Thank you!
Yes, thanks for all the hard work.
Yeah thanks alot, putting so much effort in a well-done game!
Thank you indeed! The game might have some issues right now, but it is still my best MMO experience so far, and I’ve been into the genre for 10 years! Keep up the amazing work!
Many thanks! I love what you guys have done here. Having so much fun with everything, and hope that you don’t go back on features that you have put in.
Loving the game thanks. Bought a second copy for my son to play with me instead of sharing as its so good.
Yes this game is amazing and dont pay attention to the people who saying they are quiting or complaining, they are just part of the Entitiled generation that belives everyhting should be handed to them and they dont need to do any work.
I pretty much have a semi the whole time.
Many thanks.
Thanks for this great game!
Awesome game! Here’s some things I love about it:
- Abolished the holy trinity
- anybody can rez
- limited number of action buttons
- any class can gather any resource
- level scaling
- area quests
- participation credit
- visual & auditory cues (as opposed to reading quest texts)
- underwater movement
There’s more, but the list is composed of what I consider revelations. Keep up the good work, and thank you for making a game that’s fun to play!

Glad you’re all enjoying the game. Our developers have been working really hard over the past few weeks (many with very little sleep/no weekends) to fix the major issues as they could, and they’re continuing on making fixes. We appreciate that you all took the time to drop a little note of thanks.

What I love the most is how present and interactive they are. I love to see Gaile, Regina and all of the others posting and patiently dealing with our issues. And I just love how they actually listen to their players.
Some days ago, when I began receiving gold seller spam mail in the game, I sent a report ticket with a picture and a suggestion of a report mail functionality. Later that day I saw few players suggesting the same in community forums. The following day it was already in the game.
A while ago as well, some people made some posts about how they found the repeating queue pop ups annoying in overflow, and Arenanet gave us the “leave queue” option shortly after.
I mean, when we see things like this happening, as small as they may be, we already know that we’re not dealing with some of those ivory-tower developers who listen to no one but themselves. And we also know that they really are good at gathering important information and communicating that to developers themselves.
Heck, call me a fanboy if you will, but it’s hard not to be one when you’re dealing with people who make you feel that comfortable. I am willing to put all of my faith on this company.

Spot on. I would add that the game still has a lot of depth. CoH … a long time ago … had a great world and combat system. It was fast and fun. Guild Wars is really the first MMO since then (and I’ve played a few) that really still had e smiling after the first couple of hours of gameplay.
For me, the biggest accomplishment is one that I believe Gamespy and MMORPG both referenced … the down ranking in lower zones that helps keep content challenging. I’m not always looking for the +1 or +2 to level, but instead exploring somewhere that I wouldn’t normally gone. The way things have been incentivized is incredibly well done in GW2 and promotes a lot of good behaviour instead of punishing or allowing the bad.
Thank you very much ArenaNet. Seriously. You guys have made the game I’ve been wanting to play ever since other companies began mindlessly emulating World of Warcraft.
I can say with complete confidence that this is the best MMORPG I’ve ever played. I look forward to future patches and expansions.
I may have a few issues with it, but Guild Wars 2 is a pretty great game nonetheless. Really been enjoying it and look forward to what’s to come.
Agreed the sheer scale of what you have created here is simply breath-taking, time and again i just stop to look around… (unless i’m in orr solo stopping is just dangerous..)
The sheer amount of work thats been put into this game blows me away. I play this game on akittenfine rig at 2560×1600 and the amountt of time i spend just looking at my character is silly O.o
Events, dragons, crafting, combat, WvW still so much learn
Thank you Anet
Thanks a lot ANet,
I too love this game whole heartedly. I trust that this game will still be better then ever with time. And I will be there the whole time, I just wish there was more of a way that I can contribute in terms of micro transactions as a dedicated pvp’r.
I sold my store’s last copy of GW2 the other evening…and I don’t even work the electronics area! But she’d called asking if we had any left, and there was just one….I held it for her until she got there.
“Worth every penny” I told her. And it is. Thank you.

Thanks to the entire ArenaNet team for making an awesome game. It was a huge bet, and I’m very happy it worked :-)

Yes, I also want to say thank you very much! I’ve been wanting an MMORPG just like this and I love you guys/gals for it! I was also a fan of GW1 and now a bigger fan of GW2! :3
I haven’t had so much fun ever before, I am grateful and appreciate all your hard work and effort! Thank you and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the future! ^^
I’ll throw my love in here. An incredibly enjoyable and satisfying game. Quaggan entertain me all day long

This.
Thanks for the kind words everyone. And thanks for playing!
The game you guys created is so amazing it has brought out a lot of hate on many forums. I find it amusing. I know the game is not what everyone considers their “perfect” game but to call it “Full of Poo”, etc makes me laugh. The hard work you put into every detail of the game is awesome. It is so amazing, that even fans of the game don’t understand what they are fans of. If you’ve visited fansites, you’ll know what that last sentence means.
Thank you for such an amazing game.
I’d also like to thank you specifically for enforcing the code of conduct at Arenanet.
MMO communities have become synonymous with “total insanity,” and it’s incredible to see a company FINALLY take a stance against this kind of rampant problem.
You guys rock.
Thank you guys for being awesome! I hope you let those programmers get some sleep when this all calms down. Make sure you have lots of Mountain Dew and Fritos.
I haven’t seen any players with the Red Arena next to their name so far. Are you guys playing at all?
Thank you Arenanet, for reviving my faith in the intrinsic wonderfulness and potential of the MMORPG genre. This game is pure class in every way, from the gameplay to the engrossing build system, to the art design, to the music. I’m constantly amazed at the attention to detail and the amount of polish. Clearly, this game was the product of passion and energy.
I tried GW but didn’t really get into it much, even though I recognized it was a well-made game, mainly because I do prefer a large persistent world feel to an MMO. I was wary of the hype for GW2 and I didn’t even like the screenies and the vids very much. But actually playing the game is such a fun experience, you’ve made a convert out of me. I was not before, but I now am, an Arenanet fanboi
THANK YOU for making a game where I have to report core mechanic bugs to progress my character!

