing the armors that ‘show off skin’. Being able to dye them, move them around, make them bigger or smaller, etc would be amazing. Otherwise set placements for them if that’s more realistic.

Is all I care for, and even then I ONLY want that top thingie, released as a single stand alone skin that looks the same on all weights. Idk why anet does this for gloves shoulders helmets and sometimes boots but NNOOOOO doing it for chest and pants is a federal kittening crime?

Any chance of getting a wolf mini? I know there is Garm, but I’m thinking more like a generic wolf, grey and white ones like you’ve got the ranger pets, a bit like the bear minis.

Also – not just for gem store item suggestions, but would it be possible to make more plumed helmets with long hairs for the plumes.. not the Vigil helmet type, but think more along the lines of the following:

Since I played the Order of Whispers storyline for the first time this week, I just discovered this fancy Red Pirate outfit (see attachment).

I think it suits my character very well. I would love to have this as an Outfit for purchase in the Gem Store!

Any chance to make a pirate hook skin with a hook on each hand? I have a character that would fit in perfectly with being a double hand amputee.
