No, not rats. Weasels? Perhaps. Skunks? Maybe. Slimy idea-and-credit-stealing kittens (the word substitution, not the baby feline)? Almost assuredly. Reasons for the adoption of a genocide policy? Most definitely.

The asura are rats, if not by looks, then because of their ego. At least according to their lore.

I always assumed asura have more in common with bats (large ears, dwelling underground, three toes, sharp teeth). Their teeth and some of their eyes closer resemble fish though.

If you listen to the NPCS around the world you will often hear them call Humans Mice. In Guild wars 1 EOTN they did as well if i remember correctly.

Mostly hairless: check
Sharp teeth: check
Used to live underground (until flushed out): check

I just don’t see it… They have big ears, but they flop down on the sides of their heads. The only rodent I’ve found that has 3 toes is the kangaroo rat, but Asura don’t hop around. Their anatomy looks more related to humans. Rodents also have pitch black eyes but the Asura have visible pupils with irises that vary in different colors. The shape of their heads don’t look rodent like either… They’re more round and spherical instead or long. I actually can’t help but get offended when people refer to them as rodents since I often play the Asura, and see it as a racial slur for them… If you have proof or any evidence that the Asura are rodents please share, but as of now I am just unable to see them as such.

This is exactly what a rat would say if it were trying to draw attention away from itself… ^^

I don’t much care what they are called, as long as it follows the adjectives “disgusting, little, conniving, egotistical, flop-eared, kittenen, cruel, kitten”…

That’d be a huge step backwards. Rata Sum has a nice, logical layout with crafting stations radiating around the bank and TP. The Black Citadel is a confusing mess of a ground plan. Kinda odd given their Roman inspiration and how methodically Roman military camps were laid out.

Actually it would be a step forwards, because all of the Asura would be dead.
