Guild Wars 2

I read on the GW2wiki what happened to the Crystal Desert. And it was one of my favorite areas in Guild Wars. The music was just amazing as was the history of the Crytal Desert. And if this question has been posted before, I apologize. But will we be able to enter the Crystal Desert, and by extention go to Elona/Kourna to battle Palawa Joko and the undead armies? To help the Sunspears again or at least help the Order of Whispers regain the land?

I really hope so, I miss Crystal Desert too.
But I believe before adding any new zone, after the lost shores fiasco, they will need to make a system that keeps new maps interesting and populated first.

Assuming Palawa Joko is going to resume his role as bad guy overlord of the dead-but-still-moving peoples when we get around to him. 250 years and a bunch of dragon’s can change a lot of $#!%, especially when one of them decides to take a dump in your backyard.

The Crystal Desert was also one of my favorite — no, it was my favorite — locations in the first game. That emptiness was both ominous and soothing. I have no doubt we will be seeing it again in an expansion. Probably the one featuring Kralkatorrik.

Don’t hold your breath waiting to see the Sunspears again though. They’ve been corrupted and twisted by Palawa Joko. They’ll likely be the bad guys this time around. Although I do hope ANet uses this opportunity to introduce the spear as a regular weapon in the game. I mean, it’s only one of the most common and oldest weapons ever used (not far behind the thrown stone and the femur club).

Many of us want to revisit old places from the 1st game. Elona, Cantha, etc…I think they have some big plans for the Lost Shores to make it worthwhile and maybe it will tie in returning to the old stomping grounds so to speak It’s in the middle of everything, after all and the Consortium are busy constructing/building there.

I agree, not the desolated char like lands but open deserts would be cool with oasis and animals and burrowing mobs to kill. Not the boring wurms tho, something that actually burrows and pops out not just stands there in the sand :P

Crystal Desert suggest more Abaddon lore. More Abaddon lore has a chance to give us more info about Arachnia.

Agree. Need zones that look different to what we already have.

Also, Desert Gate POI in Fields of Ruin has two guards standing there. So one can assume that Crystal Desert will be open in the future as explorable zone(s).
