Just out of curiosity, what is everyone in game age? I feel like I am a casual gamer but some how racked up 900 hours in 8 months xD

Across all characters, you have played for 3,256 hours 58 minutes over the past 9 months.
I play only 1 character.

Only about 800 hours. :/ Dunno on my other account, not nearly as much though.

Just thinking about it – anything more than around 800 hours in 9 months is around 3 hours a day, every single day.

I don’t understand how people can have more than 1000 hours. Maybe I’m just too casual.

2.3k and at least 60% of it was standing in LA afk.

374 hours almost evenly distributed across all my characters (alt in each profession). I like change.

743hrs 28 mins in total.

1400+ hours here, or check my raptr for specific.

3,907 Hours. So far I win!!! Ofc, many many of these were semi afk or sitting in LA browsing forums waiting for G/C or friends to PM for runs etc but none the less.

Does the game count time on the character select screen?

Eh, well either way, I’ve passed out while in game too :P 2,253. A lot of the time I just leave the game open for hours without playing, just to check in on my bids.

Yes, I work taking care of a disabled person 24/7 pretty much, so we’re more or less home bound. Thanks for taking an interest.

It gives me plenty of time to play (particularly because we’re often up late nights, and because distraction is a much better way to deal with chronic pain than medicine).

Over 3000 hours last time i was in, doesn’t really mean much to me..

last time I checked I was at 1333++ hours across my 9 characters….

You guys know there are such things as rich people, who dont have to work, who will have more money than you “40 hours” people will ever have. Ofc im not one of them but they do exist. There are also retired people etc. There is many many other loopholes or ways to play with or without having a job. Also if you say “get a gf” thre are people who get out of a 4 year relationship, who want to take personal time off so they arent looking to date at the moment. There are lots of people who actually have mental issues, and are able to play 48+ hours at a time without getting bored or needing sleep, are those people somehow inferior? I dont think so, in fact ive had many friends as such. The list can go on..

I’m married. My wife is my best friend. She plays too.

Unfortunately, most of my real life friends (not all) are 10,000 miles away in NYC where I lived most of my life. But I still do have friends. Some of them even play Guild Wars 2. lol

In response to the whole disability discussion, there are various levels of disability and it seems fairly common to me- my old flatmate had one leg.
So far I have yet to meet a “normal” person- if I did, I think I wouldn’t make any sudden moves.
Reminds me of the character in Terry Pratchett that had a letter to say he was sane

635 hours over the past 6 months (203 days). 2 Characters, one 561 hours (Level 80 Mesmer), one 74 hours (Level 52 Thief).

What can I say, not much on TV. Note not all of it actively playing. Right now for instance I’m waiting for orders to fill.

Across both my L80’s I’m at 2757hrs, with 2600 being invested in the Ele main.

2,346 hours 9 minutes but have 8 level 80’s to show for it!

974 hours in 4 months and my wife thinks I have a problem.

My main char 601 hours and overall 1,444 hours.

1k hours in under 4 months :O so dw vayne i can see how you rack up that time xD oh and for the record those people saying get a life, ive got a full time job aswell :P

1704 hours 58 min over the past 6 months…. and 5 level 80’s, three other toons in the 35-45 range, but I’m just a casual player IMHO.

900 hours I achieved the majority of those in the first 5 months GW2 was out, since I had just graduated from college and was taking a bit of a break before hitting the job market. Now I’m all employed like so I’ve only added like 200 hours in the 5 months following that lol

Got level 80 first week, got ascended gear second week after the release, and 100% world this year playing 5 days (except for WvW), yeah, end everything else except for legendary.
Out of 9 last months I’ve played this game maybe only 3 months actively.
So yeah, I have no ____ idea what you people are doing in game. I can hardly find a reason to log in.

I always enjoy reading the excuses people use to justify sitting in front of a computer playing a game ten hours a day, everyday. If I was retired I would have many hobbies. If I was rich, I certainly wouldn’t spend all my time on a game. If I worked from home I would actually focus on my job. I don’t know just seems way unhealthy to have any good reason. I personally felt like I had to many hours logged with 450. Well don’t want to be super negative because that’s not good either. So to each their own. It’s not my life so as long as you are enjoying yourself more power to you friends. Just don’t be afraid to expand your horizons.

Would you mind quote your ingame /age just for fun?

Ah now I get it – so people with hundreds/thousands of hours have a lot of time spent either afk, waiting for other people or chatting ingame.

I tend to play solo or loosely grouped most of the time, so my time ingame is nearly always spent actively doing something.

Edit: So it’s quite a lot to do with usage patterns – leaving your machine on and leaving the game open in the background or something.

Or maybe people with hundreds/thousands of hours spend their in game time “actively doing something” and almost never hanging around chatting or afk. Or maybe they do a combo. Does it matter?
