I like to gather when I’m on the run, something that’s left over from my days in SWG where the player driven economy made it really important.

I also love Underwater Combat, I’m very good at it, but neither of these describe what kind of player I am.

Well, that and I like making awesome looking armor sets. If my character doesn’t look perfectly the way I want them to, I have a problem with them.

And besides that? PvPer, I love World vs. World.

I’m afraid to do that, even with the undo button. I have a mix and match set, and I worked hard to get my look to where it is. I don’t want to risk undoing it at this point. haha.

I can relate to this completely!! I almost made another alt just for the fact I wanna test out new looks but scared to mess around with the look I love lol

I would call myself a Powerplayer.

I grew up with games, been playing video-games since I was six-years old and still are at age 31.
I have a natural talent for games and have easy to learn games, though I am far from a PRO I try to get the most out of a game I like but I am not crying if I should miss or not be able to obtain an achievement and I don’t care how long time it would take, I will get it eventually.

I have 8 chars and 7 of them at level 80 and have compleated the map and all JP including Halloween and Winter I have 20-ich PvP rating and rank 5 Assaulter.
I have played GW2 since release and I am a PvE player but enjoy some PvP now and then, but most important is that I play for enjoyment and not to farm, to be the best or just to get bragging rights.

My definition of a Powerplayer:
Desire to enjoy every part of the game so somewhat of an explorer who likes to see every edge of the world and to get it’s achievement’s… But it’s not the end of the world if you can’t get that achievement.
You must enjoy the story and follow it and it’s a good thing if you can see all paths of the story but even here it is not a must.
In the end you are not best and you are not the worst, you are good and you are satisfied with that.
So why the power in the name? Yes, becouse you spend much more hours than a “Casual” gamer.

Guild Clown…I do my dailies, do some dungeons, work on completion…but nothing takes priority like joking in guild chat and vent, distracting my guild members with my antics which has led to the most memorable fails on record.

Explorer: I locate every inch of the map and find every crevasse, nook and cranny. If something is missing I become obsessed until I find it. I don’t care how much it costs. I am only satisfied when everything and I mean everything is located. The exploring extends to dungeons, crafting and achievements too.

There’s always different sides to everybody, but this describes me the best.

I created an extensive google spreadsheet for my boyfriend and me to be able to keep track of what content we have or haven’t done, on our way to and beyond the in-game achievements….

I am the moderate. I play all aspects of guild wars 2 or at least try to in moderation.

Quite casual:

• I play when I feel like playing. I don’t feel a particular need to make sure my Dailies / Dragons get done.
• I don’t set my mind to do something in specific. I just go where the mood takes me.
• I’m more about exploring than anything (turned off all of my map icons).

Casual experiencer w/ a dash of altoholism:

I don’t feel the need to rush to 80 or grind for a Legendary or be at fractal 50. Instead, I experience the whole of Tyria at my own pace. I don’t need to get 100% completion immediately (although I’ve decided I do want it). I like trying new builds, running dungeons and world bosses with my guild mates, being social, doing DE chains with randoms. I don’t care about min/maxing but I do want to be competative and effective and a valuable part of a team. I do my dailies, but don’t freak out if I only have time to get it 3x in a week. I have exotic armor and about 55g and own nothing that costs more than 5g on the TP. I also like setting my main aside from time to time and messing around with alts. After all, my main started out as merely an alt. 95% PvE. The most important aspect to my gameplay is fun.

Not really sure where I fit…but I still enjoy my time in this game.

Altaholic explorer / WvW’er….just as happy leveling, deleting, re-rolling various alts. Only manage a hour or so of playtime per day during the week…if that. Sometimes don’t make it in at all. Play a lot on weekends, however….and then mostly WvW. Master Crafter to keep all my alts geared. Harvest everything.

I don’t bother with dailies or monthlies though its nice when they pop up just cause I’m messin around doing something. Have never completed any of the PvE events for that matter. Don’t care about dungeons, fractals, legendaries or map completion.

I like this aspect too. But the thing that gets me is the lack of a treasure chest or 3 for those of us that bother to explore multitude of hidden nooks and crannies of this world. There is so much detailed…and unused artwork in this world that few people ever see…just seems like there ought to be a few shinies for explorer types.

First…OP – great thread. Thanks. It has been a hoot reading all of this. I find myself nodding at some of the posts. Others clearly come from players far more advanced than I. One thing that should come through clearly….keeping everyone engaged and happy is a monumental task. I, for one, am very happy with Anet’s efforts in this.

So…my style. Nothing new here. As others have said, casual, explorer, PVE, will do dungeons if friends are on and will go. Sometimes I just relax and marvel at the beauty of the world. I love the world boss events…even if it does sometime seem like a very brief loot-fest. It is…at least for me…fun to see and interact with all the players gathered waiting for the dragon…dancing…playing…and doing the things we all do.

Just having a good time.

I suppose I’m a “Fashion Lunatic”
One of my time-consuming activities in the game is getting the most tasteful and best looking armor & weapons, dyed just right. I’ll spend waaaaay too long browsing the trading post and the PvP armor locker—trying different combinations of color, mixed armors, and weapon sets. I enjoy PvE, WvW, and roleplay, but I MUST LOOK GOOD while doing it :P Any clipping and I might just die

I keep track of everything in the Black Lion Trading Company. How much is mithril going for today? What should I farm next? Karka Shells, Ghost Peppers? What’s hot, what’s not?

Dragon Slayer & Monster Slayer
If there is a dragon showing up anywhere that’s where you’ll find me. Trolls and Swamp monsters too. It doesn’t matter. I want to kill the biggest and baddest monsters out there. They give better loot right?

Dynamic Hero
I roam the world of Tyria looking for things I can do to help out those in need. From the Maelstrom to the Forge, from the jungles to the wastelands, I’ll be out the fighting for those who can’t help themselves. It also gets me some good loot too.

I’m a…. “Jack of all Trades”?
I love to explore ALOT, but after doing that a couple of times, I start to speed clear everything, followed by going for the best gear in game xD Except legendaries. Lol

The game is a playground. With no height restrictions on the big rides. It’s all about the fun.

I’m Explorer and Power Monger, 1500+ hours logged on my thief, Legendary completed, Exotic everything with runes and ascended infused accessories. Only 1 other level 80 character and is fully geared, I also have enough tokens and random exotic junk sitting around to gear my 4 remaining alts. All crafts maxed, personal story completed on main. Only thing i need now is more craft materials and gold.
