What would you like to have in expac 2?
- muuuch more different events styles that can also be player solo.
* events like escorting…but this time u can choose between attacker and protecter(resulting a different reward)
* map wide events of searching special hidden spots
* mentor events or quests like teaming up with weaker player and help them
* hide and seek ;D xP
- muuuuuch mini dungeons…i love these challanges..and they can be done solo or with random people that r there at the same time (loved that a lot in the first days of gw2..everyone was an ally…not like now where its either the others mess all up or steal ur loot bcs of killing all monster within 1 second)
* puzzles that requires some looking around and some hinking, not only jumping ability (jumping is cool but finding out tricks and secrets too)
- more masteries also for central tyria
- Huntsman masteries:
allows u to have higher drop rates of certain items..like leather and meat and such. You can choose which item u wanna increase..and switch out the one that is active. (so u can have leather active…but others not..so if u wanna have more blood now u need activate it but the leather goes away). Also…i think to avoid the stupid exp farm it would be cool to develop these masteries when u do these things….so when u r hunting wild animals u increase the masteries lvl step by step.
*Secret/Chest Hunter (or something like this ;D):
increase the chance of finding chests in the world(such like in the end of JP´s) and make the loot better from them.
also finding new entrances of caves or such would be cool.
*Challanger:
beeing able to summon a challange in the open world. Like suddenly appearing 20-30 monster. I really love running around the open world and finding these mini dungeons where r many monster just to lure all and kill them all. but i feel like the population of monster decreased since release..and events r not the same anymore…they r not a challange anymore..but its a challange to hit every monster at least 1 time so u get loot.
or any other challange is welcome something for soloplayer also..
- muuuuuch new areas
* i really wanna play in the Ring of Fire region <3
- some maps that r like gw1 maps. So u enter it alone or with a party..and u find there a copy of a map..and u can choose between easy, normal, hard and extreme mode. While the drop and reward is better the higher the dificulty. And a super cool reward in the end after clearing all the map. (i think this goes even well with excisting maps (or at least to make 1 map have 2-4 parts) …killing all monster (and monster dont spawn back) is really cool and fun way to explorere all the region
and after u finished all the world instances u get a cool reward like it is when u get 100% of the map. and it is repeatable.
More like the GW1 expansion. And to a place that is familiar to the first game. People want to go to elona or cantha, make it happen and stop screwing around in that jungle.
1. A new race.
2. Playable tengu.
3. Race change kit.
4. more PVE maps like in HOT.
5. More PVP maps.
6. Tengu as a new playable race.
7. Being able to use a race change kit and race change my character into a tengu, which will be the new playable race.

I want a polished support Guardian. <3
Warlord Sikari (80 Scrapper)
-town clothes.
-a way to make any tonic, an endless tonic
-tattoos/earrings in character creation (not just for women or norns)
-a way to have my character shirtless without removing armor or
-barbarian /leather straps medium armor, and more variety instead of coats
-change the blue lose trunks for briefs for male characters underwear.
-more hairstyles are always welcome
-more creepy places, haunted forests, abandoned houses and villages, graveyards, more dark stuff.
A lot more effort?
Rather than hope for another expansion, asked for one thing → Fixed lots of bugs that should have been fix.

its not hopeing..its a fact

i agree that HoT dont worth the money it cost (till now)…
but i still gone buy the next expack..im a big fan of gw since ages…i just wish they would keep up their unique gamedesign
also i hope for the return of map instances like in gw1…at least as a new gamemode…its really needed for a big comunity of different people that everyone can choose between easy, normal and hardmode..so everyone can choose his/her gamemode and be happy
Non instanced housing like Dark Age of Camelot, Vanguard, and Archage. Please no instance crappie like Everquest 2 or our home instance we have now.
Moooounts so I can have more things to collect!
Also maps that aren’t 100% meta focused. I want to explore, not worry about how I’m taking up server space.

Indeed. 4 maps with “biomes” will not fly this time.

