1. The simple but highly fun/ customisable skill system, or a different skill system with the same qualities.

2. The much superior party-driven content. GW2 also needs better/ more party support and party-interaction mechanics. Spamming healing AoEs around our allies (and having them miss if they move out of the way) is not exactly that fun, and outside of that, we can’t interact them outside of rezzing. GW2 group content doesn’t feels like I’m playing in a group, but more like 5 random players are playing parallel to each other in the same field.

3. Separate skills/ character building from gear-grinding. Don’t restrict builds to current gear. GW1 did that by having only cosmetic gear-grinding. I don’t mind mind a bit of gear-grinding, AS LONG AS I can customise its stats to fit my build any time I want, without that costing me time, gold or anything else.

4. The UI.

This is a topic I love.

I miss a lot from GW1:

~Ritualist+Dervish – These classes were just ultra cool/different.
~All of Nightfall/Elona – The story, lore, introduction of heroes…it was just awesome.
~DYE-ABLE WEAPONS
~All armor sets – Even the basic ones looked good.
~Pre-searing – Really cool introduction to GW1.
~Aspenwood/Jade Quarry – Had some really fun games here, PvP in general was nice.
~Underworld/Fissure of Woe – Nice high level content, pretty difficult.
~DoA – A way to earn some money/cool weapon skins, required coordination.
~Obsidian Armor – Really cool looking armor (in my opinion of course).
~Chaos Gloves – Glowy hands ftw!
~Updates – Every couple of months they would do major updates to skills/mechanics/professions, made things fresh and people would make new builds accordingly.
~The number of skills/elites that were available.
~Guild Halls
~HARD MODE – Double chest drops + better drops in general, yes please! Although this made some content almost impossible without cons/good players.
~Crystal Desert – Idk why, but I just liked it.
~Vanquishing – Destroying everything on the map = xD
~And of course Cantha!

All I wanted from GW2 was GW1 but with an Open World. I loved the diviersity of builds we had, capping elites, Missions for grouping, GvG and Guild Halls. There’s so much I’d bring over from GW that GW2 doesn’t have that it’s actually easier to say what not to bring: Henchies/Heroes.

While I am convinced that anything I put down here has about a 0.0000000001% chance of coming about, here it is.

GW1’s skill system would be amazing! Twin professions, skill hunting, ect. Yes, I know, I know. I too would not wish to be the unlucky sap that had to balance GW1 for it’s 8 year lifespan. However, as many have comented. It gave GW1 depth, and made it interesting.

Also, GW1’s separation of some PvE and PvP skills. This by far had to be the one thing that I gave endless Kudos to GW1 over other MMO’s. It irks me to no end when a skill that was useful in PvE is nerfed because in PvP it was to powerful.

2. Repeatable Personal Story.
3. Dungeons with their mechanic. I don’t understand why devs made such dungeons in gw2, with fat mobs. I hate fat mobs, it’s mmorpg stupid thing.

Actually many things from GW1 I would love to see in GW2.

I have no cons about GW2 dungeons, it’s ok the way they are for me, but, I agree that would be nice to have henchmen/heroes allowed for dungeons in GW2, but only for dgs, not to open world, world events.

I very much miss the build templates. Even in PvE I like to run different builds (multiple builds for dungeons alone depending on the team I run with) bot for fun and functionality. A simple feature that allowed me to save a load traits and skills would go a long way for me. I don’t care about the costs (make it an item I have to buy and consume) just don’t make me go all the way to LA, reset my traits, manually set all my traits and skills, then go back to the area to play the game. Takes me out of the game for nearly 30 minutes just to do everything.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

A few things:

1) Being able to wear costume items (town clothes) as armor, such as sunglasses > helm.
2) Guild Halls.
3) Saving builds.
4) More than two weapon swap tabs, even if only two are usable in combat.
5) Guild Wars 1 emotes and dances! I’d deffo buy the latter, if it came to that.

To those wanting henchmen/heroes for dungeons… fancy yourself handling Colossus or Dredge fractals as the only player with 4 heroes? I shudder at the thought. xD

One wish, would be for future campaigns in GW2 to become far more challenging and repeatable, the personal story was really a meek attempt – both lore-wise and as a challenge.

Idea for future campaigns/personal stories;

- repeatable
- normal mode/hard mode or call it story/explorable if you will (better rewards)
- achieving titles through completion of parts of campaign/entire story (e.g. I am Commander of the Pact, but why isn’t that a title?!? Heck I even killed Zhaitan and that log took all the credit for it… I got a commemorative weapon – which was nice – but no title)

- and of course, bring back Cantha! And just bring us word on what this expansion is all about too; I doubt you have the time this time around to tell everyone ‘when it’s ready’ and hold off with news and tidbits. If you want to retain a decent player base, give us some info asap.

The way professions worked and skills synergized. Not necessarily talking about having a Holy Trinity here but there were definitely some interesting things you could do in GW1 if you paid enough attention that would truly separate the bad from the good. There’s nothing like that in GW2. Everything feels like a cakewalk.

That’s because we have asked, begged, yelled, screamed, stamped until we are blue in the face, and still don’t have a basic feature that comes with even F2P games.

In conclusion, we have given up on a LFG tool because it’s never coming, like a lot of other things we have been waiting forever for.

The way the skills and classes/dual classing worked and trinity

This, although I don’t care one way or another about bringing back the trinity.

The dual class system, massive skill pools, build craft, and depth of possible strategy were what defined GW, and every single one of them is missing in GW2.

EDIT: Just felt the need to state that I am violently opposed to re-introducing henchmen and AI companions. They ruined many social aspects of GW, and enough of GW2 is solo-able as it is.
