That might be a bit harder to sort, but it’d also be useful. Best indicators we have now are the crafting icons below each character.

I could see having a colored icon or a colored circle behind it, based on what the crafting level is.
Blue for Fine tier, 1-75
Green for Masterwork tier, so around 125
Yellow for when Rares open up
Orange for Exotic crafting
Pink for Grandmaster/Ascended at 500.

While I have a ton of characters, I know who my four crafters are, so it’s not a huge deal for me, but it’d be a relatively small and visually easy way to help players with lots of craft-leveled characters know which ones are worth using for crafting needs.

Many alts; handle it!

1. Please, display icons for banners and food on the mini map, just as you do for toys.

2. In action cam, skills that require a target should not require the player to be looking directly at the target if there’s a target lock. Otherwise, what’s the point of the target lock? And even sillier, there are some skills that require you to have both a target lock AND be looking at the target. Can this be consistent? Most skills work on the target lock. That should be the standard. If there’s no target lock, then accept that target the player is looking at.

3. Fix summoned minions so they actually fight bosses. There’s some inconsistency here. My fire elemental (from the powder) fought the jades, but the griffon summoned with the ogre whistle didn’t. They also don’t like fighting some world bosses. Not sure what the pattern is.

4. Increase the vertical angle we can look down; especially in BF with the #1 aerial skill, it’s difficult to hit an enemy below you. We need to be able to look down more.

Made a thread about it ages ago, in case anyone lazy to open the link I’ll quote it:

- Problem: I got an entire tab and half tab full of reward boxes. As someone who plays pvp much I get tons of boxes all the time and my bank almost full now. It’s annoying I’m done using them so I save them for my other toons who are not yet lvl 80.

- Solution: Making them stack is a simple solution that would save many pvpers’ banks.

1. Build Saving/Gear Saving ( like we had in PvP for GW1 ) this would allow us to change builds/armor for different battles without having to stop change armor and traits, 2 clicks and done ( Out of Combat of course )

2. Tooltips/skill descriptions, I know many use there keyboards for skills, but some people due to limitations cannot do this, and use a mouse, seeing the skill description pop up all the time is annoying, and ruins the visuals of game play, we could hide this in GW1 why not here.

3. Open all, ( champ bags, boxes etc, we are seeing more and more of these containers, open all would be great )

4. Mystic forge, anyone tried to upscale Core to Lodestones, enough said, make it if we have the ability to craft 100 in 1 go we can, providing we have the materials to do so.

Add a option to make multiple of the same item. eg superior sieges
once place all items into the forge, a option pop up to indicate how many you want to make (of course, a click button to max the number is ideal)

Chat Box Text Colors:

Ideally each player would be able to color-pick each channel’s color to fit their personal tastes.

But I’d settle for being able to pick a new color for emotes or for ANet providing a brighter color. (Yes, I have mentioned this in other threads, from original beta until this past week — but I don’t think I put it in this specific QoL feedback thread yet). It’s an active effort to read the emotes and NPC lines; the dull grey not only is hard to discern, but is a color commonly used for “disregard this as inactive.”

Commanders:
- Let us change the color of the commander tag when in a squad like we could do before the big revamp.
- Give commanders a stand down button when in a squad without having to leave. That way if someone else wants to lead they could or so we can run around in a squad without a tag up.

Rush/Race Guild Mission:
- Give us our personal rewards once we get through all the checkpoints like how it was before all the changes to missions.

Trek Guild Mission:
- Show how many locations have been found so far and how much time is left in the top right of the screen during trek like how it is when doing a rush/race.

Guild Mail:
- Give guilds a rank that lets us send mail to people in the guild all at once. For instance, if we decide to change raid night to a new time I could select the people that go and send the message to all our raid team at once. That way they can see the message when they get on and we don’t have to deal with the suppressed message delay after every 2 people.

Friends List:

Mark one just added. Color it differently, put a star by it, anything.

