SOS Spy Team Commander [SPY]
What's the gender breakdown for your characters?
SOS Spy Team Commander [SPY]
1 male human and 1 female char, I use to tend to go either way, but lately I find myself playing males more.
With each passing MMO armor seems to be getting gender specific models. the problem for me is female armors show more and more skin, I have no problem with a half naked attractive woman. I just don’t like that representing me.
Though I will admit some armor models are just better on females due to their more slender body I guess.
Ten character slots:
8 Humans, one of each profession:
Male 5 (Warrior/Guardian/Mesmer/Necromancer/Ranger)
Female 3 (Elementalist/Thief/Engineer)
1 Asura Male Warrior
1 Sylvari Female Ranger
The Sylvari is simply reserving a name, the Human Warrior is currently my main and I choose a name before I choose anything else when creating a character so the gender is very much a secondary consideration.
Male – 2 Human Warrior and Sylvari Thief
Female – 4 Human Mez, Norn Ranger and Guardian, Sylvari Elly
If I make an asuran or Charr I don’t know what it will be.
Right now it’s one male and two female…..although the male one is my main and the two female ones I haven’t played much and are just nameholders for when I get around to properly making them.
Female Norn Engineer (my favorite)
Female Sylvari Guardian
Female Human Necromancer
Male Charr Warrior
Male Charr Ranger
Male Human Thief
Lol it’s a video game, doesn’t really matter what gender you’re playing. Someone acting butt hurt over it is like someone getting mad you picked a female in a fighting game. Both equally ridiculous, just makes them seem very insecure. :p
I am a girl so I like to play females
I started with 2 Humans, Asura, Sylvari, Norn
And I slowly deleted all the non Human toons until I have a lone Asura left- I can already say she is gonna go.
No matter how interesting I find the Lore- I guess I suck and can’t identify with anything except humans- also I love Queensdale, I have traveled far and wide and that is my favourite starter area – eh meh- I guess I am a Humanist :p
3 female (Human Mesmer, Sylvari Necro, Norn Ele)
2 male (Charr Ranger, Asura Guardian)
Aerika [HoTR] – Necromancer
I have a male Asura elementalist (who sometimes wears clothes dyed with the cotton candy dye I found in the 45-55 pirate zone) and a male human thief (wears mostly emerald and has oxblood on his gloves and boots as it’s an excellent leather color). Although I like looking at the pretty “ladies” in this game I wouldn’t be comfortable playing a girl character in an MMO. Nothing against guys who do though.
4 male (Human, Charr, Sylvari, Asura), 1 female (Norn).
What’s the matter? Can’t stand the sight of a strong Norn woman?
Also, check out Hardcore Adventure Box: World 1, World 2, Lost Sessions
Main Character: Dathius Eventide | Say “hi” to the Tribulation Clouds for me. :)
2M (Norn Gaurdian, Asura Thief)
3F (Sylvari Hunter/Mesmer, Human Elementalist)
Usually the ratio is the other way around but the majority of the profession appropriate names I came up with this time were female. Will be buying a slot for a male Charr warrior for some balance.
*Edit; Noticing all my mele are males and my females are range has brought to light my blatent sexism.
Rocksors: 80 Guardian, Althalus: 80 Thief, Birigitte: 80 Ranger, Roacsors: 80 Warrior

Well i have 2 Females, an asura and a Sylvari
and one male which is Charr
i don’t feel any need to defend i play female characters, the reason is rather simple.
Classes, i simply just think example a mesmer is more rated to a female character in queen jennah’s immage and my Asura is made as an elementalist in the immage of Zoja, and well my Charr is a plain thief. though might reroll that as a Ranger or Guardian, Thiefs don’t fit very well to charrs ( too big and clunky )
for my girlfriend, she’s playing 2 males and 1 female. ( 1 male sylvari thief, 1 male Charr Warrior, and a female sylvari necro )
Swagman: “Charr but not asura? Guess with a name like feycat the get specie-al favor (ah see wut I did ther)”
Well, it’s more that I find things like tigers and lions awesome-looking, but Asura just aren’t aesthetically pleasing to me. Plus, they’re kinda evil little screwballs.
