I can understand,im not liking an increase in casting time either but just saying,add some agility sigil perhaps on gs now they removed hydro or throw in heightend focus trait etc.
Y’know what would be a real GS nerf? Taking Might on crit off the trait and putting it directly on Phalanx Strength.
Bam, weapon choice is allowed again.

I really don’t see why,cast increase ins’t that bad.Be happy it isnt a direct dmg or aoe radius nerf.

Point out where GS had any other skill increased and it being increased by .5 secs, go ahead I will wait. Since that is what the OP was complaints mg about.

I main Warrior, ever since I began. I play it everywhere.. PvP, WvW, Raids, Dungeons, Fractals.. you name it!
But today, my heart broke. The first time I saw Arc Divider cast.. the Warrior inside me died. Thank you Anet.. really.
As said above, I honestly have no clue to what Anet was thinking nerfing GS in PvE. PvP I get because they were considered the “top class” to play, but honestly with all the changes this season, PvP is dead regardless. PS Power warrior is now even further behind in comparison to condi PS in almost every way. Why nerf the class when it was ALREADY struggling in DPS and relevancy? With the update now, its almost impossible to realistically get the 5th arcing slice unless you have 100% quickness up time. I don’t understand why Anet made changes to a class that was already low on the dps charts.

i just hate that it ruins the gameplay (it all feels so kitten slow now)
I get that some skills are OP, but maby reduce the AoE radius or its dmg or whatever.. making it so kitten slow on pretty much everything now if you use gs/m+s and headbutt just ruins the gameplay
Reduced cast times aren’t fun in play. I’d prefer a damage reduction or range reduction as well.

Its funny you mention that, the recently NERFED arc divider and headbutt are not affected by quickness. Go ahead, try to cast your 1 second arc divider with quickness on.
why did they nerfed the GS skills on pve? I understand they nerfed those in pvp to balance things, but why do that to pve too? jesus anet ppl don’t compete on pve, most of them just want to have fun fighting npcs around the world, this GS changes make things too slow to be able to fully enjoy this particular weapon on pve with the warrior-berserker class

Ego check time. The nerf was stupidly insignificant. They could have added .5s to the cast time and it would still be strong enough to be viable.

You know that condi PS was hit extremely hard by this patch dps wise? Trying with the pre patch rotation i noticed a ~3-4k decreased DPS. You just miss one or two F1 (the window to get the last Bow F1 out is like 0.1 sek now…). Maybe a new rotation can fix 1k maybe 2k, but you wont get as high as before. Those .5 sek more CD on the F1 are just that bad.

Guys after a day of me playing the nerfed gs ,it is literally a huge nerf probably about 20% dps overall .Also i found out that i die more often cause of the animations with our primal heal and arc divider .I want a dev to answer me whats the logic of this change in PvE i understand it on PvP but in pve we already struggling to keep the damage up why you nerf it??Is it just some lazy work you were bored to play with the damages a little?thats what this change IS!Why you want all warrior to convert to condi let us have some identity as a class i am a warrior i dont wanna play ranged and with torches and stuff i wanna go in do respectable damage and trying to surviving as much as possible ,if i wanted to be a ranged dps class i would be a ranger or an ele!

Believe me this nerf, on headbutt , hits wvw the most, and its completely out of order. Feels like whoever decided to do this is complete noob, but thats quite possible since we seen how they “fix and test” epi. Great work indeed.

Well you could always go condi sword/shield mate no ranged or torch there.

- Power PS was already worse than condi PS in PvE (except for KC)
- It is usually always better to just tweak the raw damage numbers a bit (10% reduced damage for example) than to change cooldowns / cast times since that kittens up playstyles and rotations and takes the fun out of the fluent gameplay
- The only time when cast time changes can be really justified is in PvP for example when skills are being casted too fast for other players to react
It doesnt make much sense to nerf cast times vs computer enemies though
If Anet found it was necessary to nerf it for PvP then they should have split balanced it in this case i think

It is minor,but its an unwanted nerf.I rather see a nerf on damage or aoe radius.Think any proper thief will ever get hit by your headbutt again ? And no i dont mean that random thief that spamms 1.They need to atleast allow quickness to have effect on headbutt/arc.

People are upset because this was a stupid nerf to it honestly. If Anet agreed that it needed to be nerfed (and its obvious they did), then it should have had its range and/or damage reduced, not have its cast time increased.
I personally think they did it for two reasons. The obvious one is to try and make axe compete with GS and the other is to make the upcoming profession seem more enticing to the player base as a whole. This is probably why casting speed was targeted and not direct damage; it affects gameplay as well as damage. GS was very good and only outclassed by condi PS warrior in raids but in open world and dungeon content it matters very little if you can keep 25 might stacks up because the warriors main job is to be a might slave. This nerf however is unwarranted in PvE since GS warrior is no where close to the top dps class.
What tilts me hard about this as a Warrior GS main is how sluggish Arc Divider feels and the fact that I just made Sunrise.