Often the best way to find out if a name is available before spending a lot of time making a character is to friend that name — but since we get the account name in our list, there’s no way of knowing which one is the player of the taken name and thus no good way to drop them off the list again once the name-check is complete.

Maybe have a tab for last five added?

My suggestion is two fold:

Create “alpine” and “desert” landscapes for servers designating the respective borderland they’re assigned that week.

Place mini commander tags, with color, on the servers. Possibly have the ability to scroll over the tag and see who it is that’s commanding.

That’s a pretty nifty idea. But since there could be as many tags in the map as there are players, how about instead of filling the bar with tags, there is just one, a white one in the black square as you have it, with a number in the tag of how many commanders are tagged?

Or a popup on mouseover of the white tag with the number, since again there could be one tag per player (and you know that if everyone tagging up would break something, there’d be organized attempts to do that just for giggles) and the number could get too large for the available field.

That thing that makes you add friends to your friends list before you can invite them to your party should be fixed. not sure what causes it. on that note, a “join party option”. If you are solo and want to join a friend’s party of 3-4, they need to invite you, which is cumbersome. A “merge parties” option would also be nice outside of the lfg

Thanks for the feedback. You’re right. If there’s a way to exploit/abuse, people will find it. Another possible workaround: Only display the 3-4 most populated commander tags. Maybe even a threshold of 2-5 people minimum in squad to get displayed. I’d love to be able to see who’s commanding without having to a. friend them or b. go server to server to server.

Put all those flipping keys, crowbars , acids, machetes into the bank with all the other stuff like crests , geodes etc etc or give them their own storage tab in with the materials . Same with bloodstone dust, dragonite ore, empyreal , reduce the bloody drop rate on that crap too

Mass manufacture option for advanced siege in the mystic dustbin

Mass place all items of a certain level / type / colour in the mystic dustbin option

Stack all boxes / chests / satchels from rewards tracks in inventory instead of them cluttering everything up and make them automatically go into your inventory instead of having to manually collect them.

Stack all similar armour items in inventory for the same reason .

Remove the autodraw on weapons or allow us to disable it , i want to decide for myself if i chose to slow down while running by taking weapons out because i or one of my minions if i`m on my Nec gets tagged by a player/mob, or because i`ve used a completely non weapon based skill.

Reduce the cost of gems , and how about opening up the previous content from scarlet instead of demanding we pay for it , don`t you think you`ve ripped us off enough since GW1 ?

1. Being able to mail to multiple people at once. I understand this might have not been implemented because of some fear of spamming but it also makes it difficult to contact multiple friends to organise something. Maybe it could be allowed for guildmates only, as a compromise.

2. Allow me to set a list of my favorite waypoints and click in that list to get there quicker. It would help immensely with some daily tasks where I pop over to the same places each day. All the zooming in and out and panning in the map isn’t hard but it consumes time that’s already limited and doesn’t really add to the enjoyment of the game.

3. Allow batching/queuing of items in the crafting stations. I often have large numbers of various things that need refining and I have to wait for each to finish before starting another. It’s not possible to do much else while this goes on and while it’s fun to discover new recipes and craft various bits and pieces to produce something exciting, the repeating refinement of base materials is one of the tedious aspects of crafting.

4. Allow us to put notes on our maps.

Keyring/chain (same as wallet UI, but separate?):
Currently using the shared inventory slots, and I dislike it.
#The keys do not automatically go into the shared inventory slots. Manually putting in 3 keys is ridiculous.
#The shared inventory slots have much better potential, like housing legendary weapons, more salvage kits, etc.

Bookcase/bookbag (bag would be with the wallet, for example)
#Only for completed books
#This is going to be a big problem if more books are added, and I hope they are!

Friends Panel – Groups
#I would love it if I could organize friends into, say, people I’ve met pvp-ing, so I don’t go around asking the people I’ve made friends with in PvE to PvP.

Build Swapping—Traits
#Having a drop down-menu would be ideal. Also codes so the builds become shareable.

