With the arrival of specializations, a problem has occurred that was arguably not as prevalant as before. This is reflected in the title, because as it stands now specializations offer so much but certain traits (and thus traitlines) are holding back build synergy. I believe that if certain traits were made to be inherent, then builds that might not have been as viable or even possible would see the light of day. This would drastically improve diversity, and with it enjoyment. Here is a list of traits with my reasoning of why, and if you disagree then please argue your point (I know you will) and I will endeavor to change the list.

Guardian – Master of Consecrations / Perfect Inscriptions
Consecrations are great, and might see more use if they didnt have such ridiculous recharge times. I cant think of any reason to ever go into radiance for signet mastery, and they are already extremely underwhelming as it is.

Warrior – Furious
I know many of you will disagree with me and vote for fast hands, but that is simply way too powerful to make baseline just like that. I think adrenaline build up is a far bigger problem. I dont think the condition damage buildup should be included with furious.

Ranger – Brutish Seals
Rangers most powerful active defense is plagued by very long recharge times, making engagement very hazardous when namely Signet of Stone is on cd.

Thief
Not sure on thief.

Engineer – Backpack Regenerator / Gadgeteer
Backpack regenerator is a big survival boost, and at the same time another passive. I chose gadgeteer because these guys are still very underappreciated, underused, and pretty much not very impressive.

Mesmer – Deceptive Evasion
This trait is extremely important for both condition and power builds.

Necromancer – Vital Persistence
Sustain is always a problem with necromancer, and making this baseline would do wonders for that.

Elementalist – Evasive Arcana / Cleansing Water
A toss up between the two.

Some of the classes I am either not so knowledgeable of or biased towards, so please be constructive (crosses fingers). Lets cry loud enough that our overlords will hear us! Nah but seriously I think this would help a lot.

Team Deathmatch for PvP – Raise the AoE cap for WvW – More unique events for PvE

Ohgods no. I don’t want dodges overwriting my phantasms at random when I dodge.
Tremendously useful for my various shatter builds, obviously, but when I’m running a full stack, I don’t want my dodge screwing up my clone presence.

Not to mention, Mesmer got a lot of stuff baseline moving into Traits 3.0.

Warrior – Furious
I know many of you will disagree with me and vote for fast hands, but that is simply way too powerful to make baseline just like that. I think adrenaline build up is a far bigger problem. I dont think the condition damage buildup should be included with furious.

Warrior certainly needs something, and Fast Hands is popular. I don’t agree with it (lol stop spamming skills off cooldown), and people would still take Discipline for Warrior’s Sprint, so it wouldn’t free up spec selection as much as people claim.

A base change to adrenaline would be suitable. Perhaps instead of 10 per bar, move it to 8 per bar. It would equate to an increase in gain without something drastic as 2/hit.

A change like that would run a bit foul of the traits and signet that up adrenaline gain, and personally, I don’t have a problem getting it when I need it.

To be honest, Warrior needs buffs across the board (except greatsword), in order to feel useful again.

Many alts; handle it!
