What are your 3 biggest problems with GW2?
1 They are failing in satisfying both casual and pro/hardcore players in the attempt to satisfy one of the parts.
There is the need of hard mode for dungeons, to please hardcore players. If they keep doing the same as they did to AC they will just lose both kinds of players. Casual players do not run AC anymore because too hard/annoying, no longer a pleasant experience. Hardcore players lost already interest for it, being still too easy for them. Result, AC is ran almost only by those who need tokens, making the dungeon itself rather dead.
Saying dungeons have to be challenging is absolutely true, but when they are almost the only end game content offered, they have to be doable by everyone. This is why a hard mode is needed.
2 We all realize they need to be supported through gem store. The problem is: if they do not add more of the items that most of the players ask for, if they keep adding only these cutesy backpacks for example, despite too many people ask for serious stuff, they absolutely do not encourage all players to give their support. Only half of it. I believe they should take a bit more into account what are players’ desires, add very wanted items. Some ask for things that can not be made or that are too meaningless, others ask for very possible and meaningful items.
I am not a marketing expert or something, but if hundreds of people basically told me that they would pay good money to buy capes, style kits if more features are added, proper town clothing and so on and on, I would make sure these are implemented sooner than a new plushie backpack, that will please only the part of players who liked them and that is already satisfied to have bought the previous one and will likely not pay to get yet another. Only my thinking though.
3 Temporary content should be made permanent, not just dungeons but story too. No matter how they upscale players’ level to 80, few new players will pay attention to a secondary story, when their main story is not yet complete.
Besides, rather useless to raise players’ level for dungeons where only real 80s in max gear and high achievements points will be welcome in any team.
O°v°O
Only one. Too high a reliance on dodge/movement as the defensive mechanism, leading to too many avoid-or-die attacks and no point in trading offensive stats for defensive ones.
Bugs and Lags.
Out of 99% of my fails are caused by those.
My three ;
-Constant nerfing of everything ( damage , loot drops ,content . )
-Stories and characters that made GW1 memorable like repairing Gwen’s flute or bringing her flowers .
-
This, I’m playing thru GW1 again and the story and the way it’s presented is so much better.
And the 3rd is the skill system, I would like to pick and choose my skills for weapons.
Absolutely still love the game, but there are a couple of little things I would like to see addressed -
1. Lack of guild management tools, most specifically an in game event calendar.
2. The strength/viability of pure dps builds compared to support and control builds is too great. There is little reason to roll anything other than pure dps.
3. World encounters, especially large scale fights, should be tougher.
RNG
Ascended gear
Lack of permananet, challenging content.
1. has unfinished, rushed tone in many areas.
2. tampering with races like sylvari female and giving players no choice.
• Updates with stup.id and retaard living events with 1 month of duration, while We want more of everything(dungeons, wvw, type of weapons, skills, professions and more)
• Massive farm of PvE where guy get 1kkkkk gold and WvW is getting green item from chests.
• Traits need to change more the skills, 1 of 30 traits make a REAL difference and don’t add only some stu.pid status.
1. Constant temporary content. Any LS dungeons should be permanent.
2. RNG for everything. I’m one of those that gets screwed by RNG, however they do it.
3. Temp content?
I agree that temp content sucks. It’s one thing for a holiday event to come and go; at least it will come back next year. But southsun and flame/frost felt hollow and meaningless.
• Massive farm of PvE where guy get 1kkkkk gold and WvW is getting green item from chests.
this is very big. how on earth wvw content developers think it’s appropriate for pvers to come in after farming their gear and gold in pve, and rule it over wvw players who get nothing by comparison playing wvw, is bad. i can’t believe it when i think about it.
- Uninspired PvE/Open World Content/Dungeons. The PvE content in this game feels lackluster to me personally. I realize a lot of people enjoy it, but I prefer strategy and challenge in my PvE gameplay, it should not just be a DPS bash your face into the keyboard for everything style of play. Temporary events are not passable content for a large portion of players. There needs to be meaningful permanent updates to foster a community.
- Focus on sPvP. Really? Still? It’s not even remotely popular enough to justify the amount of development that goes into it.
-Loot loot loot. The loot system, RNG drop rates, and methods of obtaining unique skins in this game make me physically cringe that they think it’s even remotely a passable system. Play WvW, get lucky if you break even on gold. PvE all the time and you’ll be filthy stinking rich. Why is the most enjoyable part of your game the least rewarding? This kind of stuff should be looked at.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.

And not only that, but the efforts of wvw players actually give pve players a pve buff to increase their reward while the pve player gives no buff to wvw players…making it even more obnoxious anti-pvp design.
