Title Request for JP Completion
Pro-tip- look in the Achievements tab to see what doing this stuff will net you. If you don’t think the 10 AP/jumping puzzle is worth the effort, then just don’t do them.
As a general rule it’s best to research things instead of deciding ahead of time that you were going to get something then complaining when you don’t. If you had bothered to check you would have found out that JPs give AP points but there is no title for doing all. Places to look are on your hero panel and the wiki, or you can ask other people. Checking there will tell you a lot about the game and what to expect.

What jumping puzzles do you think should give you a title? If it isn’t 2012 Clocktower levels of hard I don’t think a title is merited. Especially if you can port to the end like you can with 90% of JPs.
New Jumping Puzzles are added all the time. Where is the cut-off? If it’s just the originals, then what is the incentive to do any new ones, if a ‘killer Title and/or some type of reward’ is the only reason for doing them?
As above, if you seek Titles or particular rewards, the Wiki is a great resource, accessed via the link above.
Good luck.

I think JP’s have always been intended to be for their own sake. When they aren’t, when they are needed for other things (see: Mursaat tokens, Winter’s Presence, and the like), there is generally unhappiness on the forums as a result. What you see as incentive, others see as “forcing” them to do JPs.

First, I’m not agreeing with the OP that Anet is somehow at fault for not giving a title. They don’t give titles for a lot of things. That said:
I don’t generally do JP, but given what sillier things they give titles for I could see them giving a title for completing all JP. And they give more than a title for World Completion and they add to “the world” all the time. However for JP they could do it various ways: divide the puzzles into “difficulty classes” and give a title for completing each class. Or give one title for completing all and just keep adding JP like they do for World Completion. Or make a historical cutoff and give one title for completing all puzzles that were in the game at one point and add another title for whatever JP were added to a point. Etc.
back in my days we just had to wait for the mesmer to port me
I used to think that “Honors in Applied Jumping” was a jumping puzzle title. Then I did my research.

I just did them because they’re there and I wanted to beat them all. A title would be nice but I’m fine with how they are now. They could retroactively add a title for finishing all core-jp’s (the ones in the special tab).
As other people have said I think jumping puzzles are supposed to be their own ‘reward’. With a few exceptions they’re not a core part of the game’s content, they’re just a bit of fun hidden in the maps, something you can do or ignore as you feel like.
I’ve done every single one at least twice, and any time I realise I’m near one I’ll complete it (unless I don’t have time). I can’t remember anything I got from the chests, I don’t think there was anything special. But they’re fun to do so I don’t feel like I need anything else.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
While I agree that someone whining about something you didn’t researched before doing is not good, I really feel the point of the OP.
JP are a wonderful and legit challenge. I doesn’t make sense there isn’t more achievements, titles or rewards linked to them.
You walk the old maps doing all things except JPs and get “Been There Done That” (new maps aren’t required to get it) . You zerg-kill a boss that spawn next to you by mere chance and you get “The Executioner”. You collect 200 gold and you are “Golden”.
You do every single JP there is, including Obsidian Sanctum, Skipping Stones and the Clocktower and you get… nothing.
I love doing them, but it kinda feel like being the ugly duck in the pond. Everyone else get their nice titles by doing what they like… :_(
The fact the “Distinction in Applied Jumping” title is NOT related to jumping puzzles baffles me. Knowing there is also a “Honors in Applied Jumping” that isn’t either linked to JP simply makes me cringe.
that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

The entirety of SAB is an elaborate jumping puzzle, so it makes sense to me, completing the required achievements requires alot of runs in SAB, which in turn, is a giant JP.

Here come irony of guild wars, you all do silly stuff for titles instead of fun and guess what. NOONE CARES ABOUT THE TITLES, onyly titles in last 10 years of both guild wars where someone gave some kitten about when he saw them on somebody else are: “amount of titles you gathered, title(ex: God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals)” from Guild Wars and “The Eternal, Slippery Slubling” from Raids, nothing else is revelant to anybody.

So I just found out you don’t get a title for full completion of the jumping puzzles… you don’t really get anything actually.. some crap loot from the chests. One would think you would encourage players to accomplish such feats with either A… some type of reward or B.. a killer title.. But like so many other things one is just left with disappointment and the thought of “why the hell do I even play?” anyway… thanks for another kick in the teeth Anet.. THAT is something you are good at.
Can you change the title to reflect your post?

JP’s always give “bad” loot. If a JP dropped “Fat loot” then it would become a must do everyday. No one wants that. Most people enjoy being able to do what they want and have the same change as everyone else at getting something good.

My eye twitched a little when I read this. Best argument yet for bad loot in a JP lol because having to do THAT JP every day would make me throw kittens in the microwave.

I saw someone with a title the other day, researched it, and said no thank you. It looks like you have to pay 1000g for the title…No, thats not a typo, some people REALLY care about titles, think about that for awhile.

That 1000 gold title is most likely bought and worn by a leaderboard climbing Achievement Point Hunter for the 5 AP it got him, to get that much higher on the leaderboard above his competitors. And then of course he wears it to show off since he has it. However he likely didn’t buy the title for the title itself. He spent that gold for the AP.
For example, from another thread from one of the top AP hunters
Speak for yourself, I spent 1000g for the 5 AP.
ANet may give it to you.

There’s the carnival patronage title “I’m rich you know” that you get for paying them 1000g.

A title for completing all vanilla jump puzzles wouldn’t be a bad idea at all.

Except that you wouldn’t actually have to “do” the JP every day. You just park a character there. Then, every day, just log in, open the chest and get your Phat Loot. Better yet, park however many toons you want there. Phat Loot x times every day for practically no effort. That’s probably why the loot isn’t that good. It’d be way to easy.

That does work every 8 weeks.
