If you open your chat box to its expanded opaque view (F9 I think is default), you will see a drop down menu on each chat tab. Select this menu to enable or disable the various messages. One is marked as loot, I believe. Loot listings may be included in “Game Messages” or something. I don’t recall exactly as it’s been a while. Not a real detailed reply to your question, just figured nobody else responded yet and I would give some kind of reply before crashing. If you need more specific details just say so.

A few days ago i got dusk from a lost bandit chest from silverwastes, sold on tp for 711g and it was my first pre : )

Just to see if most people have good luck in the game.
Sadly it really doesn’t look good.
Some people are just born with the luck I guess.

Probably Xanthium from aetherpath end chest, which sold for more than any of the precursors I’ve got from mystic forge. 7k hours here, altough luck started to kick in after 5-6k hours.

looted abyss once back when it was just barely 30 gold, other then that jack squat. looted alot of the collection weapons back before they were 40g+. really wanted to kick myself when that collection was released.

Super Pistol… gifted it to a friend (it was ~9g back then) who doesn’t even play anymore QQ

Expensive as worth in gold, an exotic dagger from Megadestroyer, worth 10 gold, about 1,5 years ago. I play since official release (not beta).

Few weeks ago I found an acc-bound exotic staff with selectable stats, which is by far the most valuable/useful item I’ve got as drop so far. Obtained it during a no-brain cof p1.

I got Zap maybe two years ago (or more), when it wasn’t that valuable, earned 180g or so from that.

So uh three days after posting this, I went to fight Tequetl and got an ascended weapon. First ascended drop in 700 hours of playing.
I am sensing a conspiracy.
ANet saw this post and made an awesome item drop for me so I can keep quiet.
It all makes sense now.
Maybe I should make a post about legendaries…

I got Drawn (600 gold at the time) from the mystic forge, and entropy from a champion bag from HotW (90 gold). Also one abyss and one celestial dye that I kept to myself.

Also some runes and sigils worth up to 8 gold each.

Also got Sam and Eternal Ice before the collections, so they were not really worth much and soulbinded them

I got Scarlet’s Kiss from the holographic Scarlet event, which I can’t remember its value at the time, but now is about 800G.

Never sold it, and my engineer now carries that rifle.

The most expensive item I found so far was spark. I got it during Scarlet’s invasion in LA.

Nothing really.

Just a few exotics worth around 2.5 to 3g.

Nothing worth mentioning and I’ve been playing since launch. Most of my gold has been from selling t6 mats and ectos. Wasted lots of gold trying to get my precursor from the MF but eventually gave up and just bought it. Pretty frustrating. Started BLK farming and buying/holding scientific skins… Hopefully in a couple months it will pay off.

Almost 6k hr of game-play and 0 precursor dropped.. Not even under-water precursor.

Charged Quartz Orichalcum Amulet of the Hive at Breach in SW. 500 hours play time.

(Preserved Queen Bee, selling for 1200-3000g depending on supply/demand)

Best item I’ve gotten from the game at the time as the Exotic Sam 6 months before the collection. Went for 12 g, and by far the highest thing I’ve ever seen drop and I thought I had hit gold when I got it. Now its worth over 300g. Oh I also go the exotic Ulgoth’s tail before the collection system.

From the Mystic forge I did get The Legend after dumping in exotic and rare staffs for 6 months, and then did a run of over 120 one day to get it out. Oh and now that superior runes of divinity are worth less than a gold I’m getting them.

I watch another guy in the guild who has smaller MF (220 vs 256) than I do, doesn’t run with the boosters like I do get at least one exotic a day, I’m lucky to see an exotic drop a month. And my exotic drop is usually in the sub 1 G range, or if I’m really lucky in the 4 g range.

Another guy in the guild with sub 200 MF has found 6 precursors, 4 from drops, 2 from the mystic forge. Of course he has a fully loaded home instance too. I would if I was swimming in gold from precursor drops.

Most of my gold recently has been from my 5th character doing map completion and now my 6th, harvesting everything I can and selling it. Its not from mob drops. Though I suppose you could count the cloth as mob drops.

