I mean I leveled my mesmer from 50 to 80 and got only 1 dye for the whole time?

I know you reduced it cause it was out of hand once, but this drasticly, really?

bad luck, I guess. I usually find at least one dye per gaming session (about 4 hours in the weekends :p)

Probably once every 5-10 hours for me.

I find 1-5 a day.

If im PvE’ing all day maybe i’ll get one on my main. Leveling my alt it was as though they wouldnt stop dropping though so maybe theyre more common from lower level mobs.

More dye = lower prices though so from my perspective (selling) its a good thing that theyre relatively rare at higher levels.

They obviously weren’t selling enough dye packs.

Found 3 last night during two hours of clearing straits of devastation, and a guildy gotten an abyss dye of a enemy in wvwv over the weekend, I think it’s fine.

As always when people think drop rates have been reduced without any notification, it works fine for me: Just cleared the three quaggan camps in WvW and got three Uni Dyes.

Got 2 yesterday in about 3 hours of gaming

Doing my daily in low level zones (1-15, 15-25), I get anywhere from 2-6 dyes.
Seems good to me.

playing an alt in the 20-30 range got me 8 unidentified dye drops in about 5 hours of play

Agree.. just a run of bad luck maybe.
However where I used to get most of my dyes dropping from grubs and flies, I now get the majority from gathering carrots and onions, guess the darn insects are getting more clever.

I’ve noticed that best chance to get unidentified dye is to gather herbs and blueberries.Drop rate from them is fairly high.

Level 64 now. I haven’t had a dye drop since 52-54

Once I got 5 from a single node in a spinach farm guarded by a veteran troll, 3 of them from the same node in bonus gatherings, one after another.

I got two this morning, back to back kills of warthogs.

Got 2 just now in Lost shore. Nothing changed. Random chance. Nothing more.

i get dye fairly often, at least 1 ever 2 hours doing events is high level areas. Also they seem to drop from harvest nodes as well, in WvW i get a few that way, and the bugs there

Got three from a single event in Iron Marches.

I got 1 last night in WvW and sold it for a little over 16s.

I get about 1 every 3 days, unless I’m farming repeat mobs for a few hours. When farming, I’ll get 1-2 in 3 hours.

Last one was yesterday in FoTM. It was blood dye

I have never ever gotten a dye from a plant and I harvest everything.
Mobs yes.
I get one every couple of days, more on some alts than others, seems about the same to me as it was before the huge dye drop fest.

I found 4 this week, all of them blues that I already had.

I can’t remember the last time I found a yellow, other than through MFing greens.

My last dye drop was the day before yesterday, I think, on my low-30s ranger. He only has a handful of dyes beyond the default starting set… and this one was a repeat of one of the few he already has! It was a shade of blue… I forget which one.

Dont know if it was a little glich i was farming Karka in SoS yeaterday and had 5 Dyes drop in an hour ? But before that i avrage 1 every 2 days

Received one in WvW and three in Cursed Shore this week. It really varies though some weeks I see none.

3 a day on average for past week. I had a long patch of time before Xmas where I had none. It’s all luck based, nothing more

I got one last night and one the day before that. I think I’m getting dyes less often but somehow more rare colors atm. Luck is a strange thing shrugs

I’ve actually gotten more recently than I’ve had for a while.

On average about 6 per week varying anywhere from 3 within minutes to days between drops.

I get from 3-6 a day, as drops and from harvesting foods. But I do play too much.

I haven’t kept close track, but I think my high level chars get the most while in low level maps.

Usually I get one every 2 to 3 hours or so. I have been getting at least one almost every day.

Get just about one a day. Though the new achievement system should let you buy them if the preview picture is to be believed so that might address the shortage.

Three or so days ago I got like 4. I hadn’t seen one for over a week before that and haven’t seen one since. :P

I hope so. After getting ascended stuff that would be a great thing for me, I love getting dyes. Also, does anyone know if they’ve said if the laurels are going to actually go in your inventory like mystic coins, or are they a currency? Plus, are they soul bound or account bound? (I’m assuming the latter.)

I get more dye drops in low level zones while completing dailies than in high level zones. It probably has to do with the number of kills per hour and/or where dye lands on the loot table.

On average I get about 1 a day. So there are some days without any, and there are days with lots. The guild bank is filling up with dyes…

I’ve gotten 4 dye drops within the last two days of playing. Didn’t even notice they were in my bags until I saw this post and checked lol!

2 today. Both copies of what already have. One a rare I coulda sold for near a gold if I hadn’t decided to let the guild bank have it. If no one grabs it then I’ll sell it. (Midnight something or other)

I haven’t had any in a week or two I think, but a lot of my playtime dungeons and WvW which don’t tend to drop them much. Have been disappointed not to get them at some point from gathering at least though, since I’ve completed the daily achievement most days.

Three during last two days.

on my warrior from 40-80 I got 3 dyes. At least 20 of those levels were purely crafted, and the rest were from personal story (which does not have a plethora of monsters vs exp gains most of the time)

I got one last week but before that I think its been about a month since Ive gotten a dye drop, bad luck I guess.

I haven’t paid much attention but I’d estimate that the drop rates averages out at about 1 for every 4 hours of playing for me.
