As repairing it is free and armor isn’t lost when broken… what is the point of having armor become damaged? Just remove it.

The only impact damage has on anything, is to cause real frustration when doing a difficult dungeon or quest. You try to do something difficult, over and over again and it rewards you by stripping your armor away. If the insist on making content difficult and to make us work for stuff… then don’t punish us for it either.

Yet the minute the quest is over, you simply repair it.

Why even have damaged gear?

It’s meant to be a setback (you loose the stats temporarily if you keep failing), but not a punishment (no costs in repairing armour)

That’s exactly the point. It’s so you can’t going in, wiping, going in, wiping etc. Incentivises playing more carefully. It’s good for fractals ( was ) now they’re so easy but it’ll be good for raids. Also, it’s ( putting on my tinfoil hat ) a gold sink. You usually wp to use it or in difficult content, pop a repair canister which is like 20 gold in gems.