-A good number of new armor sets and weapons skins
I like the other suggestions but more skins is top of my list, especially since HoT was so thin on new skins.
Hammer Mesmer with Cantrips
Levi Ironhart, Cassandra Irehart, Lucio Trothart
Discord Gearhart, Naevius Soulhart, Frisk Softhart

I would like to see us take the fight to Krat in the Crystal Desert, with the pact driven by the full might of the Charr War Machine and armored columns, backed by airship and helicopter gunship. The Living World leading up to it should add a few things to Ascalon… notably, Charr Tanks around their bases. Also – have the Heart Warband (The devourer trainer apprentices) in the Plains of Ashford grow up (And replaced in that spot with a new warband), with living story events eventually having the final showdown be the players being support for a fight between Krat and Destr Hearteater’s newest, biggest, strongest, and most awesome Devourer.
The maps should be a blend of large and sprawling dunes/plains where siege devourers and tanks clash with Branded forces, and smaller, tight and claustrophobic crystal formations and caves. Masteries give players control over the vehicles…. kittenmit, did I just accidentally add Mounts to my wishlist? Or does it not count if they can’t be called on demand and are large war machines?
New elite specializations should be added, giving every class guns:
Ranger – Commando, unlocking Rifle, which is exclusively a short/medium range weapon. Range 900 for it’s autoattack, but damage drops off dramatically every 300 feet. Attack 2 is a cone that blinds. Rifle 3 is a shoot, roll, and stealth. Rifle 4 is a stock-block+smack. Rifle 5 is “Charge shot” – you run up to the target (Breaking immobilization and cripple), shoot them at point-blank in the face, and knock them back a short distance. One of their traits gives them bonus damage from stealth and against blinded targets.
Warrior – Captain – Pistol
Only a rough idea, but it’s largely a support-based specialization (As opposed to the berzerker’s strong offense)
The pistol would be a support/control weapon, with a daze on one of its attacks.
Elementalist – Gunmage – Pistol.
Swords will have to wait. Shoot things with a gun that shoots fire, lightning, and causes earthquakes and waterfalls.
Thief – Musketeer – Rifle
Rifle is a long-ranged sniper weapon. It’s ‘autoattack’ doesn’t deal damage or even have a projectile, and it doesn’t break stealth. Instead, it applies a unique condition (Cleared only on a dodge) that increases the damage/effect of the rifle’s actual shot skills (One is daze, one is cripple). PvE enemies are blissfully unaware of it. PvP, though, the little icon gives warning that they’re about to get BOOM! HEADSHOT!
Engineer – Demoknight – Sword
They can charge! And mix things up in melee with a sword+shield! Because the class can’t have too many Team Fortress parallels
Mesmer – Mountebank – Pistol
The pistol lets them shadowstep/teleport even more, and shoot foes with a satisfying “Pak!” sound from a distance, while looking absolutely suave and fashionable. Great when paired with a sword and floppy hat.
Revenant – Dreadnought – Greatsword
Still no gun for this guy. I’d rather be Darth Vader. He’s a slow, unstoppable juggernaut. One of his traits gives him a boost to Toughness and Power when not running. He generally strikes with the greatsword using only one hand
GS 1 – Three hit combo. First two are almost-lazy one-handed strikes that inflict Torment – He’s not moving much, and neither are his enemies. His third strike is a powerful two-handed strike that’s unblockable
GS 2 – Death Grip – roots the Dreadnought, and he reaches out with the off-hand and grips his foe with mystic chains, damaging and immobilizing them for the duration of the ability (Clearing the immobilization doesn’t stop the damage). Becomes Reel during that duration, allowing him to pull the target to him for melee pain.
GS 3 – Eh… something goes here
GS4 – Holds his off-hand out in front of him as mist energy swirls around it in a shield. After it blocks the first melee attack, he begins a somewhat slow counterattack. He remains blocking throughout the attack, and anyone hit and damaged by the strike are afflicted with a status that deals damage at the end of the whole strike based on the number of blocked hits.
GS 5 – Sweep – Eh. He sends a shockwave of energy out in a wide arc in front of him with a sweep of the greatsword.
Not sure what I’d like to see the others have.
Guardian: Lancer or Myrmidon – weapon Land spear or Javelin or Pike main hand or 2 hands.
Utility skills – physical or stance or survival.
Fun……………….
“PVE thats not gonna be terrible.”

Not too many maps that thin out the playerbase and make it hard for events to succeed.

