What GW2 feels like.
My problem with GW2 is first of all the disappointment that it is by far not as good as the first GW and also totally different. GW hat a better story, better gameplay, better graphic, better armor etc etc etd
So all that was left for GW2 is to ‘swipe’ the names and music. The only reason to call it GW2 is to have instant salleability which is cheating the public right from the start.
Then they give us a reasonably good game for big bucks but already in char creating is the disappointment. The ‘GIANT’ Norse is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So one char is a giant and all others, humans as well, are mini midgets in comparison. I will not make this list too long.
I am playing it still awaiting another game that comes out in spring. But GW2 was a big disappointment. Not as bad as Diablo3, that one should have received first prize for worst game.
Amount of content =/= quality of game.
I have over 1000 hours in Dawn of War 2, and I would say 75% of that is playing 3v3 on Argus Desert Gate. The same game mode on the same map. And guess what? It’s incredibly fun.
Now, GW2 has tons more maps that that, more game modes, more options for class (vs. factions in an RTS) and just overall much more content. So why do I have less than 1000 hours in GW2? Because, despite all the content, I don’t find it fun.

No doubt that there is a quality issue with these living story updates. Although there are a couple little things that were really well done(SAB)
There is a quality issue with the whole game, I’m afraid…
But hey, apparently it sells with the masses, and as one poster above mentioned, the name it stole (yes, stole) from its predecessor also granted it instant salleability because of the fine reputation the latter made for itself.

The attention living story got, was actually something required for creating new maps (PvE/PvP/WvW), weapons, classes, races, skills and so much more.
Exactly.
Did you have a chance to play the large-scale open-world PvP? I think they just call it The Alliance Wars. I really enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim, but my major interest in ESO is for the PvP. WvW was the reason I left Rift (Conquest sucks so hard … worse even than WvW), but I’m still looking for a game with decent graphics that does RvRvR properly … ability to handle LOTS of players without glitches, intelligently crafted strategy-based warfare involving mass battles as well as sabotage and small squad skirmishes, lots of depth and breadth in the way points can be scored, instanced matches that can be run in parallel during peak hours, etc. I have no clue whether ESO will provide that or not, but I know that WvW certainly does not (which is a criminal shame since it could if the devs were so inclined). So I’d honestly appreciate your or anyone else’s impressions of ESO in that regard.
Unfortunately not. I’m not even sure why since it was available for access. As far as GW2 goes, I found WvW the best part. So bit of a facepalm on my part for not trying it out.