Build Swapping—Gear
#The only way I see this working is having an “alternate” gear tab in the hero panel. The gear would be permanently stored there, and would have to be manually moved to change it.

Salvaging
#Salvage all light/medium/heavy armour.

Hero Panel—BL items
#This is just me, but as a completionist, if I had a tab for all of the gliders, for example, shown to me, I may throw more money at you.

Potions (and food, and utilities, etc)
#Maybe this is because dungeons pseudo-died, but the potions that went with them (powerful potion of svanir slaying, for example) seem to be extremely low use. Maybe this is because it’s more inventory bloat? Having a separate place for all of these may make a wider use for them and also increase the purchases.
#Being able to use the exact right utility/food for the exact right situation and changing it on the fly would be cool.

There’s already an icon in your boons bar that indicates this, so I’m guessing you mean something more, and I would agree. The glider icon is small and easily overlooked. It would be good to have some indication on the toon, like you get with some conditions, but I’m not sure what would work. Maybe some kind of faint ball & chain symbol above your toon’s head?

  • Opening bank, either via the normal bank NPC or via permanent bank contract positions the bank window to the default position which is the middle of the screen instead of remembering where it was on the screen previously. Im tired of moving it to the right side (left side is my inventory) of the screen. Make it remember for its position!!!
  • Harvesting in general is frustrating. A normal ore can be harvested 3-6 times. If the node has 3 uses, then you have to press the interact button, then just wait, and thats all. But if the node has more uses, like 4, then you have to press interact again to harvest the 4th resource. Why not harvesting with 1 button till the node goes empty??? Additionally, even if the node goes empty after the 4th chop, the harvesting animation continues till all the 3 chop long animation ends. Sometimes its hard, or not even possible to interrupt it for some reason. Suggestion: Make the animation of the chops identical, so not 2 fast chops and a slow chop, but 3 identical chops. Harvesting should start with 1 button and should end when the node goes empty.
  • Allow change skills (6-10) without having to wait for cooldowns when we are out of combat. Its annoying to ask the team to wait 30 secs, just because I need a skill for the upcoming encounter, but the skill I used in that slot in the earlier encounter is still on CD. Example: Skill in slot7 still has 40 sec CD, but the game would allow it to change it to a different skill. The new skill wouldnt be usable immediately, it would be on the same CD as the skill previously in that slot, so on 40sec. This way you dont haeve to wait first 40sec, then change the skill, but you can immediately change it and go fight. The new skill would be become usable after that 40secs.
  • Its hard to track boon effect icons as they come and go quickly and we never know where to look on the screen exactly because all effect icons are aligning to the left, making all of them changing positions continuously. If there is a hard fight, I cant check quickly enough whether I have stability for example. Suggestion: Make the position of specific icons (like stability boon) customizable. I know its not gonna happen but it would be nice.

Make crafting account bound.

Yes, I know, this will create a big cry of outrage from players who have already grandmastered a specific crafting discipline on more than one character. (Although I cant understand why anyone would do that, as it’s faster and cheaper to just switch characters, but let’s assume such people exist) They will cry that they wasted time, gold, and possibly even real life money. But we should never halt progress, never stop improving the game for all players, just because it undervalues the (pointless) struggles of a few. And to counter their arguement, this change may have lost them the gold they wasted to make a second or third master scribe, but it will have gained them an aditional master scribe for every character on their account for free. So the gains outweigh the loss.

As for the old arguement that crafting should remain character bound because it grants experience and thus helps with leveling, that has been a mute point for a long time, as experience from crafting is all but non-existant now. Really, there is no reason to have it character bound.

As for the benifets of having it account bound, that goes without saying, quality of life, ease of play, not having to switch characters to craft.

I’m too lazy to read 7 pages, sorry if these were mentioned before:

1. PASSIVE REVIEW: Remove “Sigent passives” because they take up utility slots and get a new, separate “passive system” (more extra stats, including unlockable 25% movement speed). This should be something like Planar Attunment in RIFT (account-bound and can be leveled by earning exp anywhere in the game).

