What environments would you like to see?
As an asura, I do this all the time.”
Finally someone with an eye for ambience.
I really want to see areas in GW2 with the ambience that maps in GW1 had.
To name a few:
-Echovald Forest
-Jade Sea
-Desolation
-Crystal Desert
-Vabbi
-Fire Islands
I honestly did not care for any of the areas that had fire themes to them. My favorite were the snow areas, followed by the human starting zones.
I would not mind seeing an area designed around crystals or air!
Oh scratch the Fire Islands. A northern map in Ascalon, around lvl 70, has that firey theme already.
what I want to see more of is the night time. I don’t just mean darker or w/e. I mean can-barely-see-the-book-on-your-back dark. Like in the woods after killing the blizzard in the snow fractal or that room in EBG JP. Maybe have there be day/night cycles everywhere – a night life, if you will.
My original thought was to have a WvW where it’s dark everywhere, perhaps due to the dragon’s corruption? :P

I actually want to see giant floating globs of water. And you can jump into them and swim through them. I have a basic idea of how water areas are added to games, and I don’t think it’s possible.
Jade Sea and Echovald forest. Imagine how cool a half-melted Jade Sea would look like. With pitfalls, intricate underwater mazes, mining operations, luxon, weird sea monsters, and bandits or whoever! >:D
I’d really like to see a full on jungle setting. If not for the visuals, then for the possibility of getting a “vine swinging” achievement.
Also, the “crystal desert”. It would be cool to have a JP, that requires you to get to an oasis before you die from dehydration.
the crystal desert and the jade sea
Kaineng City. I loved the idea of a huge, world sprawling city with lots of diversity. It reminds me of the Ravnica set of Magic the Gathering. So wide and inspiring, and really just a reflection of the people and guild types that inhabit it.

More magitek and charr environments
The Crystal Desert. Would love to see sandstorms that appear over time and disappear. With sand dunes and maybe see the sand kick up a little when you walk over it. That would be amazing!!!
More Cantha City and more Black Citadel environments.
I love the dusty cities.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
Too bad the Charr are at peace with humans, we’ll never see them take over Kaineg City and plate everything in steel. Other than that, I loved the blizzards and dustorms(fractal and diessa platue), and would love to see more of these weather affects(rain and fog yes please!)
And an actual swamp that you need to wade knee deep into, not a two inch kiddie pool of a swamp in the fractals.
Too bad the Charr are at peace with humans, we’ll never see them take over Kaineg City and plate everything in steel.
Kryta != Cantha.
Charr are only in peace with Kryta. Charr do fight the Separatist which are humans.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
…Holy crap we may learn what heaven looks like if the charr invade that place.

Yeah, that’s an unfortunate charracteristic of the charr.
Hey, if the charr never attacked to begin with, Orr would still look…amazing and not like crap…
Anyone else want to see what Orr looks like restored?

Apparently it looked like heaven
Cantha. All of it.
Elona. All of it.
Liberated Ascalon making a new capital city over a period of time rebuilding it, for all races.
A cleaned up and rebuilt Orr one day.

Interact-able environments where i can have something fun to do other then fight:
— fishing lakes (without constant mob interruption).
—farm fields where i could plant and harvest. (new matts introduced for new items).
—customizable player housing
—customizable guild halls
—many new mini games other then jumping puzzles.
Please all non-instanced, its a huge beautiful world let us have more things to do in it.
I love places like Iron Marches, Fire Heart Rise, Dredgehaunt cliffs, MT Maelstrom
My personal all time favorite is Godlost swamp in Queensdale.
I would also really like to see a real desert area and an actual jungle that is not glowy like the Sylvari lands. ( yay for vine swinging achievement )

My happy places I would love to see more of:
The Underworld
The Fissure of Woe
The Desolation
Ring of Fire
Realm of Torment
More of the Mad Realm.
I loved Vabbi/Elona in GW1, and all of the snow areas. I love Frostgorge here, and the transition mountain zones like the south end of Lormars and North end of Timberline falls. The streams in timberline are done so well, like the gravelly bed streams I remember growing up in Colorado.
A cute environment with flowers, rainbows, unicorns, big presents etc. Lots of happy things.
I would love to see more caves where it is pitch black, and that you need a torch to explore your way in and out That gives me the real feeling of exploring.
For the rest, the environments are amazing already, dunno what to add.
Dense forests (like snow fractal), swamps (like swamp fractal), large underground areas (like grawl fractal and dredge fractal).

YES! Or somehow get a “spell” cast upon you so you can see, but still wield your weapons.
Oooh, a floating/flying island like place would be awesome. Like something from Skies of Arcadia.
As an asura, I do this all the time.”
Orr before it was broken.
An instance where you could go back to Pre-searing Ascalon, and then maybe one DURING the searing, that would be awesome.
And a way to get to the floating castle/keep in Wizard’s Feif.

YES YES YES.
The deepest parts of maguuma jungle where the trees are so big and nearby eachother that it would be imposible to orientate properly
Kaineng-esque city. Huge sprawling city with a life of its own. That place felt different from just about any other RPG setting I’ve been in. Maybe because RPGs generally occur out in the hills, rather than in a gritty-yet-fantasy city. Although they’d have to do some serious work to make all of the races fit and function within the city. Melting pot?
Also, I really like the Jade Sea and Rata Sum fractals. The feeling of being suspended in air, leaping from one floating island to the next while still fighting, is quite fun. I’d like to see a zone consisting of multiple floating isles, with strings of platforms between them, and really taking advantage of height, like a lot of the level designs do.
Finally, I wouldn’t mind some weather. Rain and snow. Probably shouldn’t be a global thing, but I think it could enhance a few zones. Snow worked out really nice visually in the Ice Elemental Fractal.

More rain would be welcome everywhere! lol

Gosh, could you imagine nearly an entire zone that was like the end of the Dreadmark Enclave/Dark Reverie jumping puzzle in Caledon Forest? An entire zone completely 3D with multiple layers upon layers of branches spreading out amongst each other. Looking up and down and around for new ways through, and completing hearts and dynamic events through the canopy! Such wonderful exploration to be had!
This’d be either Megumma or Echovald Forest. Hopefully the latter as we’ve already seen a lot of stone ruins amongst trees with the Asuran ruins.
customization guild halls, that is all I can’t wait for this hopefully they are flying castles that could float next to each-other and you could do GvG battles in the fortresses. There would be a warning in advance like “guild hall will be within range of ______ guild hall in 47 hours” that would be epic! and then you would get rewards to customize your place with more