This,
The next expac needs to be a near full game on its own, a few maps with locked content behind a wall of grinding will not cut it, a lot of people bought HoT on good faith thinking they where getting more than they did, the game content has since dwindled down to nothing, all 4 maps where empty today ( and I haven’t logged in for a month ) WvW is dead, sPvP is struggling,
But in saying all that, apparently some players and the devs are playing a completely different game, as some think there is nothing wrong, so who knows,
Next expac will probably be 3 or 4 maps in the crystal desert, I think the time for Elona/Cantha has long since gone.

A lot more effort?
Already quit 2 weeks ago, not logging in not even for dailies. Reason I did quit been here since 2005, the game has gone downhill too much, been srewed over by the poor amount of content in HOT and it’s sorry excuse for being as such. Also by the time living story 3 will come out 18 months will have gone by since the second chapter, sorry but that not darn good enough.
From now on I’ll come here only when content is added as in new maps or expansions speaking of which if the next expansion is again less than 5 maps that will be the final nail.
Meanwhile I’ll be spending time on Tom Clancy’s: The Division starting on March 8th where there is more communication from devs and no silence embargo. They are pomissing 3 DLC in the first 12 months. Now that’s what I call burning the midnight oil.
Have fun you’all and see you in 5 months or so in LS 3.

1) Repayable past metas or similar style events (like marionette).
2) New PVE maps not focused solely of group meta.
3) Alpine BL back or atleast in a rotation.
4) New race
5) Ele and Engi alt weapon capabilities

I feel you, friend. I’m still doing dailies, but went back to Star Trek Online (of all things), and now I’m trying Black Desert Online . . . which I’m starting to hate . . . but I’m still giving it a chance.
Hope they learned something after this ‘expansion’ fiasco. Stayed with Guild Wars 2 longer than any other MMO, to include WoW, and I hate what’s happening here.
In the future, I sincerely hope they release more content, do more testing, and base decisions less on the vocal minority and PvP nonsense.
Guess we’ll see.

1. LW S1 accessible via Fractals
2. New standard PVE maps *4
3. New SUPER hard event maps
4. New elite specs including Paladin for Guardian (Virtues become Auras that are Passive, MUCH Stronger and effect allies as well but you can only have 1 active at a time.
5. Some super cool legendary armor that you don’t need at all and is difficult to get so I can listen to people whinge about it.
And of course.
6. The extinction of the stinking Charr Race and the restoration of Ascalon to it’s rightful owners.
100 new maps all with meta events.
1000 new skins
1 new weapon type per profession
10 new professions
10 new wvw maps
But it has to be free because I don’t understand that game prices has hardly risen in the past 10 years but costs to make games have.

You left out that you need to be able to acquire all skins while playing solo and without actually having to get better at playing the game. I mean seriously, if you don’t make this stuff really easy to get how will any one ever know how 1337 I am???
the other $48 worth i am still owed from xpac 1
1. Better class balance.
2. Chill being unable to stack duration and having one second immunity after it’s cleansed or runs out.
3. Increased stomp speeds, knockback skills delayed upon downed.
4. Signet of Humility’s cooldown and duration cut in half. Sigil symbol procs during the animation and it causes revealed to the mesmer.
(great to have but won’t be disappointed without it)
5. Playable Tengu and/or Kodan.
6. More Quaggan minis.
7. More Nuhocs.

Games that know they’re games tend to be the funnest. “Good story” is also highly subjective. Within the context of a video game a good story is one that is both congruent with its mechanics and opens the door and justifies great gameplay elements. A video game where Superman gets hurt by ordinary bullets for example would be a bad game because he’s famously durable enough where they don’t hurt him while a fighting game with tight mechanics with approximately powerful characters would be good.
A good story within the context of gaming would give MORE action, meta, and mini-games. Or at the very least more refined meta that’s more challenging and enjoyable with reasonably tweaked rewards since one can farm Silverwaste for MONTHS even a full round twice per day and still not save up the gold required for a precursor. This even accounting for mining and logging.