R.I.P. in piece, Guild Wars 2, August 2012 – September 2012
Also must throw in my thanks.
Maple Story was my very first MMO and I learned very quickly what I didn’t like about the genre. If I start feeling defensive just seeing other players in “my” map…something is just downright wrong with this picture. And if I hate the high grief potential in a free to play game, why on earth would I pay for that experience?
I left MS and went to GW1 because I didn’t have to play with anybody unless I wanted to. I could just relax and enjoy the world and not have to deal with people. But now…I can fight alongside total strangers again and it’s actually enjoyable and fun and not cringe-inducing. I am so glad this game exists with a fast map-travel cherry on top. It’s like it was made just for me!
And jumping puzzles! What is wrong with me?! I HATE platformers. Why do I love vistas so much?!
Who ever designed those Jumping Puzzles must be a very diabolical person!! But I love them!!! No matter how many times I fall and die I must go back and try again until I get that nice chest of loot…and than repeat it the next day lol
Thank You!!
Thank you very much! I appreciate all the hard work you are doing behind the scenes even after the game launched:) I’m excited to see what you got in store for us later down the road. (I saw a lot of unused Asura gates:P).
An amazing game. Ive not fallen in love with a game quite as much as this one for a long time. The level of detail in the world youve made amazes me.
Thanks of the amazing experiance and I look forward to more GW2 in the future.
THANK YOU for making a game where I have to report core mechanic bugs to progress my character!
Let’s not get carried away, shall we?
Care to elaborate? Or are you simply trying to manifest your hate with all of your recent posts?
Throwing my two pesos in for ‘great game, having a blast, don’t change a thing bu’cept what needs fixin!"
Other than the WvW queue (to be expected) there is nothing I don’t enjoy about Guild Wars 2.
Genius
seriously, i love this game. i can’t ask for more.
besides account name change and multiple realms. XD
Yeah, a big thank you.
World design is literally out of this world. Far better than I could have ever imagined. What I see here is a great game with even greater potential. I can’t wait to see what you guys create with the event system a few years from now, when you guys learned what works and doesn’t.
Thank you for this masterpiece. No doubt a lot of sacrifices were made in the making of this extremely ambitious game. We are grateful you guys managed to pull it off.
P.S. please don’t take the hateful comments some immature idiots make to heart. Let them die in their own poison.
Thank you for great music, beautiful artwork, and the hundreds of hours I already got out of it. Most of all thank you for no monthly subs!
Cheers to ArenaNet for being willing to risk all to begin a revolution and jump start the next generation of MMO’s.1
THANK YOU!!!
Please dont change too much. I love that this game is easy…. and at the same time very challenging!
Keep up the good work!@!!
Thank you so much for bringing us a game that is full to the brim with the love of those that created it, and the cracking involvement you’ve displayed with the community from day one.
Well I come home after work and see my TY post has gotten some attention guys, just got out of game, and I am STILL amazed at how fun adventuring in this game is.
THANK YOU so much for hard work and bring such a wonderful game. I love this game, GW2 is the best MMORPG in this time, keep up good work for improving GW2 and its community to become even better.
This game is simply amazing and blows away any expectations I had, and that is saying something because I had very high expectations. Congratulations Anet, you guys have proven your skill and have delivered a truly amazing experience. Now… if the only flaw can be fixed, I have a full time job and responsibilities keeping me away from this game!!!! ANET NERF REAL LIFE!!!
Yeah I’d also like to say thanks for all the hard work. People have already said why it’s such a great game and it is without doubt the best MMO I’ve played (and I’ve played most of them since DAoC). Getting close to one of the best games of any genre I’ve played. Keep up the great work!
I don’t know how you guys did it, but it’s like you crawled inside my head and created the perfect game for me. It’s fun, engaging, contemplative and simply gorgeous.
Big support to the people working so hard – we appreciate their efforts <3
yeah thanks alot best mmo in history for me personally:)
good to see IGN gave it a 9 aswell. (10 in graphics :0) well deserved.
Thank you for the game and all those things ( UI, NPC conversations, exploring beautiful world, sound, music, inventory management, puzzles, character animations, crafting, cities, gathering, attention to details and so much more ) that make game epic.
I imagine development has been very stressful for a lot of people. The game is wonderful and you should all be proud of your work. What you went through is appreciated by millions of players.
Time for everyone at Anet to start rotating vacation time. Take 4 weeks off each. Enjoy yourselves!
Thank you ArenaNet from me too, I am really glad that after years finally a MMO got the things right that are important to me in MMOs.
I want to add my thanks as well to the long list. just want to make it a little longer for all of you devs truly deserve it.
