Sorry for the down time. OP is still reading. OP is still here. FYI today I lead a pug teq and finally got it killed using the guardian exploit. Even that was a gigantic pain in the kitten . And people still left after the burn failed. Once the exploit is fixed i can guarantee everyone will start failing teq again. AC is still broken as kitten. My points are validated. Noisy elitists know I am right but refuse to agree. I cannot agree.

TL;DR OP wants 100% of the game accessible to EVERYONE. Elitists, flamers, “I want challenges”, “Things are too easy”, people do not. OP doesn’t reply because he has a life outside the forums

Can you explain how AC is supposedly broken because personally every pug I do AC with has no trouble. I’m not picky about AC pugs. I just go with whoever and it’s always easy.

How do I use this Guardian “exploit” people are talking about? I want to use it too before Anet nerf this “exploit”.

You basically take 10 or so guardians with GS or mace. Plonk down the symbol that gives fire damage and fury or whatver. Then use a combo on top of it. You can kill teq without him even landing if you do it right with enough guardians. All the threads saying “I killed teq in under 5 minutes” or “Teq is easy as every just use the old strategy” or “Learn2play noobs” used this exploit. It is untrue and toxic and it gives a false sense to hoards of average gamers out there that they aren’t good enough to do this content.

More like Op refers to himself in the 3rd person, can’t accept that people are not agreeing with his opinion and so rather than having a civil discussion is just declaring himself right. While taking poor time management and misconstruing it as “having a life” in an attempt to somehow make his opinion more valid.

The game is 100% accessible, you can attempt 100% of the content in the game at the moment, success however is not something that is guaranteed (nor should it be, otherwise you no longer have a game).

Dungeon groups want level 80 characters because they are far more likely to be good players.

In fact, if you have a good player on a level 35 with the best available gear in AC, they will do fine, maybe better than if they were on a level 80. However, players who know what they’re doing most likely aren’t bringing their characters to a dungeon before level 80.

Anyway, you haven’t explained how AC is too difficult. I assume you have at least one level 80 character with full exotic gear you can take into AC? How is AC too difficult for you?

Back to the point. First off, you are not the main demographic. Did you pay more for the game than everyone else?

All I am saying is that average gamers deserve to have just as much of a chance as clearing out these world bosses and dungeons EVEN with other gamers. They should not have to rely on people like you who knows everything inside out, run world bosses by getting a “private map” where its mostly your guild and getting it capped quickly so that the average gamer has little to no chance of even succeeding in one of these events. I am not saying everything should be faceroll blah blah kitten blah, rather it has to be doable, easy and fun. Right now for PUGS in the current state excluding exploits, its near impossible, borderline boring and when its a fail there isn’t the urge to challenge it again. This is because PUGS get totally destroyed, there wasnt even the glimmer of hope.

Let me bring into focus Tequatl. The mechanics are easy. What to do where to stand and everything is easy. Try organising 150 random people who may or may not be at Teq, may or may not be afk, may or may not understand english. Therein lies the rub. I have see dedicated commanders like RIver Songstress and Mai Lunsi (NA servers sorry EU) try and organize PUGS so that they have a chance of winning. Should they give up on these PUGS full of average gamers because they refuse to “learn2play” or are “noobs” or not in a specialised guild?

All in all everyone in the game has one thing in common, we paid for the content. No matter if the person are Hardcore, Average, Super Casual or “I don’t play the game I just want to talk to people”, they deserve a REAL shot at finishing and succeeding everything.

Well I tried for an hour on P1 in AC with 5 people not all level 80’s or full exotic I went to destroy the burrows with the typical strategy 2 left 2 right once defend. While destroying burrows the tiny gravling popped up and gave me all the bleeds. Some went to the npc and gave him bleeds. NPC died before I did. No idea how to protect the NPC while trying to dodge/cleanse all the little critters. Maybe I am missing something or maybe you just need level 80 full exos for paths now no matter what dungeon?