1. RNG I want to get my legendary done and finish the game. How I deem it done in my eyes: all 7-8 original dungeons complete, personal story, 100% map and a legendary, and all orders, and some pvp. The legendary is the problem from me quitting the game.
2. Bugs and constant patching to fix them. Up your quality in programming! What happened to GW 1 quality?
3. Poor optimization for lower end computers. I can run lots of other mmos better than this one with this piece of kitten laptop. Culling and lag and my character not loading at all until 10-30 minutes later in lions arch is not fun.
Lack of meaningful rewards from content. This includes monthly events that have no real rewards besides achievement points, RNG weapon skins, armor skins, and temporary content. In this, I’m also including the the fun content, the truly fun stuff, always seems to be temporary, but the boring, same old garbage is what stays.
Lack of trait builds. Yes, I want to be able to change my build on the go, just like Guild Wars 1. I want to be able to save my builds, and load them up, without having to pay 3s and remember what the heck I was using before. When I go to SPvP, I get a whole new trait build, why doesn’t this happen when I go to WvW?
Lack of money gaining opportunities. Some of us don’t like having to run dungeons that are, well, boring, 24/7 to get money. I’m learning how to flip the TP, which seems to be the only two ways to gain money anymore, since ANet is still so adamant about people farming spots. Oh, you can get money from RNG drops, but it’s not likely to happen.

you realize you are making a pro-RNG post in support of the developers? by saying rng is the one thing keeping you from quitting you are basically saying it’s a good system. i’m laughing my kitten off right now if you intended otherwise. it’s like saying, “the one thing sweet shops do that keeps me from never buying another sweet is to put sugar in the sweets.” yeah, i’m sure they are going to help you with your ‘problem’ and lose money…lmao

They have a flame sword of chaos with laser from hell really cool and I have my shaped sword from the forge.
No item hunt, even GW1 had more of this than gw2. And in gw1 it was limited compared to other games.
Many great maps full of nothing, and it almost make me wonder why this is the case. Because I love going through the game and see it all. Just not enough to do I guess.
Culling, in busy fights I cannot even see the champion/boss so I have no idea what to do and just spam skills. And normally this work just fine :/
My top 3 issues with this lovely game
1. RNG, especially on temporary contents.
2. Temporary contents, especially ones with wonderful experiences and rewards that makes the ppl who would like them but happen to miss out (due to real life stuff or such) just wanna ragequit :P
3. primacy of berzerker gear/builds. seriously, im kinda bored at the whole dps dps dps and l2dodge thing. need to change this somehow. i dont fault the players fully, because… well its a reaction to the existing contents
1- RNG heavy for anything remotely beautiful.
2- to many account bound rewards, alt toons rewards hatred !
3- no hardcore endgame only content !
4- GRIND heavy !
I really do miss the trinity, or at least having a healer. I would love to heal dungeons in this game. I wish the support “role” of classes got buffed a bit, especially the healing. Despite this, I still like GW2 for what it is. I will be honest though, I don’t know if this game could ever hold my attention for years like WoW did.
The fight mechanics aren’t too interesting. Pretty much just DPS the hell out of stuff and dodge. Dodge, dodge, dodge — it get’s kinda old tbh. I like having to be aware, but having to dodge or otherwise evade attacks that drain you from 100% to 0% in what seems to be less than a second feels kinda overdone and bland. Mobs in instances just run around like crazy while people roll around, often frantically waiting for that self-heal to come off CD.
There is not a trade window, actually there seems to be no need to really socially interact with the people in the game world beyond goofing around in map chat which is fine. I love the GW2 community, especially my friends on Tarnished Coast, but there seems to be a social disconnect in this game and I can’t put my finger on it. Professions are uninspired and feel useless, which stinks because they could have been a means by which people interacted.
1- RNG without streak-breaker coding.
2- PVE & PVP separation of skills/traits/utilities etc. Possibly even WvW separation so that balancing one area of the game doesn’t break the others.
3- Customization of armor/weapons – this is a game built on the premise that we don’t grind for stats but for aesthetics. Yet we are not given a very large pool to chose from. I know that armor and weapons are pretty much set as it is.
I believe the design of armor to have so few color customization options in color slots (aside from some pieces) was short-sighted. I think the ability of players to be able to dye their weapons in a similar fashion to armor was completely overlooked as a viable option. Anet could have benefited more so by adding particle effects upgrades that players could buy/craft and attach to a weapon. And the lack of adding regional or boss specific armors/weapons available as rare loot drops from DE’s scattered throughout Tyria was a majorly lost opportunity. – Treasure hunters would scramble for them if done properly.
