What if Legendary weapons had crazy powers like other games?

This is all in fun. I am not seriously suggesting that any of these powers be given to the weapons. Some of them would be just silly, others way over powers. Here where my thoughts.

The Bifrost – Randomly redyes targets armor. Has a chance on crit to blind foes and spread one condition to all nearby foes. 1% chance on crit to wrap target up in a rainbow and move them to a random map.

Bolt – Grants user a 15% movement Speed increase and a 10% attack speed bonus

The Dreamer – Critical attacks have a chance to put foes to sleep, making all skills go on cool down.

The Flameseeker Prophecies – 25% to block all incoming damage, on down state user explodes like a phoenix rallying and setting all foes on fire.

Frenzy – Reduces the cool down of all Skills by 30%

Frostfang – All skills deal 15-20% more damage as ice, chance to deep freeze targets on crit

Howler – Causes targets eardrum’s to burst inflicting bleeding on all foes in the area every time a skill is activated.

Incinerator – All skills deal 15–25% more damage as fire, chance to set foes on fire on crit.

The Juggernaut – Quicksilver coating increases armor, also allows user to randomly blur into the background (aka stealth)

Kudzu – Entangles foes on critical hits. User sinks into the earth and gains regeneration on down state (only activates ever 45 seconds)

Kraitkin – Small fish attracted by weapon will impose themselves between attacks directed at user. On down state to hides user as one of the small fish (can only activate every 45 seconds)

Kamohoali’i Kotaki – Summons a giant shark on crit that drags target down to into the depths of the ocean, inflicts bleeding, torment and confusion.

Meteorlogicus – Critical hits cause randomly crowd control effects. 1% chance on Critical hit of tossing target into outer space where they are instantly killed in the vacuum of space.

The Minstrel – Critical hits have a chance to cause foes to break out into dance. User sprouts wings and floats towards heaven on down state gaining regeneration (only usable every 45 seconds)

The Moot – Critical hits cause foes to be blinded. Those blinded by Moot have a chance to be dazzled for 40 seconds.

The Predator – Critical Hit Damage Increased by 25.0% more damage, Critical hits have a 1% chance of head shot that results in instant death, target hears the words “You lose it here, you’re in a world of hurt.” Randomly it plays “Get to da’ chaaaaaappaaaaaahhhhh!” instead

Quip – Critical hits cover target with streamers and confetti, making them more take more damage from burning. Critical hits have a 1% chance to instantly kill target. Target is shown to fall backwards and daisy flowers push up from its grave.

Rodgort – All skills deal 15–25% more damage as fire, User becomes immune to all fire damage. Foes killed no longer have a down state, instead they become a bonfire.

Sunrise – All skills inflict deal 15–25% more damage as holy, undead are instantly destoryed

Twilight – All skills inflict 15-25% more damage as darkness, critical hits drain health from the target and give it to the user.

Eternity – All skills inflict 15-25% more damage as darkness or holy, Makes the user instantly rally on downstate, (can only activate once every 45 seconds)

Anybody else have any crazy ideas for powers?

2. Sunrise: User can fly during in game daytime.
3. Twilight: User can go invisible and enter a shadow realm, and walk among the other players unknown. (Rip off of using Sauron’s ring)
4. The Dreamer: User can turn into a unicorn and run very fast, and jump large distances.
5. Incinerator: User can use them to make campfire and cook other players eggs and potatoes, increasing players ‘Happiness’ for 5 minutes.
6. Kamohoali’i Kotaki: User’s toon can new emote: “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.”
7. Flameseeker Prophecies: User can throw their shield like Captain America, AOE knockback.
8. Kudzu: User can enchant aggro NPCs and turn them into loyal followers, who constantly remind player how beautiful they are.
9. Eternity: Player turns into a dragon that can bother fly and go invisible, and also offer these abilities to other players.
10. Meteorlogicus: Player is under house arrest, and now longer allowed to pursue scientific endeavors.
11. The Moot: Player has an endless supply of white powder, that gives other players The Moot’s effects.
12. The Predator: User can smear mud on their body, and camouflage.
13. Quip: User gets a Green Gonzo Flying Saucer that leaves silly string and confetti over all it passes.

Why not just delete Guild Wars 2 instead?

It is much more faster to do so than implementing this nonsense.

What part of ‘This is all in fun. I am not seriously suggesting that any of these powers be given to the weapons.’ did you not understand from the OP?

Back on topic…
Only one I could think of is this.

Eternity: Once per day, a player wielding Eternity can take the place of the Risen High Wizard that comes out of the Gates of Arah during the group event ‘Defeat the Risen High Wizard and secure the Promenade of the Gods’ in cursed Shore.
During the duration of this event, the player will have Legendary boss hit points and effects, including the Unshakable and Defiance.

good intent…but bad/overpowered ideas. no need to make legendary weapons a higher level of power than normal ascended.

i do like the idea that doing attacks with a legendary would also inflict “visual effects” onto the mob/player you are attacking.

examples
Bifrost (elementalist)
- Water attunement, Freezes 3-4 enemies at a target area instantly
-fire attunement, Summon a meteor to strike the target area
-Earth attunement, Shake the ground of your sorrounding knocking down any enemies

Twilight
warr-Spin the sword slashing any enemies at sorrounding you at 300 range
-channel the sword’s energies and open a space rift sucking any enemies near

The predator
warriors
-Fires a high energy shot doing critical damage and burns your foes

Twilight: Changes the time of day in your current area to night.