Scythe skin looted early on in the game (sold it for like 70 gold at the time, was a lot of dough)

The Legend looted as a drop from Sorrow’s Embrace explorable

Scarlet’s Rainbow, rifle dropped on the very last time I did the Breachmaker battle before the patch dropped. Held onto it for long before deciding to equip it, as Scarlet memorabilia lol.

A few 8 gold exotics and a black dye, other than that I never really got anything of value

I got an All Seeing Eye a long time ago; back when it was messed up and worthless. Then it went to 6 Gold so I was like, sweet, and sold it right away. Now its worth 130 Gold

Dusk from one of those pvp boxes, leaf of kudzu from champ in CS, tooth of frostfang from mfing 4 ambrite weapons. I was playing a lot though, over 7k hours atm

Been playing since Beta.

In the first 3 days I played on my very first Maw kill, I got an Eternal Ice (exotic) and sold it for 4g. Was more gold than I knew what to do with (then).
Have never had another one, of any rarity, drop since.
I looted 2 Ascended chests, one from Tequatl- one from the Corrupted Quaggan (FGS).
Other than that, nothing at all worth over 2-3g. I get (if I’m lucky) an exotic every 3-4 months. Maybe.
Ive played since 6mos after launch.

A few days after hitting 80 got a chaos gun playing around with MF for the first time.
About a month after that I got a colossus from a random low level mob while running through kessex hills.
A orchilium mining node from a key from map completion.
2 abyss dyes.
Multiple expensive exotics with high ends runes and sigil

I’ve been fairly lucky. Little over 900 hours since Christmas.

I found a long bow called Arthropoda. Got 200g from it. Think i got it from the krait lab event by Teq, my guild does a champ farm before the fight.

Kudzu precursor, Mad moon and Entropy. Lucky I guess.

I traded the precursor for Zap and 1.5 years later I finally finished bolt The game is basically finished for me now, since I also managed to luck out on Teq’s weapon cache last year. Looking forward to the expac and not feeling the need to grind for any new equipment ever again!

Got the Crossing from farming Champs at Jormag a few weeks ago sold really quick don’t remember for how much shared the proceeds with my guy and our daughter who also play. I’ve been playing a little over a year and I love this game, luck or no luck

Earlier this year I found a Permanent Hair Style Contract in a Black Lion Chest. Sold it for 1,800 gold.

Carcharias from a FR bloke in EotM, which I sold for ~120g. I never got any really awesomely expensive drops, but I got stuff worth 10-30g fairly regularly so can’t really complain that much. Still, i’m kinda bummed that the 3 precursors I got as drops were silly ones (Carcharias and 2x Bard).

The very 1st time I did a world boss (Shadow Behemoth), maybe a day or 2 into playing the game, I looted a weapon that sold for 88 gold. I think it was a focus, can’t remember. Nothin since.

First off I’d like to thank the RNG goddess for giving me absolutely nothing with over 2k hours. Lets see one underwater exotic worth 10g, and two ascended chests.

2x abyss dyes which i sold for roughly 35g each, 6k+ hours played, mainly in WvW. ( Those dyes dropped from players, not npc’s)

A black dye, 2 white dyes, a celestial, and an abyss. I miss random dye drops. qq Celestial was from a spider hatchling.

Randomly pulled the Permanent Hair Contract from the BL chest today. Good times.

Even during leveling I keep on getting the same stuff over and over.
“This armor is unusable by your profession” "This weapon is….. And so on.
Even in the personal story all the loot I get is total crap.

Something worth about 3 gold in almost 3000 hours of game time.

I’ll have to amend mine. I got Wolfsbane, which I sold for 60+ gold.

I think the most valuable drops I got was 2 ascended armor chests from PvP reward track, since I’ll get light armor from them, it is worth a lot.

Celestial dye from a plant.

It was a pre-cursor to Quip (Chaos Gun) which I found doing a dungeon run in Sorrow’s Embrace. I sold it for over 500G, but I don’t remember the exact amount.

Nothing more than 3-5ish gold. Played ~800ish hours since release.

Precursor for Rodgort’s Flame, the torch. Was around 250 gold.

The Colossus dropped for me during Melandru escort event. Instead of selling it directly, I forged the legendary and sold for very good amount of gold.
