Dont position neutral “greeter” NPCs next to functional ones. Bank in LA and Moto in Rata Sum being the most notable ones. People usually crowd in such areas to the point where you can neither see, nor click them.

1-Click selling, even if you do sell by accident you can just buyback (keep the doubleclick for buying though)
1-Click adding items to Mystic Forge

Categorize minor runes and sigils as Trash. To keep it newbie-friendly categorize them as trash one you hit a level where you can use major ones. Optionally same for major ones, although some people use them for MF gambling, so maybe a toggle instead

Display a “Tornament XY has opened for enrollment” message similar to the Leyline Anomaly. Publish some kind of Google/Outlook-calendar we can import or subscribe to for the daily tournaments (times up to the next monthly should be enough)

Remove confirmation on salvaging LS3 map currency or make them all usable like pearls, orchids and berries

Can you guys fix the 6 hit auto attack chain with Warrior and make it 3 hits? And also fix “MOVING” animations with asura, They look really clunky and bad and it’s been like this since the release of Guild wars 2.

I would like for the banner message to show the name of the guild, not just “courtesy of our guild”. I think it would allow greater recognition to guilds who place banners. Right now, all you can do is look at the teeny-tiny guild nicname eg. SUN, and you don’t get to see the full name of the guild, eg. Lords of the Sun

I mean at this point they serve no purpose in being there and I Feel like its just a giant reminder, that hey your character choice could of been a cool addition to your kitten nal once.

Please fix the mini-map so it actually works in multi-leveled* zones (like Tangled Depths and Draconis Mons). If you’re going to have five levels, then the map should reflect that, and the mini-map should be able to tell them apart.

See https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Show-stopper-for-PoF-for-me/first#post6664750 for discussion.

*By multi-leveled, I mean more than one level exists in a map tier. Map tier means one of the buttons you can click in the main map.

(Copy/pasting from the thread I started cause I’m blind and didn’t see this)

I’ve got an awful taste in fashion but I, like everyone else, enjoy still looking good. I often build an outfit from the Wardrobe panel, dye it in the preview window, then have to send screenshots to friends to get opinions. That’s a huge hassle though, I get a lot of ‘Okay but can you send more angles?’ or ‘Is it clipping in this shot? Is that part of the animation?’ and all that jazz. Is it possible that we could eventually get a button to export our preview window as a chat code to just send through the in-game chat? Like, you press a button next to the ‘Clear Preview’ option and it pastes a chat code into your bar, you send it to a friend, and it opens up a preview of your character for them with all the gear/dyes set up. I figure that’d be a major hassle to set up and code but might as well share the thought.

Returning player here.

Every time I return to GW2 after a year or so of not playing, I almost immediately get turned away again by the way new content is being delivered to me. I’m talking about the Living World. Why must I be punished to pay 200gems for each part of the story I missed? If I don’t play often, I obviously don’t have enough gold to turn into gems and I’m definitely not excited to open my wallet as soon as I log in just to enjoy playing in a new map. I already pay for expansions like HoT and now planning on purchasing PoF as well. Selling expansions and cosmetics is one thing, but selling Living World story which should technically be a part of the base game is in my opinion unnecessary greed and is turning away both new and returning players.

I would strongly suggest you remove the punishment fee and make Living Story free to those who missed the update. It was free in the first place anyway. This is not a Free to Play game where you need to bring in revenue from every possible source. Please seriously consider doing this. Advertise this change and I’m sure many players will return, my friends among them.

Sorry to break it to you, but, yes, GW2 is free to play. Yeah, you have to buy Heart of Thorns if you want that expansion, but you don’t have to buy HoT if you just want to play the base game. As for Living World…all you had to do was log in ONE time while each episode was live to unlock it for free – even if you were using a free to play account. You had 2 months to login once. You didn’t, so you missed your opportunity. That was your choice.

Note: I came to the game around 19 months ago. I had to buy Season 2. I made sure that I logged in frequently enough to get all 6 Season 3 episodes for free.

With the LS3 episode 6 expansion the Living World Portal Tome was introduced. This was great for me because I was carrying the LS3 portals in my shared slots. All of a sudden I have some empty shared slots which I value a lot.

BUT – when opening the Portal Tome from my inventory the Portal Window opens BEHIND the inventory window.

Surely that can’t be intended. It certainly is inconvenient.

It would be much nicer if the Portal Tome Window opened on top.

I’m not here to start a debate and I’m not asking for commentary either.

I posted a suggestion with good reasoning behind it. ArenaNet does not need you to defend them. I’ve played GW2 since launch on & off. I’m a GW1 veteran and a long-time fan of MMO’s.

I don’t see a reason why this QoL shouldn’t be implemented other than sheer greed and to punish new and returning players. I’m glad to hear that you are always able to log in on time and unlock your Living World chapters for free, but I’m saddened by the fact that you are unable to get past yourself and see that the content that was initially free, suddenly costing money hurts the community as well as the company. All these people that are turned away could be potential buyers of expansions and cosmetic/utility items from the shop.

