Hi all,

After I’ve seen the most recent live-stream on twitch, I was left with 2 burning questions. The way the season 1 of the Living Story was presented was 4 patches that finish Scarlet’s story and tie up all of the loose ends around her and 1 patch with no story only system updates, but now during the latest stream (during the time of this post is being written) there should be a maintenance patch and a feature patch and then the second season starts.
Can anyone please tell me what is going on?
How many patches are left between season 1 and season 2 of the Living Story? (I count the non-story patches as the intermission)

Has Anet even announced when season 2 will start? I was under the impression they hadn’t yet decided when it would start.

Alright, mr helpful. OP and I are still looking for an answer.

We don’t know how many patches to come as they haven’t announced this information yet, but I suspect (or hope) for an announcement of what is to come following Season 1. It is very long overdue now.

Anet has stated there will be a break between Season 1 and Season 2, but they also stated there will be feature-only update(s?). Meaning that while there won’t be story progression, there very well may still be an update every two weeks.

There is going to be patch on March 18th. It is not “the big one”, however. They are apparently removing glory then.

The maintenance build is March 18. That is when they’re removing glory from Pvp and all that. The big feature build will be after that because as every1 knows, the Battle for Lions Arch is in two days, and after that, Anet will take a short break and then the feature patch will go up and then they’ll kick off Season2 living story

Even if they update it will happen. 5 people on my not so very large friendlist already told me that they preordered TESO.

Huh ? I think you are incorrect. It cannot be after the break since it would mean the feature patch would come at an unexpected date, faster than the 15 days habit after 18th March : would not be a break for them.
So it’s more before or during break and it will very likely be before the break unfortunately :/

So in conclusion, we don’t know exactly how much time until season 2 because we don’t know how long the feature/ maintenance patches will last or how many of them there will be. We just know when the WvW tournament is held but not how long the break between seasons is.