2. COOLDOWN REVIEW: Cooldowns on some skills are ridiculously high. No weapon cooldown should be more than 20 sec. Halve most utility and profession-specific cooldowns (especailly the ones over 20 sec). After that, remove the -20% cooldown traits and add more useful / fun traits.

3. REMOVE FEROCITY AND MAKE CRIT DMG 200%: Just like in most other MMOs, crits should be double damage, hands down. Removing Ferocity opens up more room for defensive stats (the end of the Berserker meta). Adjust condition damage accordingly.

-Mystic forge recipe for mystic coins: it’d be nice to have another way to get mystic coins then just from log-in rewards since we need so many for legendaries.
-Let us look at vistas even if in combat: sometimes we get the in combat bug that even if we’re not it acts like we are. So, we end up having to kill something so we can get out of combat just to look at the vista.
-Add Dungeon Pop-up Signs: It’d be helpful if when you hover over a dungeon’s symbol on the map it would say the name of the dungeon, what level it is, say story mode or story and explorable mode if that character has done story mode on it. That would save people time when trying to find a character that needs to do story mode for a dungeon. It’d be like when we hover over a name of a map like Queensdale and it tells us what we need to find for map completion, but for dungeons.
1.Add A Fractal of the Mists Pop-up Sign: When you hover over the fractal of the mists symbol on the map it’d said the name of the dungeon, personal reward level, and how much agony resistance you have.

Why do we need a confirm on this? Someone might not be sure whether they want to use this extremely common consumable item that you get for nearly everything you do, on top of the gobs and gobs of ways to pour XP and levels into a character, and which serves only one function (consume for (also useless) spirit shards) once you hit 80?

As a new player (playing for 75 days), I found some issues I thought should be addressed.
Please feel free to chime in if any of these ideas are good/bad.

I mentioned most of these to some of my guild members and a lot seems to be on the player wishlist for quite some time.

Instead of whining about it in the Guild Chat, I thought I would post them online and hopefully some will make it into a future update. My personal preference is to have a lot of options, with the current way being the default so that nothing changes for anyone.

Guild (not a guild leader so some might already exist):

  • rotate / scale, nudge decorations
  • decoration prefab (join multiple into a blueprint/stamp, for copy pasting)
  • joined / member since date
  • last rank change date
  • crafting stations, waypoint to gather nodes / crafting area

Skins:

  • weapon / shield / backpiece dye channels
  • standardize the base colors of armor skins
  • option to mirror left or right armor pieces
  • less skirts for male armor (even the option to remove the skirt portion would be nice in some cases)
  • more symmetrical chest armor pieces
  • display amulet, rings, trinkets (perhaps set a list of mount points to choose from)
  • ability to adjust offset / scaling for armor pieces
  • guild cape (like in GW1) probably as a backpiece skin because those would conflict a lot
  • miniature dye channel

Examples of skin issues:

  • mixing and matching pieces sometimes requires different dyes in order to match visually
  • Protean Epaulets floating (fixable with an offset change)
  • Bladed armor pokes into tall male asura’s face (fixable with mirror option)
  • Rogue Pauldrons, slight clipping on asuran male back (fixable with offset or scale)
  • Radiant Vambraces has no dye channels :-(

UI:

  • Option to remove or dim the transparency of the windows
(just open the inventory partially over the crafting window and try to find out which is in which)
  • Option to move the toolbar so that the chat window can be made wider
  • Mouse cursor visibility during raids/squads/world-event is horrendous, please add a customization option
(custom mouse.cur, gif, jpg or png in GW2 root)
  • multi monitor support or an API that supports mobile devices on a local network
(so that we can move stuff like map and inventory to a second display or mobile/tablet)
even just reading inventory, bank, mat storage and map position and direction in real time would be nice (currently using gw2efficiency)
  • Skills / Traits, build saving
  • Open all to random bags + autostore mats option

