I have always been interested in this subject. Has anyone received a precursor from a really odd location? Someone told me they once received one via an NPC guard in WvW.

I have received one in the 6000 hours I have played, that from a mob in Cursed Shore…you?

A friend looted one from lupi during a guild run. It’s like lupi finally decided to reward us for all those times we’ve killed him.

Over 2000 hours and have not seen hide nor hair of a precursor. Although I did get the jetpack back piece in the living story dungeon with the Molten Alliance.

I had the hunter drop in jan 2015 in CoE from a tiny little asura risen thrall. and ive played since head start weekend b4 the game launched

This is why I suggested loot not forging. I want others to realize there is hope…I’ve been trying it all the last 6 months without success

I got Dusk from a lvl 57 flame legion trash mob running from flame shaman to the old linen farm , kinda freaked me out lol

Nothing, most likely never will get one. Though my luck I’ll get something the day before the servers shut down for good just to spite me.

my imagination. (7000 hours no drop – I played 9 months before I got my 1st exotic drop).

Individually its not weird, but THREE of my guild mates got precursors off of blackgate players in wvw. We hunt them now for loot.

I never have gotten one that I know of. But at one point I was in an AC Detha path run with guildies. We almost never skip trash, and one of my guildies got the mace precursor off those little spiders right before you go down to do the chain-pull spikes vs. gravelings.

After 7400hours I got Rage from some random enemy in edge of the mist. Needless to say I raged about this insulting worthless precursor.

The weirdest place I looted a precursor was in my dreams.

The only one I got from not using the MF was the lover from Malrona on my Mesmer, she is my good luck charm. I only have recieved precursors when playing my Mesmer.

The only place and thus the weirdest place I have ever looted a precursor was in the land of make believe.

5,088 hours after starting my account, I got my first and only precursor drop to date, The Legend, from world rank 907. The other item inside was Malefacterym, the dagger that looks like it’s from the Realm of Torment.

It dropped in a dream I had. Does that count?

Can we have just one thread where people are not complaining about things, and actually following the topic? I find play time to be a way for people to justify their bad luck, instead it should be for showing how much you have put into the game because you love it!

I dropped Carcharias from a drake in queensdale while map completing.

Dusk from one of those pvp boxes, not sure if it was a champ box or just a regular one, i remember it was from CM reward track.
Leaf of Kudzu from either champ golem in CS or a random mob that happened to die from aoe while i was poking the golem

It seems Badazar not only saves the grawl but also the economy.

The Lover from the Troll in Queensdale, the Bard from the Ancient Oakheart in Queensdale, about 2 weeks apart.

Since I never have a precursor dropped to me through 5200 hrs of play-time, I really don’t have an answer for you XD.

I looted my precursor from the Black Lion trade merchant. It’s the weirdest place to ever gain a precursor!

Saw a noob TA Forward group asking ‘Plz help us!!!’ So I hopped on my Guardian. Ended up dropping The Legend in the Warden room. Made my day.

A friend of mine, back during the Weeniedale Champ farm, went to start the grubs while waiting for the Troll. The Vet event was up in the lake so he hopped in to kill it and dropped Hunter

WvW, there is one guy i think he is newly created toon, he was idling at far side of a supply camp, i found him and kill him… then zap drop

The Legend from an embroidered purse….. who would have thought something so large could be found in something so tiny?

First was a chaos gun like a week after hitting 80 on my first chat and playing with the toilet for the first time. Second was a colossus from a random wolf that joined in while dueling in ebg about a month ago.

No such thing as precursor drops, those can only be bought with gold and or credit cards.

Not me, but a mesmer in my level 7 fractal group got a Dusk off the ettin champ in the uncategorized fractal.

1-2 months ago, just when i started complaining that in 2+ years of (not always very) active playing i’ve never gotten anything, The Energizer dropped from a Veteran Dredge in Snowden drifts.

I was running around in WvW with a friend one day and he randomly kills a deer and gets a dawn.

2545 hours over the past 937 days, still nothing.

I have not had one drop. I have had one Forged, and it was before LA blew up.

. . . since then, there has been many more interesting exotics which make their way into my keeping. I am okay with this.

I looted the Colossus from the Frostreach Keep Champion in Eotm. That was a nice, unexpected surprise I’d say

End of LS Season 1, in a chest in scarletts secret cave, I found the legend. It is still in my bank. No time and not to be keen for arah.