I agree in the sense that fractals have the right idea. You can do a level 1 or a level 50, choose the difficulty you want. Now, that’s impossible with Open World stuff (chalk up one more reason for instances). But, for dungeons I think that’d be the way to go, having hard modes or gambits whatever to make them fun and interesting for the more challenge driven players, but still playable as an interactive movie more or less for those that don’t want any resistance. Scale it to your play style.

But, ANet doesn’t like that idea, so they have people mad on either side, where many find the content too easy, and many find it too hard.

Listen mate – just like I wrote above. There are how many “ez pz” world bosses that literally cannot fail in this game?

Let’s list them:

Shadow Behemoth
Fire Elemental
Great Jungle Wurm
The Shatterer
Inquest Golem Mark II
Claw of Jormag
Legendary Karka Queen
Champion Svanir Shaman Chief
Champion Modniir Ulgoth

And there are more.
There are how many hard world bosses?

Teq; Evolved Jungle Wurm and Vinewrath.

See a pattern? There already is an abundance of casual-friendly easy content. For any of those many easy bosses the only requirement for success is to show up and hit it. That’s it – you came and you got a reward.

There are 3 ones where you have to organize, work and push towards a win. I get that you might not be into this and you might dislike it – but other people love it – and it isn’t really a problem.

As I said above – you want to make sure you kill teq 100% – show up an hour early when the really good dedicated overflows form – join those and win.

Also how is AC broken?

If here they fall they shall live on when ever you cry “For Ascalon!”

You mean you can’t AC with lower level chars because people won’t take you? How is that a surprise? Nobody wants you slowing them down – because they’re doing AC for the farm.

100% cannot be 100% accessible to everyone because people have to improve and work towards it. That way they have something to work towards. If on day 1 of the game you could easily do 100% of the content you’d just do it all once and stop.
The whole point is working towards harder and more difficult challenges and improving your capacity as a player.

TL;DR, fractals are perfect. Go and read the post

Then you yourself agree that the encounter isn’t the problem – the people – the 150 randoms are the problem. It’s not a gameplay/encounter issue – it’s a people one.
Those 150 players need to get better or you have to get in with other people that already are better.
It’s not about Teq being hard – it’s about 150 pug randoms being too bad to kill him.

If these “pug average players” cared enough about teq they would :

1.Learn about the encounter
2.Learn to organize each other
3.Get in with the good players on good overflows
4.Join a specialized Teq guild and learn from them.

The fact that they do NONE of these things means they don’t really care about winning at Teq.

You can’t show up 5 minutes early and expect to beat it. Why would you even think this would be a good thing?

People don’t have to have everything handed to them.

If here they fall they shall live on when ever you cry “For Ascalon!”

Chilipadiboy, I agree with you 100%! I am one of those silent average gamer, this is by the way the first time I write in the forum. I have played GW 2 for one and a half year, and I have really enjoyed the game! I have done “new” teq 5 times and succeed 1, and by the way, the reward considering the effort, required to succeed, is a bad joke!
I start regret I pre purchase the Hearts of Thorns, GW 2 is so not so fun any longer! Anet maybe don’t want average players, because like this they will lose us rapidly

A group of players who know what they’re doing will just kill the burrows fast and barely any gravelings will spawn.

Characters below 80 in dungeon groups are almost certainly played by new players so you can’t expect much from them.

It’s not because the character is below 80. It’s because players who know what they’re doing play level 80 characters.

You need to learn to :

1. Bring more condi removal.
2. Kite the “little gravelings” in such a way that they do not give you or the NPC “all the bleeds” – trust me it is doable. You can actually kite them in a way that they never even come close to NPC.

Am I typing in a foreign languange? Did you not see my older posts? By your logic, if I pay for the game and I “attempt” to log in but I am unsuccessful, I should still be happy because hey, it is not something that is guaranteed?

That is a false comparison, what I am saying is, if you are in a room with a boss, there should be two potential outcomes, you succeed or you fail. It should not be a guaranteed success if that boss happens to be blocking access to the next level of something, then until you are capable of taking it out you don’t progress, you still have access to the potential of doing that content though.