Inventory:

  • Useless Hall of Monuments stone, per character, a legacy thing as I understand it…
  • Compact button and key bind
  • Deposit button and key bind
  • Sorting options or a way to specify single slot filters (like the toolbelt in factorio)
  • A Sort button and keymap
  • Seperate scale from the rest of the UI (or move to different display)
  • Transparency issue on right side of the window (see UI)
  • A Keychain (like the coin purse)
    Or
  • A few inventory slots for specific item categories like renown items, keys, non-junk trophies (like blood rubies)

Misc:
Mark all account bound Item Collection pieces as junk (so that they sell properly to the vendor), or at least make the flavor text display ‘this item only has value as part of a collection’ consistently across all such items.
Remove mentions of the stats like precision, ferocity, concentration and expertise from the UI, just display the % they grant instead. Make the math consistently linear, who cares about sub-level 80 math anyways.

Chat:

  • When blocking a person, their chat messages should be removed from the chat window as well.

Especially with gold-sellers, they are just the most annoying thing ever. You might be able to shut them down by sending cease and desist letters to all their affiliated website hosting/payment providers. They are taking actions against the EULA and most likely are also involved in account hacking, making it illegal if proven.
Also detecting their type of behavior should not be very difficult, mark them as miserable users (giving no indication that they have been silenced).
A silenced user would only be able to send successful whispers to their own IP-range, severely limiting the amount of players they can annoy, while not being able to easily detect the silenced state.
Whispers would simply not show up for the recipient, allowing them to spam and us to ignore without either being notified of it.

Crafting:
- daily limited as search option
- better sorting / overview

When I want to refine items, there is no easy way to besides collapse the mostly junk recipe categories and scroll down to refinement.
Alternatively, using Have materials, does not show items you could craft without having the directly needed materials.

using the word Ascended, helps a bit.

I would like to see aslight alternative instead of the alphabetical group sorting:

  • Ectoplasm Refinement
  • Obsidian Refinement
  • Wood, Leather and Ore refinement (split into seperate groups?)
  • Insignia
  • Upgrade Component
  • Bag
  • Dowel crafting
  • item crafting groups at the bottom

Please make the level 78 craft able backpacks a bit more useful by adding a level 80 exotic and ascended recipes. Also please remove the double recipe, it’s useless now since the Infusion change (though the resulting item still has a seperate item/ID).

I also get you want to push HoT content, but please add the HoT stats as options to more of the stat-switchable items. Just require HoT to actually select / switch to them.

Also transmutation charges are quite pointless (most players have more then they know what to do with).
As a new player the system just seems annoying, to the point where they negatively influence the changing of skins on lower level gear (lowering my interest in finishing other characters). I am not planning on ever buying transmutation charges, I would think this is the least favorite item in the entire store.

There are a lot of things in this game that makes you want to buy them.
With the initial purchase of HoT (free to play was very appreciated), I quickly followed by LS2 (kind of needed to get the mastery points anytime soon), gathering tools (instead of using high level tools on low level nodes or ruined X when you forget to switch), Inventory Bag slot, Bank slots, Character slot.
As a new player I was not expecting to spend this much this soon, you might want to work out a fair deal for new players.
Like a HoT, LS 2/3 bundle, with a single set of infinite gathering tools of choice, instead of the current deluxe/collectors offering of which only the character slot had immediate apparent value to me.
Having a lot of quick succession sales is very nice.

I am also looking forward to the next celebratory event, I’m sure there will be lots of stuff to do and collect.
Really enjoying the game thus far, being in a nice guild helps a lot as well.