All female, I always play female characters in MMOs. How much money do you think I am going to make trying to hit on another player as a male Charr?
I have a sylvari female mesmer, human male ranger, asura male guardian, and a charr female thief so far.
So half female, half male.
“All female, I always play female characters in MMOs. How much money do you think I am going to make trying to hit on another player as a male Charr?”
What do you think this is wow?
yea you probably will still be able to get some silvers sent to you by shaking your virtual booty -_-
I have currently 4 female characters, guess the fifth will also be female, since I rarely play male characters in MMOs or RPGs, but maybe the fancy will strike me and I will try one.
100% Asura males. Those little guys are awesome!
All male, 5 Human one Charr.
Let’s see…
My main is a human male Elementalist, then I’ve got seven alts. Human female necromancer, Sylvari female Mesmer, Sylvari male Thief, Charr female Engineer, Sylvari female Ranger, Asura male Guardian, and Norn female Warrior.
Huh, I didn’t think I’d end up going with more female characters. Weird. I just sorta thought up character ideas and use what I thought was appropriate where. Also, I tried to have an even breakdown of races, but didn’t really think about gender when making them.
(edited by Loic.4367)
7 females, 3 males. I’m an altaholic, had even more alts in GW1.
mine are all male. always will be. I don’t dress in drag in real life
Most folks who play an opposite-sex character aren’t playing a representation of themselves, they’re just playing a character.
It’s usually only folks looking for a hookup who care about the RL gender behind the character in the game.
Tarnished Coast
uh.. 100% human female, duh
This.
7 female, 1 male (I wanted the Sylvari mohawk for my necro, and that was male-only).
3 Sylvari, 2 Asura, 1 Human, 1 Norn, 1 Charr.
Pet AI awful. Sword root+Aussie latency unmanagable. Lost playstyle, lost legendary, given up.
Mell: 80 Asura Guardian (+7 other 80s) | Aus Serenity [AUS] | Jade Quarry
4 male, 4 female
all male norns, because chest hair
Another one with 2m3f here.
One from each race and 5 classes, as I wanted to experience all starter areas and story lines.
Will eventually buy more slots to see the rest of the classes and even out the “gender balance”.
BTW you Asura and Charr haters really are missing out on some quality voice acting.
Well, my main is a female sylvari ranger, wanted to create a male character but checked female creation out and…tadaaa – female main.
This is my first female main and I’m kinda ok with it.
Then I wanted to compensate (wut?) female main with a male alt (:3), it supposed to be an asura elementalist, but as soon as I saw female asura elementalists default face…I couldn’t resist and here we go – second female character.
Next step – compensate it with two male alts =/
All male why would i choose something i am not?
Four female and two male. I made the two males in reference to old RP characters.
Lady Raevyn – 11 Necromancer – TC
Fanboy- The New Godwin’s Law.
2 females (sylvari (main) and norn) and one male (charr). I don’t really have a policy on gender – I just make whatever looks/fits best. For example: I cant make myself to make a female warrior. The armors are way too ugly. But a yummy male warrior on the other hand… Male mesmers however are terrible (or they used to be in GW1 – havent tried them yet in gw2), so I’m probably going for female if I ever decide to play that class.
Yes I am male, first a little background: I acquired the nickname of “Diva” in my last mmo because my friends said I always wanted the best stuff. I ended up giving my main the last name of “Diva” originally as a joke, but it stuck, and now for years all my friends refer to me as The diva, (sometimes even in real life lol).
So, I have to have a character named Diva now, in any game I play.
2 Sylvari females, last name Diva
1 Norn female, last name Diva
2 male Sylvari ( one is my Main)
1 male Asura
I seem to never make human characters in MMOs, maybe because I play one in RL
All female, except I avoid the human females because they’re like anime inspired schoolgirls with lingerie adventure gear and I truly loathe that style. To each and their own though.