Back to the point. First off, you are not the main demographic. True you have your adoring fans and hardcore players with 9x level 80’s full ascended and god knows what (Good for you but most people do not have that time or dedication) but does that mean you earn the right to have content “exclusive” to you and no one else? Did you pay more for the game than everyone else?

Two points,
1. The “average” player is doing just fine I’m seeing Teq succeed more than it fails so that content is in no way exclusive.
2. As you approach harder content if it is genuinely harder it will naturally gate out more and more people as they don’t have the ability to complete it. That occurs in any skill based hobby/game/activity.

An MMO operates on global difficulty, in a single player game there may be easy , medium, hard, extreme, hardcore in an MMO those translate to % of the player-base capable of completing any given activity. Say 99% for easy, 50% for medium , 5% for hard and >1% for extreme., 0.1% for hardcore.
Teq was literally designed to be a challenging group content, meaning that you don’t just waltz in and succeed, that said a large portion of the player-base is successfully completing it.

Anyway if lets say everything in the game is completable by an unorganized group of average players what’s left for the elite organized guild groups or whatever it is you’re against , to do then?

All in all everyone in the game has one thing in common, we paid for the content. No matter if the person are Hardcore, Average, Super Casual or “I don’t play the game I just want to talk to people”, they deserve a REAL shot at finishing and succeeding everything.

That is not a game, that is a story, you just move along a path , your actions and skill don’t effect the outcome.
Think about what you just said, the people sitting in LA just chatting to people with no intention of playing deserve to succeed at everything? What? why would anyone do anything more than that if success was a reasonable likelyhood.

You get out of GW2 what you put in, if you’re putting in less be that time , effort or skill then you get less out, be that content you can finish, rewards or recognition.

I’m not happy with how the game has become. Tequatl is too hard now and it seems build specific now. I enjoyed the old version of Tequatl where you just needed to be organized and know what to do. Tequatl was one of my main sources of getting gold in the game and now I can barely defeat him even with an organized army. Worse the update to Tequatl has made people only want to argue over organize. I hope this gets fixed soon.

Lol, Tequatl is one of my lowest sources of getting gold. In fact I never really considered him giving anything worthwhile. The only reason I do Tequatl and Triple Trouble each day is because it’s fun to chat with other players on Ts. Without a Ts-Orga I wouldn’t even bother showing up.

Hitboxes were already fixed or teq still has only one critable hitbox?

I am a bit surprised by this and about how much times have changed…

It used to be a common thing that hard content wasn’t balanced around being accessible and completable by everybody.
Improving to be able to finish dungeons/raids/seiges/etc. used to be a major driving point for most players.

Guildwars 2 has never even been like that. With everything being made to give sure rewards to casual players if they try a few times.
Gear never mattered much, nor did the amount of time you played. You could always join the zergs to completely open world stuff or do farming runs. You’d eventually find a pug that enables you to run most dungeons.

Do we really need to decrease the difficulty of PvE content which wasn’t already that hard, just so absolutely everybody can complete absolutely everything?

100% Agree with you OP. Since the update every Teq has been a laughable exercise in watching the skillbar flash and do nothing while the event fails/disconnects.
Many here disagree might take a different view if they suffered the terminal lag that is effecting a large chunk of the player base. Would not recommend this game to anyone outside of the EU/US.
Simply unplayable in any group activity now.

The “get good” crowd is missing the point. With the guardian bug, you have no idea if it’s your strategy or simply how many guardians are on the map. So stop telling us your magic formula for success because at the moment it’s most likely the guardian bug.

Last night all the guardians retraited as symbolic avenger builds and I was whirling for over 200,000 damage. We finished with 13:43 left. This has NOTHING to do with skill or strategy so stop saying it does. Until they fix this exploit skill/strategy means nothing.

I agree with the opp. More: In GW1 we had our npc parties and we could do many dungeons on our own. Wish those times returned…

@OP

You still havent answered my question….

Exactly what part of the game is inaccessible to anyone?
What is preventing you from being able to participate in any part of the game at all?
What content is “too hard” as to not allow anyone to be able to participate?
Can you give specific examples?

“You know what the chain of command is?
It’s the chain I beat you with until you
recognize my command!”