Sunrise: Changes the time of day in your current area to day.

If both are in the same area at the same time, the sun and moon start smashing into each other in the sky, until one of them kills the other. Winner makes that time of day stick for the next 24 in-game hours. Loser crashes into the ground in the middle of the map and drops shards everywhere that can be picked up by players. If you get 1,000 of these shards, you can use it to substitute a gift in the recipe for Twilight or Sunrise.

Eternity: Animation goes in slow-motion (e.g. takes an Eternity to hit stuff).

The Dreamer: 1 min CD, can spawn a traveling group of Ascalonian Ghost Minstrels.

The Bifrost: 1 min CD, create an ice sculpture of a posing Quaggan. Then pick it up and hurl it at your enemies.

Bolt: Character says “Lightning bolt!” every time you attack with it.

Incinerator: Sets random things on fire when you swing it at them. Small chance of yourself getting set on fire and exploding.

The Juggernaut: Every time you hit an enemy, you get a stack of Juggernaut’s Rage. At 25 stacks, you summon a Champion Risen Abomination. You can’t control and it’s unfriendly to everyone. It also doesn’t drop anything if you kill it. Oops.

Howler: 1 min CD, summon a pack of wolves to aid you. Press the ability again to turn the wolves against you, so that you can slaughter them. If you do, you get a buff called Head of the Pack, which transforms you into a wolf for 5 minutes and gives the ability “I’m the Alpha.” 10 second CD, summons a team of wolves to assist you. You can’t attack tho. Alphas get the peons to do it, yo.

The Moot: Every time you hit a mob with it, you die. It’s a moot point, you’re going to die anyway.

Quip: Makes random wisecracks at 30 second intervals when it is equipped.

Meteorlogicus: Makes it rain thunder and lightning in whatever area you’re in. If Sunrise and Twilight are fighting, it breaks them up and gives them a time out, at which point you get a buff called “Exhausted Parent” that lasts for 5 minutes – allows you to take a nap while still using your abilities.

Or words to that effect.

Some ppl are not like others, don’t have the time to farm/play TP to be able to buy a legendary/precursor + mats and are not lucky enough to drop a precursor. So the first sentence of my previous post still stays.

Also, this game is not about gear, it’s more about cosmetics (yes, Ascended equipment kinda broke this rule, but not as much as in other games).

So if you want it this way, you are unfortunately playing a wrong game m8. This was stated by the devs even before the game was released, so just like that…..

Anybody else have any crazy ideas for powers?

Game is supposed to be skill based not giving advantage to players that use legendary against exotics or ascended.

If u wanna purpose such idea the bonus must be really minor but still interesting for make legendary different of others weapons.

Like frostfang, 5% chance to deal chill for 3sec (15 sec icd), dmg +1% against chilled target.

Incinerator 5% to cause burn for 1 sec (15 sec icd), dmg +1% against burned target.

Such thing could be introduced in game but ur current mind thats sure wont ever happen ^^

Edit : frostfang 50% chance to call a claw of jormag for atack ur target.
Incinerator 50% chance to call a fractal shamman for dmg ur foe.

Others weapons i dont mind ^^

I just ask you for one thing, please don’t call that game “Diablo”, because apart of the name it was given and the “world” it is using, it has nothing in common with the original Diablo I + II games, which were actually good. Thank you.

While I understand this thread is intended for fun (and some of the suggestions have made me chuckle) I have to admit if they did add any such thing to legendaries, it would seriously kitten me off. It would further add to that feeling of gear grind that ascended started for a lot of people, in a game where we were supposed to have readily accessible BiS gear at 80 and things like legendaries were supposed to be cosmetic grinds. It would be detrimental.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Nah.
100% chance on hit to grant Fury to surrounding allies. The faster the fight ends, the sooner that stupid horse gets out of their ears.
75% chance on hit to put the user to sleep for five seconds. Surrounding allies breathe a sigh of relief, removing a condition and gaining swiftness (so they can get away from the wielder faster).

Bolt and Quip with a Dragon /rank finisher:

Summons: Blue Eyes Ultimate Toon Dragon. A three headed player controlled mount that can fly. Once per summon it randomly secretes a precursor in flight (cannot fly in cities) which is acquired by an enemy in the map. The acquisition allows the enemy to evolve into its Ultimate form (a rank higher than Champion) and can be attacked by players to receive the precursor.

Precursor allocation is based off the least amount of damage contribution over time in the event, however, not using a skill at any time invalidates your chance.

I want to thank everyone for not taking this to seriously. I love the ideas. Quite a few of them have gotten a chuckle out of me.

i thought
A) Bifrost would randomly teleport either the user or the target,
B) Twilight would make the user sparkle in the sunlight
C) Quip would tell bad jokes like Mad King Thorn
D) The Moot would have the same effect as consuming too much alcohol
E) The Predator would change game music to the famous 2 note Jaws theme
F) Bolt would transform the user into a deceived canine who believes he has super powers
G) Rodgort would make the user’s hair blue
H) Eternity would transform the user into a pink marching band bunny

yeah i know, you rolled your eyes patiently tolerating all the bad jokes because you expect me to hand out bacon after the show…