All male why would i choose something i am not?
I’m with you, man! Fortunately, I happen to be an eight feet tall, heavily tattooed axe wielding female berserker in real life.
Except at weekends, when I’m an urbane, gnome-like creature, prone to tinkering with things and calling anyone bigger than me a bookah and cutting them to the quick with disparaging remarks about our comparative intellects…
All female, except I avoid the human females because they’re like anime inspired schoolgirls with lingerie adventure gear and I truly loathe that style. To each and their own though.
My god lingerie inspired outfits? How deplorable, what a horribly chauvinistic portrayal of female armor sets. You should tell me exactly where I can find such things so I can know the proper amount of outrage to feel.
I have female characters only (I’m a girl irl), never had a male character in MMOs, lol. I have Norn (Warrior main, Guardian, Ranger) and Human (Ele, Thief) chars, not fond of the other races. ;c
But… Asurans are the best! :D How could anyone say that Asurans aren’t sexy after seeing this! :D

Yeah, I’m still looking.
Lvl80 female human guardian,42 male warrior( the warrior started as my main but just found the class abit dull and female humans just look better in heavy armour), also got a female sylvari Mesmer and female asura thief, just feel the female models are just better looking in this game.
all Male, i cant play a female does feel right personally plus i like the armor more on the males in most tittles.
3 females, 2 males, always play more female character because I can relate with them more
I am male and play females only (1 human, 2 norn, 1 sylvari so far). From my point of view, I spend a lot of time playing games. I prefer looking at women
I don’t identify directly with my toons as avatars of myself or something. I see it more like Charlie’s Angels…I’m Charlie and they are my angels. Just an analogy hehe.
I try to have an even split, for variety’s sake. 2 Sylvari, 1 female 1 male. 2 Norn, 1 female 1 male. 2 Asura, 1 female 1 male….you get the idea.
I generally make caster classes females because they look better in light-robe armor. Giant male Norn mesmer in purple robes?? No thank you.
[TTBH] [HATE], Yak’s Bend(NA)
2 male, 2 female, 1 agender, 1 free slot to just play with character creation.
And to give it a bit more substance… the male ones are male because RP reasons. The agender one uses the male model because I prefer the male VA of that race to the female one. Similarly, the female Asura is so because I prefer the female Asura VA. And the last one is female because female Norn have the most amazing hairstyles ever.
Norn Warrior – male
Human Elementalist – female
Norn Guardian – female
Next up is probably a Necro. Definitely male. Not sure race yet.
Two Norn females, Guardian and Mesmer, and one Asura male, Elementalist for me. Haven’t decided on my last two slots yet.
All female, except I avoid the human females because they’re like anime inspired schoolgirls with lingerie adventure gear and I truly loathe that style. To each and their own though.

Yeah, I’m still looking.
Tailors….some of the stuff my wife has her Ele wearing is pretty cool. But only available casters, it seems. Still working on my leathersmith and armorsmith…but at the rate I play…gonna be awhile.
Raf Longshanks-80 Norn Guardian / 9 more alts of various lvls / Charter Member Altaholics Anon
I’m a guy and only one of the ~20 chars that I’ve created has been a female (a sylvari mesmer, I’m not yet sure whether I’ll keep her or not). I practically always choose males in games if there’s a choice, though I do prefer to have a female Witch Doctor in Diablo 3.
3 female, 2 male, one of each race. balance!
I’ve got 3 females – Human, Sylvari and Norn. Not sure if I’ll continue with just girls or if I’ll make a few guy characters as well.
Alt: Sharl Thorne | Norn Guardian | Bearborn | Honorable
Alt: Afanen Braith | Human Ranger | Commoner | Honorable
5 females – 1 Norn, 2 Human, 2 Sylvari. And even though I’m female in RL, I play some male characters in other games. But in GW2 the options for male char creation and fine tuning are kinda crude in my opinion.
