If I understand this correctly content to be completed for the daily will be more personalized.

We have no idea. For all we know everyone will have the same dailies to do, the same as it is today. There was nothing in the info that suggested departure from this approach.

But you’re wrong there, not everyone gets the same dailies now, as someone pointed out above, a person with a lower level character had a different set of dailies than a person with a higher level character.

I missed the post you’re referring to, but I’ve never once seen different dailies on my two accounts. They’ve always been identical, and I did dailies on both accounts regularly for months this year.

My wife has a new account that gets different dailies than her main account. If you have 80s on both accounts you’ll never notice it, because you’ll get the same dailies. But she showed me.

She got fractal daily on one account and veteran slayer for the account that didn’t have an 80. Also her monthlies were different.

My friend and I both have 80’s and we occasionally get a different daily or monthly.

Huh, interesting. Today I learned, etc. Thanks for the information, both.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

i just hope they don’t make the “easy” daily worth less then it already is, it’s already barely worth it and with just one laurel it’s quite a grind to get enough.
just don’t make the dailies with "laurels exclusive to champion kills/fracture finish/dungeon finish because that would make dailies completely useless to me.

Adding specific rewards for each daily automatically make it worth more than not having said reward.

Laurels are being removed from dailies altogether as far as I understand it.

It’s if you don’t have an 80 on the account, I believe. My wife’s account was brand new. Her highest level character wasn’t suited to fractals, so she didn’t get that daily.

Your math is a little off, under the new system it will only take someone 4 years and a little over 1 month to reach the new maximum 15000 pt AP total for dailies, not 5 years. For you specifically, it will take another 2 years and 4 and third months to reach the daily maximum, so it will be sometime in 2017, not the end of 2016.

I know that getting 15k AP with 10/days is a little over 4 years, and not 5 complete years. But chances are, most new players – even hardcore – will miss some dailies. If I had to start now, I would count 5 years and probably actually need 4.5.

For me specifically, I would have been done before the end of 2015 with the old system (I still need 3861 points to reach the 10k limit, which would let me finish on the 2015-11-02 if I grind ALL dailies EVERY day … I miss some of them so I had plans for 2015-12-31). With the new system I’ll miss 3861 + 2694 (how did you calculate without knowing my current monthly score ?) = 6555 => if I don’t miss any daily [and if the system is not changed again before that] I’ll be done on the 2016-10-01, not in 2017. That’s 11 more months, my previous rough calculation was not too far from reality.
Of course it’s earlier than my “end of monthlies” date in the old system (march 2017) but I liked the idea to be done with the daily limit earlier as monthlies are not the same kind of preoccupation.

Nah it affected some monthlies too. The thing is, if you can’t do it at a lower level, they replace it with something you can do.

People ask for stuff and then forget that it’s been asked for. More than once I’ve seen people on these forums bring up Zaishen Missions from Guild Wars 1, and that seems to be what this is.

For those who want to actually just get rewarded, they just log in. They don’t have to do anything else.

For those who want to do the stuff for the extra rewards, they do that specific content.

In Guild Wars 1, if you had a Z mission for something that you weren’t at on one character, you logged into another one to do it, no big deal. The same is true here.

The rewards for these new dailies seem to have nothing at all to do with the old dailies, except for achievement points.

So now Anet is saying yes, if you want to have achievement points, you have to go a bit out of your way, instead of giving you what amounted to free achievement points every day.

The people saying I can’t play another character are wrong. Like everything else, you can make a choice to do whatever you can fast on higher level characters and then go to lower level ones, or you can forgo the achievement points for one day since the other rewards you seem to get just for logging in.

I’m sure a small percentage of players will not like this. But I think far more will either like it, or not be affected by it at all.

Vayne, I’m trying to keep an open mind until I know how this plays out live, but saying “just log over to a high level” doesn’t change the fact that I may not be in the mood to play a high level at that point in time.

Anyway, I’m still undecided on all of this, I simply don’t know enough to declare it a good or bad change. It doesn’t help that ANet’s policy seems to have changed from “Don’t talk about things under development” to “Don’t talk. Announce, then run.”

And in Guild Wars 1 if you wanted to do a Z mission you had to log in on the character that could do it. This is how this is like a Z mission.

We have tons of stuff in the game already. Many of us have done most if not all of it. Just like Z missions there was a mission, a bounty and a PvP thing every day and it was random. You didn’t always want to do it.

The daily rewards that we used to get, with the exception of the achievement points, we’re getting anyway. We don’t have to do content for this. This is going to send you every single day to specific content for a reward…while still getting the basic rewards we used to get.

It’s an extra thing that rewards you for doing the content that the game selects, which is exactly what a z mission was.

however, Z quests can be picked up at any given time and hold on to, you can always do them later on.
dailies are randomly chosen and when you have something you want to do but don’t have the time for at the time then you’re screwed, completely different.

oh and if you know how to navigate the wiki, Z quests are not random, they follow a specific pattern.

Correction. You could only have three z quests at a time. You had to do or cancel on to get more.

Edit. As for following a pattern, I don’t see how that’s relevant.

It’s still doing specific content for specific reward.

Good thing I’m not playing Guild Wars 1, then. Never have, so saying it’s like a “Z mission” means nothing to me.

As they seem to have become part of the topic, anyone mind telling me what the smurf they are?

We have tons of stuff in the game already. Many of us have done most if not all of it. Just like Z missions there was a mission, a bounty and a PvP thing every day and it was random. You didn’t always want to do it.

This is actually one of the things that makes me WANT to do it with lower level characters. My main for playing LS stuff right now is my level 80 SB/LB ranger (don’t laugh, I make it work). I can easily use him for just about anything I want, but the problem is that I HAVE used him for just about everything that I want. Maybe I’d like to change it up and spend the day playing my turret engineer, or my hammer warrior.

With the old dailies, I could generally do that. With the new ones, I’m worried that I won’t be able to. Mind you, I generally went for the chest, and stopped there unless there was some other easy one to get for a bit more EXP. I didn’t really worry about AP, because I knew I’d still slowly earn them. That may not be the case now, I’ll have to worry about AP if I want to get any.

Ah well. One day, and then we’ll find out just how much hits the fans.

After careful consideration, I’ve decided that this new system might be alright (although I’ve no idea about the laurel situation i.e. how many is in each bag – Laurels are the reason I do the dailies & monthlies) I’ll be able to log in shortly after reset, determine which the easiest 3 in PVE are to do as well as the best time to do them. Come back later if inconvenient, will have already gotten the “log in daily” reward done, then the 3 “dailies” in hopefully less than a half hour. Log out and go spend my time playing something else. Win-win!

“With the Wintersday festival coming on December 16, we’re releasing a new version of the daily achievement system. "

Well either they lied as their normal bait and switch policies, or they botched the release. Logged and and apparently the daily login achievement isn’t active or working.

Someone in game just said “new Dailies, even if you did last nights are active…daily login-in, is not for those that were logged in after 4pm yesterday or before todays reset.”

What kind of programming incompetence is that. Basically Anet said login rewards on the 16th. Apparently that’s not working. Anet lies about their promotions yet again.
