Completely redone UI for the trading post.
More search options (Yay, finally can search light/medium/heavy), including certain stats.
Don’t think I’ll ever use the stats filter, unless I can just say Precision and not give it a number (or if they’re hard coded values/numbers). Overall (without being able to test it), it looks like an improvement, though the removal of tabs and pickup list (seeing the items, not just a number) seem like steps backwards.
The “new unified order dialog” seems more complicated then it used to be. Not sure I’m going to like it, but will wait and see it in action before really judging it.

AT LAST. But still, it’s what should have been expected in the first place, not 2 years later :-/
One question remains: will we see more of…
ERROR ATTEMPTING TO SELL
Looks like a nice revamp, especially having the withdrawal box available anywhere in the Post UI. Performance improvements are very welcome as well. Rounds out a solid list of new and improved stuff for this pack, especially with the short turnaround from the first one. Thanks ANet!

I can’t help but be worried about the big “BUY MOAR GOLD!” Button at the top. Im hoping its just a link to the Currency Converter though.

Should that matter? Anet is in a lose lose situation with comments like that
They don’t fix something, people will complain that it’s not here
They fix something, people will complain that it should’ve been fixed long ago
As a veteran I am pleased. This was the feature fix I was waiting for
One question remains: will we see more of…
ERROR ATTEMPTING TO SELL
That’s the question!
Haha. An unambiguously good and useful change, and already the thread is full of negativity.
now this is a QoL rework well worth adding. better late than never.
Thanks Anet!!!! Good stuff!
Thanks for the hard work and the nifty looking revamp. Looking forward to it.

Ahh … to late to post it here that my inner Prophet says :
more people will rage about that than be happy with the changes
BUY MORE GOLD button ..
does this mean we can buy gold for IRL money?
This is one of the best patch ever in GW2 for sure.
So, basically adding exactly what people have been demanding since release. Lets see how long it takes before people complain about them spending time on useless stuff that no-one cares about

Your signature made me think, then it made me sad.
If I saw “Error Attempting to Sell” in the new Trading Post…

Honestly, it’s kinda hard to tell how functional the new trading post will be without taking it for a spin.
It is also fun to complain.
Improving the visibility of the fees incurred while using the Trading Post was also important. Previously, we’d show you the listing fee and projected profit when selling, but this left out the successful exchange fee that comes out of the seller’s profit on every transaction. Feeding all those birds that shuttle your wares to the Trading Post isn’t cheap, or so Evon claims. It was better than nothing, but we got a lot of feedback that the projected profit was confusing because we weren’t calling out all the fees. The new selling UI in the Trading Post explicitly calls out both the listing fee and the exchange fee, so there shouldn’t be any surprises when selling.
What I find disturbing is that “projected profit” got removed and replaced by two fees. I am afraid that this was done on purpose, to make people do all the math themselves. The main complaint about “projected profit” (as stated in the post) was not that we wanted to see the fees… the complaint was that it didn’t calculate all the fees.
Wow, this is great! Obviously most of their work for this feature patch has been dedicated to the Trading Post re-build. It would have been nice if they had lead with this announcement though…
It’s a great revamp. It’s a shame the other two weeks don’t compare.
Thank you Anet, this is at least one of the changes I had been hoping to see for a long time.
Search item by profession – Finally a filter to keep from clicking NEXT to get past armor I can’t use.
I can’t help but be worried about the big “BUY MOAR GOLD!” Button at the top. Im hoping its just a link to the Currency Converter though.
If it actually makes our fellow players to stop buying from you-know-who who in turn spam us every now and then, I would be happy regardless of where it takes me.
Although this is a very nice improvement to the game I am very pleased this topic didn’t introduce player-to-player trading as that would not only destroy the TP but probably the game as well.

…Why would they do that on purpose?
“Aha! Lishtenbird made a mistake on his maths, and now a couple more silver are going to be removed from the economy! Mwahaha!”
“Good job, Evil Developer! Your devious UI design has fooled another of our witless players into losing a marginal amount of money!”