4- A lot of temporary content that could have been left in with modifications to rewards, so that new players or those with RL commitments won’t completely miss out.
Devs: Trait Challenge Issued
1.DR, i would prefer a hard cap because it will allow me to do something else worth the reward + time effort
2.250 stacks of everything!lower it to 50 or 100 to make it less grindy and make me enjoy the game moar than farming or grinding
3. Antisocial kittens that seems to be much more abundant than any other MMOs i’ve ever played
4. lack of “thin strap of cloth” armor skins!
1. RNG I want to get my legendary done and finish the game. How I deem it done in my eyes: all 7-8 original dungeons complete, personal story, 100% map and a legendary, and all orders, and some pvp. The legendary is the problem from me quitting the game.

My money comes from TP use and trading and farming expensive plantsand finding opportunities where others don’t see them. But without a precursor or extreme hard to get one via forge, that’s where I start to gripe. I sell nearly everything I get. I don’t wait for a big score. Playing fate with RNG will burn you that way. And I learned that the hard way fast lost a lot of money this event.
Maybe I worded my response poorly as I meant the game will be complete in a sense to me (you can never truly beat a mmo ever) imo, is to have all dungeons 100%, and map 100%, and all the things filled in on the login screen (even though I only pvp/wvw enough to get the pvp thing colored in partially). I just need a legendary to say I’m done with the game until next expansion.
(edited by Yumiko Ishida.3769)
1. Extremely biased stats system and combat mechanics that encourages glass cannon builds.
2. Too much temporary content lately
3. Too much RNG in acquiring skins via a lottery system in the store
Reward for Performance
| 80 (Mesmer) Brook Envision | 80 (Thief) Kuro Rin |
1. The mini games like brawling or shooting gallery, the ones that NPCs talk about, are not available. Heck I’d even settle for a Sylvari dueling arena like that one couple talked about in the Grove!
2. There’s no real reason to play in the “middle” areas anymore after hearts and Personal story. Give us a big event like the Sky Pirates near Mount Maelstrom, or have a huge storyline event in the Centaur territories. Just randomly placing holograms or gift boxes on the map isn’t the same.
3. Stop using Lion’s Arch as the meeting area for all these events. One thing Flame and Frost did right was use Black Citadel and Hoelbrak for something! Have a Asura themed story and the place to be is in Rata Sum, heck ANet you did that for SAB!
I hardly go to the Grove or Divinity’s Reach that much anymore.
1. DR
2. RNG
3. Having a 2 foot high wall result in “Obstructed” when firing at attackers who aren’t even close to said wall.*
*3 is just one of many that could take that position, but it’s on my mind right now. The same goes for being on the ground and not hitting wall targets when you can see their knees.
1. RNG Reward system, I wont bother buying anything RNG related in gemstore, reward system is really bad ingame.
2. Culling pve & pvp….I wouldn’t call WvW culling a fix, it’s still broken.
3. WvW- this needs a HUGE revamp, it’s broken content. Culling (or the fact the game can’t run what Anet has intended for it), rewards, and somehow make it so it’s not blob zerg’n (close proximity debuff, anything except stacking, stack/zerg’n makes horrible gameplay).
All of my complaints about GW2 revolve around it needing more (permanent) content in a variety of areas:
1. More skins for weapons and armor
2. More weapon types and skills available for each class
3. More awesome and unique zones and dungeons (shameless plug for Crystal Desert and Maguuma Wastes!)
#1: PVE enemy culling
#2: Condition Cap
#3: RNG nature of events.
1: pve:
a) people dont res you anymore failed res in game. if there’s pplz around yea great do they really want to res take their time to go over there and res you up?, ( no) in jump puzzles hard, thinking about getting resed not likely.
b) dungeons: since anet changed it over and over numberous times, how many pplz from begninig of gw2 to now. begnining of gw2 pplz acutally resed. acutally were Lfg for dungoens. NOw? no one reses, no lfg dungoens etc.
c: gameplay: of the entire game its a solo game. but if u want the cool stuff in game you need either (pay to win) or spam your heart out to the point you dont feel like playing anymore cuz you cant* find a group, to get the stuff you want in game.
-Dailies- are fine.
Guilds: yea there’s alot of guild out there, but are they really going to help you out (if their in your guild yes., if not no)
pvp: unbalnced still needs improvement. balance system broken still. no one wants to be on the losing team if u cant get much loot or exp from it than the winning side.
