The specializations system is bad
I agree. I’m just glad I’m not interested in any of the “elite” specializations, my builds are perfect now. I’m not even interested in the new area, I’m still in SW to farm gold. And I am saying this as a person who bought Ultimate… XD
So what you want for your endgame then?People complain about masteries, about grinding… now you complain about specs…What is good endgame for you?Let me guess,Rping in LA?

New dunegoens with proper difficulty scaling and rewards?
Raids?
New PvP modes?
Locking a spec that players want to try out behind a hellish grind is not end-game , no matter how you look at it.
Man, just imagine a casual player(normal adult) having 2-3 hours of playtime after work. How much time it will take him to do it for say, 3 characters?

Meh its not that bad. masteries are account bound after all so it will be much easier to get hero points on your other characters
