Lol a lottery would be cool. I wouldn’t sag that much though lmao. Millions of gold. But a buy in for a lottery once a month. The ticket would cost 50s or something like that.
It would be an interesting money sink if they ran a lottery like powerball. Set a price, make the jackpot payout dependent on the total tickets sold with lots of smaller prizes. Pay out about 70% of total sales.

In the GW2 community, there are not many trusted names out there other than Dulfy, WoodenPotatoes, Obal & MattVisual.
The latter 3 are strictly youtube, while the former would be a perfect candidate since she already has a fledged out website. The thing is, would Dulfy really be interested in dealing with weekly lottery? You have to manage all the mail and keep track of everything. It can be pretty tedious.

You’re probably right. 100 gems to buy in seems fair and more along the lines of what Anet would probably do if something like this ever happened. Although a gold buy in would be a good gold sink and a lot more players would participate including myself.

We already have plenty of lotteries. Black Lion Chests, Dye Packs, The Mystic Toilet.

50/50 is pretty harsh. Slots in NV aren’t allowed below 75%. Many jurisdictions don’t allow below 85%. Black Jack, Roulette, Craps and Baccarat all pay quite high. 70% will do well as a gold sink and not scare away too many players. 50/50 will just scare people away.

- ANet’s Lottery Department sends user 1,000 gold
- ANet’s Banning Department terminates player’s account for using gold seller
- Player opens appeal ticket
- Player waits 3 days
- Player posts on forum review request in tickets over three days thread
- Gaile waves her Frog Scepter and everything gets fixed
- Naaa… too much hassle