I have a friend who often digs too deep into his wallet and buys everything for multiple accounts sometimes, who said to me that he will likely not buy the new expansion because he is “sick of paying for updates” as no other MMO does that. To avoid confusion, when he said updates, he was referring to Living World story as he does not feel okay paying for that on top of the expansion.

If this QoL change would negatively affect your gaming experience, feel free to post your reasoning. If it doesn’t affect it(which I strongly believe so) and you still want to debate, please make a new thread and PM me the link. I want to refrain from having any further conversation in this thread.

Accountwide gold find bonus is useless.
Enemies rarely drop raw gold and even if they do its a handful of copper, 1-3 silver if you are lucky
replace gold find by map bonus – events are the bread and butter of GW2 after all
make map bonus affect renown hearts completion – (by that i mean make them fill up faster, not grant map bonuses) even though by the numbers they make up about 15% of the world completion, they take as long as the whole rest. And some take ridiculously long, like the first one in Draconis Mons, where doing the entire escort event chain gives you just enough to fill it up. The mere thought of redoing all the hearts makes map completion on more than one character horribly unattractive

I’d love some more rewards track micromanagement. Namely :

  • A queue system that’d allow you to select what will be the next reward track after you’re done with the current one ;
  • A “repeat indefinitely” option ;
  • A “default set” on a given track.

You realise the gold find bonus isn’t just to gold don’t you? It is to any money they drop and can make quite a difference to how much you get..

Also, the first heart in draconis mons, just kill everything and check the suspicious bushes etc, takes about 2 mins to complete the heart.

WVW needs tags (like commander tag but in different shapes) for smaller groups (ex. Scout tag (1 person), party tag (1-5 people), small group tag (6-15),…)
This way people dont mistake a scout for a commander and a commander for a scout. This is important so people understand how many people are where and where they should run to if they want to help.

-Make it possible to use those tag while in a squad (it’s anoying that only the commander can use a tag currently)
-Make it also possible to untag (every tag) without having to leave the squad. (also verry annoying currently)
-Add some sort of glow option that can be toggled to indicate a tag is in combat or has seen something important, something to draw attention with the increased amount of tags

I’d like a bookcase for the home instance. We collect so many books with all the lore throughout the living world, achievements etc., but most people end up trashing them and never seeing them again simply because they have no practical application and take up too much precious space.

It might also be a good idea to have a place where unique items from quests would be displayed so you could show off all your trophies.

I’d like to add a suggestion: Since the new Gen 2 Legendaries have been released, we have a new Runestone that we need to buy…Mystic Runestone. I’ve been a dummy and bought the Icy Runestones for The Shining Blade(which I learned of the new Runestone then).

What I suggest is making the Sell-back value of Runestones 1g so we don’t have to bother CS with this issue, seeing as we purchase it from a vendor anyways for 1g.

Emergency Priority:

  • Color Blind Mode!

General:

  • Build templates – let us save armor/weapon/trait builds and restore them with a single click. Current setup discourages experimentation.
  • Clothing templates – let us save skin and dye setups and restore them at will (just charge the transmutation charges as a group), or for dyes apply at will to any armor or outfit we want.
  • Have sigils and insignias be freely swappable. Current setup GREATLY discourages experimentation (possible 50+ gold costs to try something new).
  • Let us consume multiple food/utility items at once and stack the duration, instead of having to constantly mouse over and check our skill bar (very useful for raids).
  • Give us a library in our home instance to store book items so they aren’t clogging inventory. Otherwise we just delete them and read the wiki if we want to go back.

Crafting/TP/Mystic Forge:

  • Let us queue up items to buy and sell on the TP and buy or sell them all at once.
  • Let us queue up repeated mystic forge transmutations instead of having to re-add the items over and over.
  • Let us access the bank from the mystic forge panel.
  • Remember forged items (MF recipes) so we don’t constantly have to jump in and out of the game to look things up on the wiki. The discovery aspect is only fun the first time. Also let us just find recipes for high-level stuff like legendaries that we just look up on the wiki.
  • Let us auto-craft sub-items in a recipe instead of having to dig down and do every item one by one. This also avoids overcrafting since you can’t accidentally craft 3 of something when the final item needs only 2, etc.
  • Remember selected sorting/categories in the crafting panel (so we don’t have to turn off crafting levels every time we log in).
  • Expand the left panel of crafting and mystic forge. We need more space for active items, rather than a giant, mostly empty art panel that has no function.

Inventory:

  • Put a button for deposit all right on the interface, instead of in a sub menu.
  • Have an option to put such a button for sort as well.
  • Have an option to outline or otherwise mark non-sorting and invisible slots when bag view is off.
  • Auto-stack shared inventory slots.
  • Have an option to use unlimited harvesting tools account wide or on multiple designated characters. This will be much more convenient than constantly unequipping and reequipping via shared slots.
  • Key/map item wallet.
  • Options for displaying multiple currencies (and key levels, if in wallet) at the bottom of the inventor, ie show Gold, Karma, Gears, and Crowbars when in Verdant Brink, as these are the relevant things to know in VB. Also an option to display on the UI somewhere so they can be seen without opening inventory.