Wvw: soloer, likes to gather and do the map expoloation is fine.
but most of the wvw is involing with a guild not much as in finding a group to help expore in wvw maps. its about guilds. most guild swill not res you if their going on their big raids they dont want to stop and res someone who’s even on their sever. cuz ur not in their* guild.
trading market system: too pricey still. even if u farm the mats u needs its not a 70%-85% u’ll get the loot u want. so instead u have to buy off of the market.
like i said in the top; (pay to win)
Big towns (like Lion arch): too laggy with the afkers, and the pplz who just stand around and talk. i would like not to watch my loading screen take for ever to get into LA.

1. Looking for group system
2. Looking for group system
3. Looking for group system
No longevity
Balance issues across all aspects of the game
Very little Rewards marred by everything RNG based
1. Poor skin changing system.
2. Lack of a quick switchable second trait build.
3. Still not enough inventory and bank space.
What’s missing? What are the biggest problems? – two slightly different questions.
What’s missing:
- PvE balance
- Character development integrated into the end-game
(aside from skills and trait points, all that development during leveling – story, crafting, etc. – becomes irrelevant once in the end-game) - Legendaries that reflect in-game achievement
Biggest problems:
- PvE balance
- Legendaries aren’t (they’re grind/RNG/TP trading)
- Dominance of gold farming in the end game
1. No group play.
2. No class synergies.
3. Cash shop.
Bonus: Sucks.
1. Skills are too limited and the ones we do have are boring.
2. Temporary content with storylines that are less than intriguing.
3. Boring, tedious achievements with rewards that are not that great.
I also want to add that dungeons continue to be a divisive issue that GW2 hasn’t figured out how to handle. Still don’t understand why we can’t have regular mode and hard mode especially with the story dungeons.
(edited by Rosen Myst.7641)
1. Skills are too limited and the ones we do have are boring.
Sounds like you haven’t tried mastering an Engineer!
1.) New WvW Dev Team
2.) Temporary Kitten Content
3.) RNG
Tarnished Coast Server
No .. unfortunately I love playing a ranger in most games. Need I say more?
1. Lack of rewards for time spent.
2. Living story disposable rubbish that no one really cares about.
3. Lack of useful skills/traits (traits lol) (especially Elite) as it is the game has 80% pathetic skills. I want to choose from useful skills not pick the best of a bad/boring bunch from garbage.
4. Balance team of chimpanzees
All of the above are overshadowed by a venomous hatred of RNG. I can’t put my hatred of rng into a number but I’ll try…“NNnnnnng!” gasp, wheeze “5!” Yay, I done it!
(edited by Paul.4081)
- Only CoF and maybe CoE is worth doing for money, they really need to give us a certain amount of gold at the end of a dungeon, depending on how long/difficult it is.
- They need to stop with all this RNG bullkitten, and increase drop rate for precursors so that players who farm alot dont feel bumed out over a guy who plays for 1 hours and get a precursor and earns more than you can in several weeks.
- We need more types of pvp matches, not only capture the objective, its getting pretty stale.
I got some more things but these are the 3 biggest things I really hate.
1-No guild wars in GW2.
2-RNG in everything even skills.
3-Skills/build diversity.
Why only 3 I have more than 30.
1. A lot of temporary content and almost no permanent content is being added.
2. No end game
3. Too easy, no hard mode or challenging fights except AR which is easy now.
4. Too many restrictions about what we can or cannot bring on our bar
5. The fact that I keep hoping this game will be changed but always let down in the end.
6. The messages “We will release a patch in 1 – 2 hours” and it gets released 5 minutes later.
7. Connection errors in the game.
8. That despite the fact the game has so many errors, I can not seem to walk away from it yet and keep saying “Maybe this will be the month Anet changes things”.
My three ;
-Constant nerfing of everything ( damage , loot drops ,content .
I tried playing through again… I Just can’t go back to those bad graphics after having the stunningly magnificent graphics of gw2 + I keep trying to jump/ dodge roll which cannot happen.
Lack of SAB and 8-bit music.
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
Pve culling x3
I’m very pleased with everything else
3 this
and maybe more farm places. I mean REAL ones.
Thief/Necro/Guardian/Mesmer/Elementalist of SFR EU
1) PvE: is not challenging and the few dungeon’s paths which are challenging do not reward enough
2) Living World: there should be more people in the world for reaching the real feeling of a living world, maybe with 2 or 3 less servers people would be less spreaded. And also more reasons to go all around the world (add different dailies for random players in random zones?)
3) SPvP: a wow like arena sistem, engaging and competitive (and amazing skins and titles as rewards)
1). Lack of LFG tool.
2). Embarrassing dungeon “mechanics”.
