Very annoying feature in-game!
I imagine that this happening was unintended, and I know there are a lot of people who are requesting that ANet include a feature that will allow the player to chose the range at which enemies appear.

“Quaggan’s a piwate! Yarr!” – “Pirate”
I find this really annoying as well. I am having to guess where the enemy mobs and just attack the area.
I would rather it prioritize enemies over other players if there has to be some limitation.

I agree, but then you or other wouldn’t be able to res if you go down, well there would be less chances of getting a ress, since someone might not see you. Seen plenty of times when someone is properly down appear after a large delay, just being there a bit far away. By the time I’ve noticed him/her, it has usually been too late for the res. And there is no luck trying to get someone up when there are loads of mobs around, unless you got a group that are able to res.
In the control options set a hot-key to target the closest enemy. Done and done.

Acidic that isnt a proper fix. The draw distance and amount of max renders needs to be increased.
Pretty sure it’s due to player population, it seems like in very crowded areas, you get put in “limited visibility” mode.
You can see it during some events, where you run around and see 10+ mobs spawn and die instantly because they are already dead. You can also see other players appearing and disappearing depending on where you are standing.
I dont like it. I want to be able to stand on a mountain and see people and mobs moving around like ants

Thanks for the feedback folks. If such a feature is implemented in the future, we’ll be sure to make an announcement.