This… I don’t want to math. Just tell me how much I’ll get for selling x item.
BUT. Overall, LOVE this change. So glad the trading post is finally getting fixed. <3
Overall I’m pretty happy with the TP changes. Better filters is a QoL change that I’ve been hoping for for a while now – I especially like the stats filters, which will help with gear searches, but also make searching for foods MUCH easier.
Also, I’m so glad that it will be possible to filter out unlisted items as well as armor that the toon I’m shopping for can’t even equip.
BUY MORE GOLD button ..
does this mean we can buy gold for IRL money?
You could have done that since forever by buying gems and trading them for gold. I have a weird feeling about that button myself. :/

You have always been able to buy gold with RL money. You buy gems then convert gems to gold.
“Mom, can I use your credit card for an in-game purchase?”

I don’t think you can pick up your TP items anywhere. The ‘box’ just shows what is waiting for you at a Trader to be picked up, and is visible anywhere on the Trading Post UI.
Well this is all very good work (much better than the commander tags colors). It looks very well done.
Now please get the content rolling: new WvW maps, guild halls, GvG content, new high-level dungeons, news areas, new skills, etc. So that I can keep enjoying this game.

Nice catch. Didn’t see that when I looked at it. I was thinking the second one was the projected profit, but its just another fee. I don’t care what the fees are, since we can’ t change them, I just want to see what I’m going to actually get from selling it.

Thats how I read it as well. If they let us pickup stuff anywhere, whats the point of even having the npcs then?

I see no Buy More Gold button anywhere. There is a Get More Gold which is what happens when you sell your items on the Trading Post.
Let’s see how it will work on non armor/weapons, e.g. Recipes, trinkets, materials, water breather, colors, all the stuff that were rather difficult to find in the current one.
And just for interest: how many percent of your bought armor is for wearing?
I bough (parts of) an lvl 20 set for my new char, far the most armor I bough was for scrapping. Would be cool if I could search for items giving linen (or ectos or …) on opening/scrapping.
Another cool feature (especially with respect to the new collections) would be a click on a skin in the wardrobe, buy items with that skin in BLT.

The post doesn’t say the Projected Profit is being removed; it says that both fees are being explicitly listed. The two are not mutually exclusive.
For me this change is unncessary. If anything it makes my gameplay soon worse. There’s a lot of (minor but important) things I like about current tp, and Anet is removed 90% of it. It’s clear from the screenshots alone, that certain things will be much harder to reach in the future.
The new Sell/Buy huge square buttons for instance. Bad bad bad. Sorrie, it may be good for new players but it isn’t for vets. In a split second, i can now without a doubt go from buy listing, sell listing, selling and back again. With new box, misclicking is more warranted if you want to speedclear some actions. And if that happens you gonna have to drag your mouse all to the left and right again to fix it to go to right window. This may sound as crying, but It just baffles me that something that was ‘efficient to use’ will now be ‘less efficient to use’. Taking a step back is never good, and this is going there. You should give player the option to use old trading post, or something similar. I hate the huge new sell/buy tabs.
Trade post is something, i’d like to go tru as fast as possible. New trade post UI will prevent that.

Unfortunately what he said is true. These are great changes, but I hardly use the TP that way anymore. Looking for armor was something I did 2 years ago & it was a major pain. Now I’m just selling junk & some rares & buying more of what I already have. The changes are awesome, but it is late. Better late than never I guess. tbh this is, again, more of a new player thing.
And I don’t think it’s “lose lose” as you said. They should look at this & say “maybe we should spend more time fixing things that people ask for rather than making another episode where we try to convince the players that Scarlet is cool”

Look at the screenshot again. It doesn’t have the project profit anywhere on it.
I’m sure they’re test items, but what are the Black… items in the inventory in the screenshot?

Wow… I mean… just wow. Im speechless…
So stoked for armor filters! Thanks ArenaNet! This is a fantastic change. I really like that you did away with tabs so we don’t lose our filtering selections anymore. It looks wonderful. The interface looks super clean and everything about seems to be easier to understand.

Good stuff. The first blog entry I am actually excited about! Big QoL improvements for the Trading Post.
Yep, after two years, the trading post will finally be usable. Yay.
Love almost every part of this. The only black sheep to me is the “Buy More Gold” button.
One of the features I’m looking forward to in the new Trading Post UI is the listing of items to sell by placement in your bags. That will be really helpful for me. Can’t wait to check out the new and improved Trading Post! =)

Poorly worded, perhaps. I meant anywhere within the interface. I assume that this part means I don’t have to go to a separate screen to take out items and gold.

“We’ll release exciting things for veteran players”… I’ve been defending ANet for months now, so playing the “you’ll swoon before our new features” and releasing something quite basic kinda hurts my feelings.