Fractals:

  • Add ascended items with HoT and PoF stats to the drop pool. Right now most non-armor/weapon ascended drops are so low value due to useless stat combos that they aren’t even salvaged (not worth the very expensive ascended tools), they are just deleted. Alternately, make drops stat-selectable as armor and weapons are.
  • Allow consume all on encrypted fractal boxes (decrypt as many as you have keys).
  • Move selector console next to the portal.
  • Show fractal levels available on daily pane for daily fractals, instead of making us go into the achieve panel to figure out the numbers.
  • Show fractal identity on recommended fractals.
  • Remove titles for completing fractal challenge motes. These lead to discrimination in LFG.

But because of titles no one can get into challenge motes. I tried both to join groups and to gather a group. Experienced groups won’t let new players join. Trying to make your own group fails because no one wants to join a group without experienced people. This chicken and the egg results in no one who hasn’t done it already being able to do it.

And to give an idea of how fast this happens, this was already occurring within 1 DAY of the release of the new fractal, so literally only the people who did it in the first 12 or so hours of the fractal being available are being allowed to participate.

You shouldn’t need legendary gear to be allowed to actually experiment with the build system. A small percentage of the community has legendaries. Should the vast majority of the community be restricted to using metabattle to set a build and forget it just so the few with legendaries can have this feature to themselves?

Also you can’t change sigils on weapons even if they are legendary.

Mystic Gear Bag

  • A special bag that sits in a single inventory slot inside another bag (like the newly added Living World Portal Tome)
  • Holds 19 items: 6 armor pieces, up to 4 weapons, 5 trinkets, 1 back item, up to 2 aquatic weapons, 1 breather
  • Will not hold any other items of any other type
  • When double-clicked, asks “Do you want to swap your current gear with the gear in this bag?”

Suggestions for obtaining one:

  • With a currency like Unbound Magic + Gold
  • Mystic Forge: 1 20-Slot bag of any type, 5 ea of 3 special currencies from LS3 maps (e.g. Jade Fragments)
  • As a reward for completing a story step
  • Jewel Store

Why? Because it is a drag that I have to use 19 bag slots on a second set of gear if I want to keep one. Major QoL upgrade!

A place to store the various books of lore, letters, and such (e.g. E’s Correspondence, Collapse of the White Mantle, etc.) that are found all around the world.

I like getting these and reading them, but if I want to keep them, they just end up taking up space in my inventory. It would be great if there were a way to keep them and read them whenever I want, without having to use up inventory to use them.

I have quite a minor quality of life change which is overall less important but may be awesome for players who use this feature: the Action Camera! While the Action Camera is not only changing the way of camera movement mechanics, it also allows you to use your primary weapon skill with a left click on your mouse. A click will cause your character to perform one auto attack, holding down left mouse keeps him attacking until you stop holding down or use another ability.

Now the problem: using your primary weapon ability like this doesn’t trigger the automatic attacking feature, as if you would just use ability one, and there is no option to change that. That means you’ll either be clicking as if you were playing a hack and slay game, or hold down left mouse everytime you need your auto attack chain — though you have to re-click everytime you are using an ability.

It would be awesome if you could add an option for also triggering auto attacking while using the action cam with left clicks for your primary weapon attacks.

Please add legendary foot trails to mounts. A lot of us work really hard for our legendary weapons and one of the perks of that is when walking we have pretty foot trails. With the introduction of mounts most of our travel time in the new zones will be on mounts and not on foot, so if we don’t have our foot trails added then it could make players not want to use mounts as much. From what can be seen in the beta raptors have regular foot trails like players do without legendary weapons. So would it really be that hard to tweak a little change?

Nah. Make Legendary mounts with their own footfalls! That’ll give people something to work toward.

Many alts; handle it!

Add a Bookshelf to the Home Instance:

A place to store the various books of lore, letters, and such (e.g. E’s Correspondence, Collapse of the White Mantle, etc.) that are found all around the world.

I like getting these and reading them, but if I want to keep them, they just end up taking up space in my inventory. It would be great if there were a way to keep them and read them whenever I want, without having to use up inventory to use them.

I was coming here to suggest this exact thing too. Could be a gem store item to purchase maybe. I love all the tomes we’re compiling, but please give us somewhere dedicated to put them!

Please add a way to demote Empyreal Stars and Dragonite Ingots to their components, in the same way you currently can with Bloodstone Bricks.

Only 2 relatively simple suggestions :-

1. add a skip button to Dragon stand cutscence’s after seeing them 20 times its getting irritating to have to sit through them all the time

2. either make item icon size in bags and bank either adjustable or smaller

Could you make it so that we can deactivate a crafting discipline on its own? For roleplay?/customization purposes, I only want my engineer to have the jewelry craft, but I already added on the artificer craft.
If implemented, re-activation of the disciplines shouldn’t cost anything as long as you have the crafting slots for them.