Legendaries are not the meta. theyre weapons with aesthetic effects with identical stats to ascended, so other than personal preference there is zero need for them. farming gold for legendaries is NOT “the endgame” and if that how you view it, youre going about MMOs all wrong
How can you say any one is going about their mmo wrong? Just wondering appointment you were handed to decide such things?
1. Balance.
2. Many more dynamic events and dynamic event chains.
The early zones feel much more alive when there are a lot of these going on.
The zones with meta events feel more contrived and mechanical.
(This is HazyDazy’s #2).
3. Map design. One of the issues with the HoT zones is that while travelling through them, there are a lot of narrow areas and chokepoints, and combined with the (more) difficult monsters, makes it difficult to get around.
4. No account bound stuff (I hate this junk, what am I supposed to do with it?).
5. More map design. I assume the maps will be multi-level again . You can add two more levels, underwater and deep water to increase the amount of content. The other poster reminded me of biomes — the HoT maps don’t feel like biomes — there’s very little difference between top and bottom — it’s all mordrem. It would be far more interesting if the biomes were actually different and not necessarily tied to the story line. I feel it would also be better if I could stay and play on one level (so each level within the map would have much more content).

The endgame is usually PvP with an added bonus of doing PvE stuff to obtain further advantages* for PvP (which only level the playing field past a certain point like a college degree used to be an advantage but these days merely levels the playing field) or looking cool for it depending on the MMO.
*Then stats like resilience get added that comically defeat the purpose behind dungeons and raiding or level scaling. In Guild Wars 2 the PvE endgame is completing and mastering your character for WvW since your PvE equipment is used. PvE in this game is intended to be long term work to optimize your builds and look cool for WvW.
“3. Map design. One of the issues with the HoT zones is that while travelling through them, there are a lot of narrow areas and chokepoints, and combined with the (more) difficult monsters, makes it difficult to get around.”
This isn’t an issue but rather a feature. It was hard initially and that’s a good thing. If content is sufficiently hard then clearing it has value, resulting in justified pride in one’s accomplishments. You were precise, consistent, aware of your surroundings and exercised good judgment…and still lose. Then you go in with even more precision (timing interrupts and dodges better and the right skills) and win the next time.
“5. More map design. I assume the maps will be multi-level again . You can add two more levels, underwater and deep water to increase the amount of content. I like biome diversity. Deserts have a bad reputation but I’d rather be in an Arizona, California, or Israeli desert than a remote Northwestern Territories or Alaskan taiga, to say nothing of the tundra. However, there are Chilean and Iranian deserts that are simply too hot and dry for any human while Antarctica beats out all for danger despite being surrounded by water (snow) since it’s so cold. For wildlife the jungle has the most dangerous animals given its big snakes, very poisonous snakes and other creatures, big cats, primates, dangerous bugs and plants, etc., but has the best weather and climate.
Balance the core traits and skills.
Stop forcing each class into a single role.
That is all.
How about Anet finish the 1st expansion and deliver what they promised.

I would like to have an actually working WVW game mode instead of this current joke and former shadow of itself.
In addition, I would love to see a new raid, in which entry and all mechanics would be much like Darkness Falls from DAOC. Due to the PVP elements, that was by far the best raid I have ever played in any MMO, and yes, I have been on the receiving as well as the providing sides of those pvp elements many, many times.
- New playable race – Tengu
- (at least)10 new armour sets, where max 2 are coats for medium. Among those also more skin-showing and tribal options, espacially for medium. New cultural armours as well.
- A few new maps. Not Meta oriented only like DS.
- A look at how rangers pets actually work (or not do so). They need polish in general.
- Total makeover kit and hairstyle kit avaliable in game (not only trough bltc chest RNG), perhaps through a PvP reward track.
- More character customisation options for horns and fur patterns for charr, tattoos for Norn… etc Have been waiting for that for ages.
- A home instance, bank and TP avaliable as upgrades in the GH.

I want three dragons to coordinate an attack on Tyria.
The dragons aren’t interesting opponents (amazing designs though.) They don’t have history or lore or stories or personalities. They’re just big targets to take down so we can feel better about ourselves. Traherne advanced technology in Tyria so fast during the pact storyline that one airship (granted it was the best airship) could go head to head with a dragon, they’re not a threat anymore.
To mix that up we should see them desperate. Seeing them work together, pulling back from their current areas to go after a single location (Preferably the Black Citadel, it’s the greatest manufacturing base in Tyria). That would reestablish the dragons as a threat and clear most of them out at the end of the expansion, giving way to more interesting threats.
Also, stop killing NPCs. When characters I like die in front of me it removes the heroic feeling. (this is not a good thing)