-When in the Guild Arena can we have our pvp builds: it would be cool if when we enter our guild arena we could test out our pvp builds on each other. Instead of having to find a dead map in pvp to do it. That would make our arena so much more useful.
-Add Activities Tab to Guild Portals: It would be cool to have portals to the different types of mini games like crab toss or keg brawl.
-Add Dungeons Tab to Guild Portals: It would be fun to be able to take a portal from our guild hall to any dungeon.
-Daily Chest: I made this crazy jumping puzzle in our guild hall so, it would be awesome if I could in some way earn a daily chest that I could put at the end of my jumping puzzle. That way when a guildie dares to climb up it there would be a little present at the end waiting for them.
-Add Living Story Season 1 to story journal: There was some fun stuff in season 1 that would be great to be able to reply again. Even if the events were reduced in scale to work better for instances because I know most of it was open world.
-Make Ranger Pets Account Bound

Some of the things I’d like to see added are:

Gather tools skins – Buy basic unbreakable tools and separate account wide tool skins from gem store. Allow fixed or random skins for each node gathering. Bonus features such as sprockets get unlocked account wide but only occur with that skin use. By doing bonus gathering items like sprockets with skins it would encourage random skin use. They could do other new bonus harvesting skins like a bunny that gives a chance of getting carrots, a pig harvest skin to that gives bonus truffles, etc. This would sell a lot more gathering tools. I think they could sell the basic set for 1500 gems and skins for 600 gems each and still sell a lot of them.

Salvaging – Make soulbound items, runes, etc where they can be salvaged.

Pact Airship memorial in LA – I suggested this before. There should be an airship memorial in LA that takes 250 airship oil a day. It could give 50 Thermocatalytic Reagents in return. This would help get rid of the glut of airship oil, other ascended crafting items in people’s inventories plus when the glut was gone people would hit the HoT maps big time so they could get the daily Thermocatalytic Reagents. It would be a big win for the game and fit in with the lore.

Radar Screen – Allow players to flag the system not to automatically change the resolution and also show hostiles as red and yellow dots. The last part could come with an account wide sixth sense mastery.

Weapon swap with all professions – I know the arguments for and against this but it would be nice if all characters could swap. I play my engineers a lot and wish I could swap between the rifle and pistol/hammer/shield when I’m not using kits.

Library – Put a library on the hero panel that holds all the unlocked reading material.

Collections display on home instance – Give players a purchased unlock to display collections such as spoons to visitors of their home instance.

Gliding disable hotkey – There are times when gliding gets in the way. It would be nice if there was a hotkey to disable it.

Map break out rewards – Instead of death on HoT maps they could enact no-fly zones on the map edges and induce fear. Many players see map breakouts as a challenge. Build a reward system for them and a mastery point. Players could use buffs to get past the fear zone. Map breakouts is really a non-rewarded puzzle.

Airship pass and other passes – Add Camp Resolve and Fort Trinity as destinations. I really wish all three of the passes was merged into a new map that the passes give access to. Maybe a stable region in the mists that give pass owners a instanced zone where they can do things like crafting, banking, meetups then return to the map they were on. As part of the lore there could be a stabilizing harmonizer for the zone that keeps it stabilized in the mists. It could also act as a place of power to do things like charge quartz. Allow players to purchase anything there that they have unlocked merchants for in Tyria’s various vendors.

I would love the option to queue reward tracks. It is painful to see the points overflow to a reward track you’re not even interested in when you complete one. There could be a ‘Queue’ button apart from (re-)activate which would let you choose a “secondary” reward track that would activate after completing you active one (which would have rhe option too of course). Then even if you had the second track just for overflow points, it would still be a useful one to you.

Consider suggestions below:
1) Make ability to choose standard models for wvw and other modes (unranked,hj). Or make option to enlarge all races to standard human height (if you expect money loss because of skins). Or any other option to make those azura animation discernible.
2) Make customizable mouse pointer: size, colour, stays visible on RMC,..
3) Make option to see allies (+pets, illusions, etc) healthbars without hovering mouse pointer over them.

Yep, I agree with all of these.

The first one doesn’t bother me too much, I’m not a serious enough WvW player for it to be a problem but I can imagine it would be very useful for people who are.

The other too I would definitely like to have.
